Ashland Blazer defeated Boyd County by the score of 49-21. Ashland Blazer recorded 18 first downs and 420 yards of total offense. The Tomcats were penalized five times for 70 yards. Boyd County recorded 15 first downs and 209 yards of total offense. The Lions were penalized nine times for 65 yards and had a pass intercepted..
Braxton Jennings led Ashland Blazer’s ground game with 94 yards and four touchdowns on 11 carries. Cameron Davis carried the ball nine times for 53 yards and a touchdown. LaBryant Strader recorded 47 yards on six carries. Maverick Ashby chipped in with 35 yards on seven carries. LaBryant Strader completed 12 of 18 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns. Cameron Davis caught four passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns. Sam Lyons caught four passes for 44 yards. Braxton Jennings recorded three receptions for 19 yards. Adam Frame led the defense with 12 solo and three assisted tackles. Keshawn Newman added five solo and five assisted tackles. Maverick Ashby recorded six solo tackles. Ryland Kelley chipped in with five solo and one assisted tackles. JJ Keyes added five solo tackles. Braxton Jennings intercepted a pass.
Rhett Holbrook led Boyd County’s ground game with 36 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Marcus Brumfield added 15 yards on four carries. Erik Germann recorded 14 yards on eight carries. Rhett Holbrook completed 15 of 27 passes for 146 yards and one touchdown with one interception. Kaleb Kelley caught five passes for 61 yards. Marcus Brumfield added three receptions for 35 yards and a touchdown. Cole Hicks recorded four receptions for 16 yards. Rhett Holbrrok scored on a 90 yard kick off return. Erik Germann led the defense with four solo and 10 assisted tackles. Brody Castle and Nate Manning each recorded one solo and seven assisted tackles. John Waiters added seven assisted tackles.
