Southwestern Coach Jeron Dunbar started the following lineup: 6-5 Sr. Zachary Hutchinson, 6-5 Sr. Antajuan Dumphord, 6-7 Jr. Jarrett Simpson, 6-0 Jr. Adam Marcum, and 6-1 Jr. Wyatt Stevenson. Montgomery County coach Jason Mays countered with 6-6 Jr. Luke Fawns, 6-5 So. Tyce Simpson, 6-7 Fr. Adam Terry, 6-3 So. Isaiah Rowlett, and 6-3 Jr. Dawson Gentry.
Montgomery County defeated Southwestern by the score of 76-73. There were three ties and three lead changes in this game. Montgomery County shot 52.5% from the field including 11 of 27 from the three point line. The Indians connected on three of six free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 11 Southwestern turnovers. Southwestern shot 48.4% from the field including five of 10 from beyond the arc. The Warriors connected on eight of 11 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 12 Montgomery County turnovers.
Luke Fawns led Montgomery County with 23 points and three rebounds. Dawson Gentry added 19 points including five three point baskets, three rebounds, and two assists. Andrew Terry recorded 18 points including two three point baskets, 11 rebounds, four assists, two blocked shots, and two steals. Tyce Simpson chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, eight assists, and three steals.
Wyatt Stevenson led Southwestern with 19 points, three rebounds, and three steals. Zachary Hutchinson added 16 points including three three point baskets, three of three free throws, and three rebounds. Antajuan Dumphord recorded 14 points including three of four free throws, 12 rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Jarrett Simpson chipped in with 14 points and nine rebounds.
