Lexington Catholic coach Michael Menifee started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Lydia Kennedy, 5-8 Sr. Mary Hall, 5-9 Sr. Marielle Sackleh, 5-5 So. Josey Cox, and 5-6 Sr. Brooke Russell. Berea coach Dammian Stepp countered with 5-7 Sr. Abigail Beard, 5-7 Sr. Sophie Brewer, 5-9 So. Kadence Stepp, 5-1 Sr. Maddy King, and 5-3 Sr. Miranda Thacker.
Berea led 22-12 in the second quarter and held on for a 37-34 victory over Lexington Catholic. Berea shot 30.3% from the field including two of 11 from the three point line. The Lady Pirates connected on 15 of 18 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 12 points off seven Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lexington Catholic shot 26.9% from the field including two of 16 from beyond the arc. The Lady Knights connected on four of seven free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 11 Berea turnovers.
Abigail Beard led Berea with 16 points including six of six free throws, and eight rebounds. Sophie Brewer added 11 points including six of six free throws and 10 rebounds. Kadence Stepp recorded four points, four rebounds, and two steals. Maddy King chipped in with three points, two rebounds, and five assists. Miranda Thacker added three points and three rebounds.
Lydia Kennedy led Lexington Catholic with 15 points, six rebounds, two blocked shots, and two steals. 5-9 So. Bella Bretz added six points, four rebounds, and three steals. Marielle Sackleh recorded four points, six rebounds, and two steals. Josey Cox chipped in with four points, five rebounds, and three assists. Mary Hall added three points, five rebounds, and three assists.
