Covington Catholic coach Sco tt Ruthsatz started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Brady Hussey, 6-0 Jr. Nolan Ruthsatz, 6-9 Sr. Caden Miller, 5-11 So. Cash Harney, and 5-11 So. Athens McGillis. Newport coach Rodney Snapp countered with 6-3 Jr. Noah Silverton, 6-2 Sr. DeShaun Jackson, 6-7 So. James Turner, 6-0 Sr. Jabari Covington, and 6-1 So. Taylen Kinney.

The score was tied 29-29 at halftime but Covington Catholic outscored Newport 23-15 in the third quarter on their way to a 73-63 victory. The score was tied four times and there were six lead changes in the game. Covington Catholic shot 60.4% from the field including eight of 15 from the three point line. The Colonels connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 10 points off five Newport turnovers. Newport shot 39.3% from the field including seven of 22 from beyond the arc. The Wildcats connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 12 Covington Catholic turnovers.

Caden Miller led Covington Catholic with 15 points, four rebounds, two assists, and five blocked shots. Brady Hussey added 15 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, and four assists. Athens McGillis recorded 14 points, four rebounds, and six assists. Nolan Ruthsatz chipped in with 11 points including three three point baskets and six rebounds. Cash Harney added 10 points. 6-6 So. Donavan Bradshaw recorded eight points on four of four from the field and two rebounds.

Taylen Kinney led Newport with 18 points including seven of seven from the free throw line, three rebounds, and three assists. James Turner added 15 points and three rebounds. DeShaun Jackson recorded 14 points including two three point baskets, eight rebounds, and two assists. Henry Clay defeated Montgomery County by the score of 70-50. Henry Clay shot 51% from the field including 11 of 18 from the three point line. The Lady Blue Devils connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 18 Montgomery County turnovers. Montgomery County shot 37% from the field including four of 13 from beyond the arc. The Lady Indians connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 16 Henry Clay turnovers.

Emily Johnson led Henry Clay with 17 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Lexington Catholic raced out to a 25-9 first quarter lead on their way to a 79-50 victory over Elizabethtown. Lexington Catholic shot 53.3% from the field including 10 of 24 from the three point line. The Knights connected on five of seven free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 19 Elizabethtown turnovers. Elizabethtown shot 50% from the field including six of 16 from beyond the arc. The Panthers connected on six of 12 free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored seven points off 10 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

John Reinhart led lexington Catholic with 25 points including six three point baskets. Tyler Doyle added 22 points including two three point baskets and four assists. Rowan Williams recorded 12 points and 13 rebounds.

The Royals connected on 15 of 18 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 15 Lexington Christian Academy turnovers. Blake Reed led Mason County with 23 points including five three point baskets, four of four free throws, and six rebounds. Bryan Station outscored Madison Central 20-4 in the second quarter on their way to a 56-41 victory. The score was tied twice and there were four lead changes in the game. Bryan Station shot 46.7% from the field including three of 11 from the three point line. The Defenders connected on 11 of 16 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 18 Madison Central turnovers. Madison Central shot 35.6% from the field including four of 17 from beyond the arc. The Indians connected on five of five free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 13 Bryan Station turnovers.

Amari Owens led Bryan Station with 17 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Owens used his quickness and strength to get to the rim at will. 5-11 Jr. Rashaad Faulkner added 10 points including two three point baskets and three steals. Tates Creek led by seven points with 1:04 left in the game but LCA rallied and won the game 65-64 on a three point basket by Simon King with seconds remaining on the clock. Tates Creek got off a late shot but it failed to connect giving LCA the victory. There were six times and eight lead changes in the game. LCA shot 44.4% from the field including seven of 20 from the three point line. The Eagles connected on 10 of 15 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 10 Tates Creek turnovers. Tates Creek shot 40.8% from the field including seven of 21 from beyond the arc. The Commodores connected on 17 of 24 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 11 LCA turnovers.

Andersen Green led LCA with 18 points including two three point baskets, four of four free throws, four rebounds, and three assists.
