Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman started the following lineup: 6-5 Sr. Tyler Doyle, 6-3 Jr. Ryan Harward, 6-4 Sr. Owen Kennedy, 6-0 Sr. John Reinhart, and 6-3 Sr. Brody Turner. (Rowan Williams and Miller Williams were not available tonight). Great Crossing coach Steve Page countered with 6-7 Sr. Jeremiah Godfrey, 6-5 Jr. Vince Dawson III, 7-1 Jr. Malachi Moreno, 5-10 Jr. Junius Burrell, and 6-4 Jr. Gage Richardson.
Great Crossing trailed 43-39 after three quarters but the Warhawks outscored Lexington Catholic 19-7 in the final quarter to earn a 58-50 victory. There were four lead changes and one tie in this game. Great Crossing shot 39.6% from the field including four of 19 from the three point line. The Warhawks connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 12 Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lexington Catholic shot 39.6% from the field including five of 15 from beyond the arc. The Knights connected on three of four free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 12 points off seven Great Crossing turnovers.
Malachi Moreno led Great Crossing with 20 points, 19 rebounds, and seven blocked shots. Vince Dawson III added 16 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Gage Richardson recorded nine points including two three point baskets, two rebounds, and five assists.
Tyler Doyle led Lexington Catholic with 19 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Owen Kennedy added eight points including two three point baskets, and seven rebounds. John Reinhart recorded eight points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and two assists.
