Highlands had to much offense tonight as they earned a 42-14 victory over Conner on the road. Highland recorded 546 yards of total offense. The Bluebirds were penalized seven times for 70 yards and lost a fumble. Conner recorded 320 yards of total offense. The Cougars were penalized twice for 15 yards and lost a fumble.
Deven James led Highlands’ ground game with 101 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries. Gabe Williams added 52 yards on three carries. Ethan Grimm recorded 25 yards on two carries. Rio Litmer chipped in with 17 yards on three carries. Rio Litmer completed 26 of 32 passes for 335 yards and four touchdowns. Jackson Arnold caught 11 passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns. Tayden Lorenzen added six receptions for 67 yards and two touchdowns. John Feldbrugge recorded three receptions for 37 yards. Thomas Hicks led the defense with six solo and seven assisted tackles. Ethan Grimm added four solo and eight assisted tackles. Isaac Neimann recorded two solo and six assisted tackles. Tommy Ferring chipped in with two solo and five assisted tackles. Gabe Williams recorded four solo and two assistede tackles. Dominic Gregory recovered a fumble he returned 32 yards.
Wyatt Hatfield led Conner’s ground game with 205 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries. Cordion Abernathy added 31 yards on nine carries. Shepherd Dozier recorded 27 yards on three carries. Wyatt Hatfield completed five of 16 passes for 58 yards. Chase Caplinger caught one pass for 30 yards. Cordion Abernathy added one reception for 12 yards. Aydin Depenbrock recorded two receptions for 12 yards. Shepherd Dozier led the defense with six solo and four assisted tackles. Kannon Lawson added five solo and four assisted tackles. Chase Caplinger recorded five solo and three assisted tackles. Cordion Abernathy chipped in with four solo and three assisted tackles. Dylan Stewart recorded four solo and two assisted tackles. Camryn Correll recovered a fumble.
