Hazard (26-8)  vs.  West Jessamine  (26-8)  -  Hazard led 39-28 midway through the third quarter but West Jessamine outscored the Bulldogs 23-1 the rest of the way to earn a 51-40 victory.  Hazard was zero of 14 from the field in the final quarter and only fout of 25 from the field in the second half.  Part of the problems could be attributed to foul woes as both Robert Warren and Justin Jones picked up their fourth fouls in the third quarter.

West Jessamine shot 45.9% from the field including five of 12 from the three point line.  The Colts connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored eight points off seven Hazard turnovers.  Hazard shot 32% from the field including five of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Bulldogs connected on three of nine free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 16 West Jessamine turnovers.

Elizabethtown  (33-2)  vs.  Iroquois  (32-1) (Championship)  -  Iroquois defeated Elizabethtown 55-47 in overtime to complete the journey that Coach Northington started several years ago when he was hired to resurrect a program that had fallen on hard times.  This was not an easy journey as he had to defeat a strong well-coached Elizabethtown squad as well as compensate for the loss of one of his key players 5-5 Sr. Stafonia Taylor who went down with an injury earlier in the tournament.

Franklin-Simpson  (30-3)  vs.  Iroquois  (29-1)  -  Iroquois defeated Franklin-Simpson 42-36 in overtime in a game in which neither team could find their shooting eye.  Iroquois led 23-14 after three quarters but Franklin-Simpson rallied to outscore Iroquois  18-9 in the fourth quarter to tie the score at 32-32 and force overtime.  Iroquois pulled away in the overtime period to earn the victory.

Montgomery County  (27-3)  vs.  Christian Academy of Louisville  (25-4)  -  Mackenzie Lee hit a layup in the closing seconds to give Montgomery County a 35-33 victory over CAL.  Montgomery County led 26-20 at the end of three quarters but CAL rallied to tie the score at 33-33.

Montgomery County shot 38.9% from the field including only one of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Indians connected on six of seven free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 17 CAL turnovers.  CAL shot 40% from the field including only two of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Centurions connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored  nine points off 13 Montgomery County turnovers.

Simon Kenton  (27-4)  vs.  Breathitt County  (23-7)  -  Simon Kenton trailed Breathitt County 28-26 after three quarters but outscored the Lady Cats 20-9 in the final quarter to take a 46-37 victory.  Simon Kenton scored 23 points off 21 Breathitt County turnovers and held a 21-9 advantage in three point points.

Simon Kenton shot 28.3% from the field including seven of 27 from the three point line.  The Lady Pioneers connected on nine of 14 free throws and pulled down 34 rebounds.  Breathitt County shot 32.4% from the field including three of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cats connected on 10 of 21 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 11 Simon Kenton turnovers.

Johnson Central  (26-5)  vs.  Casey County  (27-3)  -  Casey County held Johnson Central to 16.2% from the field including 13% in the second half in a 54-31 victory.  Casey County shot 36.8% from the field including three of 14 from the three point line.  The Lady Rebels connected on 23 of 27 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 13 Johnson Central turnovers.  Johnson Central shot 16.2% from the field including zero of two from beyond the arc.  The Lady Eagles connected on 19 of 27 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored four points off 16 Casey County turnovers.

Richmond KY March 10th

Lexington Catholic  (24-7)  vs.  Scott County (28-3) (Championship)  -  6-3 So. Taylor Martin hit two free throws with 3.8 seconds remaining on the clock to give Lexington Catholic a 68-67 victory over Scott County.  Scott County gave a courageous effort despite the absence of 6-8 Sr. Richie Phares (18ppg, 9rpg) who suffered a season ending ACL injury in a semifinal win.

Lexington Catholic raced out to an 8-0 lead but Scott County rallied to take a 13-12 lead at the end of the first quarter on a basket by Chad Jackson.  The game was back-and forth in the second quarter but Lexington Catholic took a 33-32 lead at the intermission on a basket by Tanner Peurach.  Scott County took a 54-47 lead in the third quarter but Lexington Catholic fought back and tied the game on a three point bomb at the buzzer by Scott Schuette.  The game remained close in the final quarter but Scott County took a late 67-64 lead.  Taylor Botkin cut the deficit to one; 67-66 with a field goal.  Scott County went down, missed a tough shot in the lane and a putback and LexCath got the ball with 28.5 seconds on the clock.  The Knights ran down the clock setting the stage for Martin's late seconds heroics.

Lexington Catholic shot 47.5% from the field including five of 14 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on seven of 12 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 17 Scott County turnovers.  Scott County shot 45.3% from the field including seven of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Cardinals connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 11 Lexington Catholic turnovers. 

6-3 Sr. Vee Sanford led Lexington Catholic with 26 points.  6-3 Sr. Taylor Botkin and 6-0 Fr. Jaylen Beckham added 10 points each.  6-7 Jr. tanner Peurach battled inside all night recording six points and eight blocked shots.

6-2 Jr. Ge-Lawn Guyn led Scott County with 31 points including three three point baskets.  6-4 Jr. Chad Jackson added 16 points and nine rebounds.  6-8 Jr. Dakotah Euton recorded 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Butler  (19-6)  vs.  Iroquois  (28-1)  (Championship)  -  Iroquois scored 26 points off 29 Butler turnovers in a 51-41 victory.  Iroquois shot 35.7% from the field including only one of 11 from the three point line.  The Lady Raiders connected on 10 of 18 free throws and  pulled down 28 rebounds. Butler shot 45.9% from the field including two of seven from beyond the arc.  The Bearettes connected on five of 10 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored five points off seven Iroquois turnovers.  Butler attempted 19 more shots from the field (56-37) than Iroquois and held an 18-2 advantage in bench scoring.

Christian Academy of Louisville  (24-4)  Vs.  Sacred Heart Academy  (25-4) (Championship) - Sacred Heart led 39-37 after three quarters but CAL rallied in the final period to win by a score of 59-49.  CAL held a 21-11 advantage in free throw points and an 11-2 advantage in second chance points.

CAL shot 46.3% from the field including zero of five from the three point line.  The Lady Centurions connected on 21 of 28 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 10 Sacred Heart turnovers.  Sacred Heart shot 39.1% from the field including two of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Valkyries connected on 11 of 23 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 10 CAL turnovers.

Lexington Christian Academy  (28-4)  vs Scott County  (17-14) (Championship)  -  LCA pulled away in the second half to defeat Scott County 81-59.  The game was close in the first half with Scott County leading 29-24 before LCA rallied to lead 41 -33 at halftime.

LCA shot 43.5% from the field including nine of 26 from the three point line.  The Lady Eagles connected on 12 of 15 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 19 Scott County turnovers.  Scott County shot 32.8% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 11 of 14 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 13 points off  14 LCA turnovers.

Lafayette ( 11-18)  vs.  Scott County  (27-3)  (Semifinal)  -  Lafayette led 51-50 at the end of three quarters but Scott County rallied to defeat the Generals by a score of 78-68.  This was accomplished without the services of 6-8 Sr. Richie Phares who suffered a knee injury in the first half and could not return for the second half.  Scott County held a 26-15 advantage in free throw points.

Scott County shot 55.3% from the field including zero of four from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 26 of 39 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 14 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 35.3% from the field including five of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Generals connected on 15 of 19 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 17 Scott County turnovers.
