Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir started the following lineup: 6-0 Jr. ZaKiyah Johnson, 5-8 Sr. Claire Russell, 6-3 Sr. Angelina Pelayo, 5-4 Fr. Amirah Jordan, and 5-10 Sr. Reagan Bender. Bishop McNamara (MD) coach Ron James countered with 6-1 Sr. LaNae’ Corbett, 5-9 Jr, Vanessa Harris, 6-2 Jr. Zhen Craft, 5-7 Jr. Mary Amoateng, and 5-8 Sr. Madisen McDaniel.

Bishop McNamara defeated Sacred Heart Academy by the score of 66-60. Bishop McNamara took an early 22-9 lead but Sacred Heart rallied and led 52-51 after three quarters. However Bishop McNamara outscored the Valkyries 15-8 in the final quarter to earn the victory. There were four lead changes and four ties in this game. Bishop McNamara shot 47.1% from the field including six of 17 from the three point line. The Mustangs connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 22 Sacred Heart turnovers. Sacred Heart shot 42.6% from the field including five of 18 from beyond the arc. The Valkyries connected on 15 of 22 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 16 Bishop McNamara turnovers.

Madisen McDaniel led Bishop McNamara with 23 points including four of five free throws, four assists, and seven steals. Zhen Craft added 12 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two blocked shots. 5-7 Jr. Princess Moody recorded 11 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, and three assists. 6-2 Fr. Qandace Samuels chipped in with nine points including two three point baskets, two blocked shots, and two steals. LaNae’ Corbett added eight points and three rebounds.

ZaKiyah Johnson led Sacred Heart Academy with 26 points including nine of 12 free throws, 11 rebounds, three assists, and four steals. Reagan Bender added 11 points including two three point baskets, two rebounds, and four assists. Angelina Pelayo recorded 10 points, eight rebounds, and two assists. Claire Russell chipped in with six points on two three point baskets, eight rebounds, and two assists. 5-8 Sr. Emi-Lee Howe added seven points, two rebounds, and two assists.
