Grant County coach Shawn West started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. Jada Cummins, 5-7 Jr. Caroline Barnes, 5-9 Sr. Sarah Russell, 5-2 Fr. Olivia Ginn, and 5-4 Jr. Skyler Menefee. Madison Central coach Scott True countered with 5-7 Jr. Brittany Campbell, 5-7 Jr. Brooke Campbell, 5-7 Sr. Eden Carter, 5-5 So. Jordyn Miles, and 5-6 Jr. Tiana Long. (Nataya Strader and Cameryn Ridderikhoff were not available tonight due to an injury and illness).
Grant County trailed 36-35 after three quarters but rallied to defeat Madison Central by the score of 50-47. There were three ties and 10 lead changes in this game. Grant County shot 41.9% from the field including seven of 17 from the three point line. The Lady Braves connected on seven of 11 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Madison Central turnovers. Madison Central shot 33.3% from the field including five of 22 from beyond the arc. The Lady Indians connected on eight of 11 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 16 Grant County turnovers.
Caroline Barnes led Grant County with 17 points including two three point baskets, and three rebounds. Olivia Ginn added 12 points including two three point baskets, two rebounds, four assists, and five steals. Sarah Russell recorded eight points, 19 rebounds, and five assists. Jada Cummins chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets and three assists.
5-7 Sr. Olivia Metcalfe led Madison Central with 14 points including two three point baskets and six rebounds. Brittany Campbell added 11 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Brooke Campbell recorded 11 points and four steals. Jordynn Miles chipped in with six points, three assists, and two steals. Eden Carter pulled down eight rebounds.
