The 13^th Regions’ top two teams clashed tonight in a battle of the titans before a deafening crowd tonight for bragging rights in the region.  Knox Central was without the services of their outstanding big man 6-6 240 pound So. Gavin Chadwell and North Laurel had the disadvantage of playing before a loud, partisan crowd.  North Laurel captured a 90-86 decision in a game that lived up to its advanced billing.  North Laurel raced out to an early advantage and led 26-11 at the end of the first quarter.  However as expected Knox Central battled back and trailed 70-67 after three quarters.  Knox Central pulled to within 1; 75-74 mid way through the final stanza  but North Laurel hit their free throws down the stretch to ensure the victory.

North Laurel shot 47.3% from the field including eight of 20 from the three point line.  The Jaguars connected on 12 of 15 free throws and pulled down 31 rebounds.  Knox Central shot 47.8% from the field including seven of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Panthers connected on 15 of 18 free throws and pulled down 43 rebounds.

6-3 Jr. Reed Sheppard led North Laurel with 37 points including three three point baskets, six of seven free throws and 11 rebounds.  6-4 Jr. Ryan Davidson added 28 points including five of six free throws and nine rebounds.  6-0 So. Brody Brock chipped in with 10 points.

Lina Guerra threaded a pass to a driving Kessaney Melton for a basket at 5.3 seconds left in the game to give what proved to be the winning basket in an improbable 69-67 Madison Central comeback victory over East Jessamine.  Madison Central trailed by 17 points in the third quarter and trailed 50-36 after three quarters.  Madison Central rallied and outscored East Jessamine 33-17 in the final quarter.  The score was tied five times and there were six lead changes in the game.  Madison Central shot 45.5% from the field including five of 16 from the three point line.  The Lady Indians connected on 14 of 19 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 15 East Jessamine turnovers.  East Jessamine shot 39.3% from the field including seven of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Jaguars connected on 16 of 28 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 14 Madison Central turnovers.

Scott County survived a double overtime marathon to win a gut-check 57-54 decision over Madison Southern.  There were 14 lead changes and 10 ties in this game.  The finish was improbable as Scott County lost Tyra Young, Kenady Tompkins, and Emma Price via the foul route.  There were players who stepped up to propel the Lady Cardinals to the win.  5-5 Jr. Kelsie Hall hit two big baskets down the stretch and Maleiyah Moore scored 12 of her 15 points in the two overtime periods.  Scott County shot 40% from the field including two of 13 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 15 of 18 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored nine points off 11 Madison Southern turnovers.  Madison Southern shot 25% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Eagles connected on 24 of 35 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 19 Scott County turnovers.
