Covington Catholic coach Scott Ruthsatz started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Brady Hussey, 6-0 Jr. Nolan Ruthsatz, 6-9 Sr. Caden Miller, 5-11 So. Cash Harney, and 5-11 So. Athens McGillis. Walton Verona coach Mike Hester countered with 6-4 Jr. Aiden Kerns, 6-3 Sr. Julian Dixon, 6-6 Jr. Aaron Gutman, 5-8 Sr. Landon Bach, and 6-2 Sr. Zach Smith.

Covington Catholic defeated Walton Verona by the score of 81-69. There were five lead changes and four ties in this game. Covington Catholic shot 57.9% from the field including six of 11 from the three point line. The Colonels connected on nine of nine free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 13 Walton Verona turnovers. Walton Verona shot 47.9% from the field including eight of 22 from beyond the arc. The Bearcats connected on 15 of 18 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 14 Covington Catholic turnovers.

Cash Harney led Covington Catholic with 29 points including two three point baskets, five of five free throws, two rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Caden Miller added 22 points, nine rebounds, and two blocked shots. Athens McGillis recorded 19 points including three three point baskets, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Brady Hussey chipped in with nine points, five rebounds, and two assists. Nolan Ruthsatz recorded seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Aaron Gutman led Walton Verona with 19 points including two three point baskets, five of eight free throws, eight rebounds, three assists, and three blocked shots. Julian Dixson added 18 points including six of six free throws, four rebounds, and two assists. Landon Bach recorded 13 points including three three point baskets, two rebounds, two assists, and four steals. Zach Smith chipped in with 10 points including four of four free throws. 5-9 Sr. Max Montgomery recorded six points on two three point baskets, and four assists.
