New Philadelphia coach Chad Spurgeon started the following lineup: 6-5 Sr. Marco Columbo, 6-4 Sr. Caleb Beans, 6-6 Sr. Ethan Boose, 5-8 Jr. Dylan Hagan, and 6-2 Sr. JoVohn Morrow. Johnson Central coach Tommy McKenzie countered with 6-6 Jr. Kyle Gullett, 6-6 Jr. Truman Salyer, 6-9 Sr. Shane Hall, 5-8 Jr. Dalton Adkins, and 5-11 Sr. Slade McPeek.
Johnson Central defeated New Philadelphia by a score of 74-65. Johnson Central shot 61.9% from the field including three of six from the three point line. The Golden Eagles connected on 19 of 26 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 16 New Philadelphia turnovers. New Philadelphia shot 34.9% from the field including eight of 26 from beyond the arc. The Quakers connected on 13 of 20 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 22 Johnson Central turnovers.
Slade McPeek led Johnson Central with 17 points. Shane Hall added 14 points, 11 rebounds, and nine blocked shots. Kyle Gullett also scored 14 points including two three point baskets and four steals.
Ethan Boose led New Philadelphia with 27 points including two three point baskets and 13 rebounds. Marco Columbo added 19 points including two three point baskets and six steals. Dylan Hagan recorded 13 points including four three point baskets and four assists.
