11th Region All ‘A’ Championship

Lexington Christian Academy coach Tim Bradshaw started the following lineup: 5-6 Jr. Ella Gabbert, 5-6 So. Jenny Bertram, 5-9 8th Grade Koko Castle, 5-6 Jr. Chapel Brown, and 5-7 Jr. Claire Roberts. Berea coach Dammian Stepp countered with 5-7 Sr. Abigail Beard, 5-7 Sr. Sophie Brewer, 5-9 So. Kadence Stepp, 5-1 Sr. Maddy King, and 5-3 Sr. Miranda Thacker.

Lexington Christian Academy survived giving up a 10 point halftime lead, and an overtime period to defeat Berea 41-38 in overtime to capture the 11th Region title. Jenny Bertram hit two free throws down the stretch to ensure the victory. There were six lead chnges and four ties in this game. Lexington Christian Academy shot 37.5% from the field including five of 16 from the three point line. The Lady Eagles connected on six of 12 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored five points off three Berea turnovers. Berea shot 31.1% from the field including two of 13 from beyond the arc. The Lady Pirates connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 13 LCA turnovers.

Koko Castle led Lexington Christian Academy with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Ella Gabbert added eight points on two three point baskets and five rebounds. Chapel Brown recorded eight points including two three point baskets, two rebounds, and four assists. Claire Roberts chipped in with seven points and eight rebounds. Jenny Bertram added four points, three rebounds, and two assists.

Abigail Beard led Berea with 12 points including five of six free throws, three rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Sophie Brewer added 10 points and three rebounds. Kadence Stepp recorded eight points and eight rebounds.
