Frederick Douglass dominated play tonight on a 35-0 victory over George Rogers Clark. Frederick Douglass recorded 16 first downs and 326 yards of total offense. The Broncos were penalized three times for 35 yards and lost a fumble. George Rogers Clark recorded six first downs and 100 yards of total offense. The Cardinals were penalized seven times for 66 yards and had three passes intercepted.
Dakari Talbert led Frederick Douglass’ ground game with 88 yards and a touchdown on six carries. Peyton Smith carried the ball four times for 25 yards and a touchdown. Pharo Watts added 23 yards on five carries. TayTay Allen chipped in with 19 yards on two carries. Jaxon Strautman carried the ball five times for 16 yards and a touchdown. Jaxon Strautman completed 12 of 16 passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns. Aveion Chenault caught five passes for 63 yards and a touchdown. Derion Talbert added four receptions for 13 yards. Peyton Smith caught a 39 yard touchdown reception. Braylon Moss returned one kickoff for 16 yards. Tacori Fields led the defense with one solo and three assisted tackles. Zion Stozier also recorded one solo and three assisted tackles. Elijah Ward added three solo tackles. Marcus Newcomb added two solo and one assisted tackles resulting in losses totaling 12 yards. Logan Busson chipped in with one solo and assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a five yard loss. Elie Mongengo, Dacoldus Fields, and Wes Benson each intercepted a pass.
JD Mastin led George Rogers Clark’s ground game with 11 yards on two carries. Yeremiah Israel carried the ball four times for seven yards. Sam Clements completed seven of 12 passes for 62 yards with two interceptions. Trey Davis completed two of five passes for 23 yards with one interception. Gunnar Martin caught two passes for 28 yards. Zaydin Turner added two receptions for 22 yards. Kamden McAlpin recorded two receptions for 21 yards. Braylen Nester returned two kickoffs for 58 yards with a long return of 35 yards. Camahni John returned three kickoffs for 43 yards with a long return of 22 yards. Kamden McAlpin returned one kickoff for 18 yards. Cole Rose led the defense with four solo and five assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a six yard loss. Braylon Nester added four solo and one assisted tackles. Bryan Falls recorded three solo and two assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards. Camahni John chipped in with three solo tackles. Stryker Davidson recorded two solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling four yards and recovered a fumble.
