Lafayette coach Vince Sanford started the following lineup: 6-4 Jr. Eli Steele, 6-0 Jr. Eli Thomas, 6-5 So. Tyler Hunt, 5-6 Sr. Yashiro Hurst, and 5-10 So. KJ Jones. Frederick Douglass coach Stephon Harris countered with 6-3 Jr. Aveion Chenault, 6-2 Jr. Logan Busson, 6-4 So. DeMarcus Surratt, 6-0 Sr. Jake Mitchell, and 6-1 Sr. Noah Jones.

Frederick Douglass eked out a 58-56 come-from-behind victory over Lafayette. Lafayette led 36-25 in the third quarter but Frederick Douglass rallied for the victory. There were two lead changes and three ties in this game. Frederick Douglass shot 41.1% from the field including six of 20 from the three point line. The Broncos connected on six of 18 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 16 Lafayette turnovers. Lafayette shot 48.8% from the field including seven of 17 from beyond the arc. The Generals connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored seven points off seven Frederick Douglass turnovers.

Aveion Chenault led Frederick Douglass with 15 points, eight rebounds, and two assists. DeMarcus Surratt added 11 points, seven rebounds, three assists, two blocked shots, and five steals. Jake Mitchell recorded 11 points including three three point baskets. Logan Busson chipped in with six points, six rebounds, and two assists.

Yashiro Hurst led Lafayette with 16 points and three rebounds. Eli Thomas added 12 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and two assists. 5-8 So. Clay Noble recorded 11 points including three three point baskets. KJ Jones chipped in with eight points and four rebounds. Eli Steele recorded five points, nine rebounds, and three blocked shots.
