Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman started the following lineup: 6-5 Sr. Tyler Doyle, 6-4 Sr. Rowan Williams, 6-7 Sr. Miller Williams, 6-0 Sr. John Reinhart, and 6-3 Sr. Brody Turner. Frederick Douglass coach Stephon Harris countered with 6-4 Jr. Armelo Boone, 6-3 Jr. Aveion Chenault. 6-4 So. DeMarcus Surratt, 5-8 Jr. Christopher Wright, and 6-2 Jr. Logan Busson.

Lexington Catholic led by 17 early in the second quarter but had to withstand a late rally by Frederick Douglass to earn a 62-56 victory. There was a wild melee under the basket with 25 seconds left in the game that resulted in a flagrant foul and ejection on Armelo Boone and technical fouls being assessed to Rowan Williams and Aveion Chenault. Lexington Catholic shot 46.9% from the field including six of 19 from the three point line. The Knights connected on 10 of 13 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored nine points off nine Frederick Douglass turnovers. Frederick Douglass shot 37% from the field including six of 29 from beyond the arc. The Broncos connected on 10 of 11 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 11 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Tyler Doyle led Lexington Catholic with 21 points including seven of nine free throws, four rebounds, and five assists. John Reinhart added 20 points including six three point baskets. Rowan Williams recorded 10 points and nine rebounds. Miller Williams chipped in with seven points, seven rebounds, and two steals.

Armelo Boone led Frederick Douglass with 21 points including two three point baskets, and two assists. DeMarcus Surratt added 11 points, seven reboun ds, two assists, and two steals. Logan Busson recorded eight points including four of four free throws, seven rebounds, and two assists.
