Covington Catholic vs. DeSales (Boys)

Covington Catholic coach Scott Ruthsatz started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Brady Hussey, 6-0 Jr. Nolan Ruthsatz, 6-9 Sr. Caden Miller, 5-11 So. Cash Harney, and 5-11 So.Athens McGillis. DeSales coach Damien Anderson countered with 6-3 Sr. Logan Tharp, 6-1 Sr. Brady Cummins, 6-6 Sr. William Gibson, 6-0 Sr. Damone King, and 6-0 Sr. Landon Thompson.

Covington Catholic defeated DeSales in an 85-81 high scoring game in which both teams shot the ball extremely well. The score was tied twice and there were two lead changes in the game. Covington Catholic shot 54.5% from the field including 11 of 20 from the three point line. The Colonels connected on 14 of 20 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored seven points off seven DeSales turnovers. DeSales shot 55% from the field including 11 of 23 from beyond the arc. The Colts connected on four of eight free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 11 Covington Catholic turnovers.

Brady Hussey led Covington Catholic with 27 points including six three point baskets, four rebounds, and four assists. Caden Miller added 18 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocked shots. Athens McGillis recorded 16 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and seven assists. Cash Harney chipped in with eight points, four rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Nolan Ruthsatz added eight points including two three point baskets, and four rebounds. 6-6 So. Donovan Bradshaw recorded eight points, three rebounds, and two blocked shots.

Damone King led DeSales with 25 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Brady Cummins added 23 points including five three point baskets and three rebounds. William Gibson recorded 15 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. Landon Thompson chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets, two rebounds, and two assists. Logan Tharp recorded 10 points, two rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
