Trinity’s defense came up big tonight in a 23-13 road victory over Frederick Douglass. The Shamrocks intercepted two passes, recorded two fumble, and had key defensive stops all evening. Trinity recorded seven first downs and 133 yards of total offense. The Shamrocks were penalized 12 times for 82 yards. Frederick Douglass recorded eight first downs and 130 yards of total offense. The Broncos were penalized six times for 59 yards, lost two fumbles, and had two passes intercepted.

Jamaurion Berry led Trinity’s ground game with 44 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. Zach Floyd carried the ball five times for 15 yards. Zane Johnson completed 10 of 23 passes for 82 yards and two touchdowns. Kaleb Warner caught three passes for 18 yards and a touchdown. Jamaurion Berry added two receptions for eight yards and a touchdown. Joseph Ford caight one pass for 37 yards. John Wilson returned two kickoffs for 51 yards with a long return of 33 yards. Joseph Ford led the defense with five solo and four assisted tackles. Sekou Kamara added five solo and one assisted tackles. Caleb Ricks recorded one solo and six assisted tackles and intercepted a pass. Bailey Vance added two solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling nine yards. Sonny Bratcher-Gray also intercepted a pass. Keandre Thompson and AJ Hughes each recovered a fumble.

Dakari Talbert led Frederick Douglass’ ground game with 35 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Terry Cayson carried the ball six times for 26 yards. Jaxon Strautman completed five of 14 passes for 65 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions. Aveion Chenault caught two passes for 56 yards and a touchdown. Aveion Chenault returned four punts for 68 yards with a long return of 51 yards. Terry Cayson returned three kickoffs for 67 yards with a long return of 27 yards. Kaden Clay led the defense with three solo and two assisted tackles. Logan Busson and Cionne Conne added three solo and one assisted tackles each with two of Busson’s tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards.

Great Crossing defeated Scott County by the score of 46-15 to win a big road game against their cross town rival. Great Crossing recorded 19 first downs and 366 yards of total offense. The Warhawks were penalized five times for 44 yards and lost a fumble. Scott County recorded 13 first downs and 231 yards of total offense. The Cardinals were penalized 10 times for 67 yards, lost three fumbles, and had one pass intercepted.

Luke Ballard led Great Crossing’s ground game with 167 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries. Clayton Shaddix carried the ball four times for 49 yards and two touchdowns. Jeremiah Clark recorded 31 yards and a touchdown on eight carries. Jeremiah Clark completed eight of 14 passes for 119 yards and one touchdown. Taron Lewis caught three passes for 44 yards and a touchdown. Julez Hill added two receptions for 11 yards. Britton Persley and Clayton Shaddix each caught one pass for 33 and 28 yards respectively. Jacob Johnson returned one punt for 17 yards and returned three kickoffs for 63 yards with a long return of 26 yards. Jeremiah Clark punted three times for a 41.0 average with a long punt of 45 yards and two downed inside the 20 yard line. Wyatt Highly led the defense with eight solo and four assisted tackles. Carson Kidwell added five solo and three assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards and recorded a safety. Daniel Corn recorded four solo and three assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards. Clayton Shaddix recorded three solo and three assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling four yards and recovered a fumble. Jacob Johnson and Logan Clayton each recovered a fumble and Caden Bays intercepted a pass.

Kayne Garrett led Scott County’s ground game with 97 yards on 18 carries. Ali Hamdiyah carried the ball seven times for 64 yards. Andrew Hickey ran for one touchdown. Andrew Hickey completed six of 11 passes for 49 yards and one touchdown with one interception. Eli Lilly caught four passes for 39 yards and one touchdown. Ali Hamdiyah returned two kickoffs for 85 yards with a long return of 72 yards. Antonio Frye returned two kickoffs for 24 yards with a long return of 12 yards. Timmy Emongo returned one punt for seven yards. Antonio Frye led the defense with six solo and four assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 13 yards and recovered a fumble. Woodford County’s defense held Paul Laurence Dunbar to 33 yards of total offense and an anemic 0.8 yards per offensive play in a 42-0 victory over the Bulldogs tonight. Woodford County recorded 12 first downs and 298 yards of total offense. The Yellow Jackets were penalized six times for 66 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted. Paul Laurence Dunbar recorded six first downs and 33 yards of total offense. The Bulldogs were penalized twice for 17 yards and lost four fumbles.

Darrian Tomlin led Woodford County’s ground game with 40 yards on four carries. Jaiden Shegog carried the ball once for 36 yards and a touchdown. Justus Wertzler completed six of eight passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. Lemmie Coons completed three of five passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns. Wyatt Crowe caught three passes for 103 yards and a touchdown. Makhi Smith added three receptions for 46 yards and two touchdowns. Omari Jointer added a nine yard touchdown reception. Tates Creek defeated Madison Southern by the score of 51-32 in a game highlighted by offensive fireworks. There were six touchdowns in the game that covered more than 70 yards. Tates Creek recorded 16 first downs and 562 yards of total offense. The Commodores were penalized 11 times for 100 yards. Madison Southern recorded 14 first downs and 365 yards of total offense. The Eagles were penalized eight times for 46 yards and lost a fumble.

BJ Evans led Tates Creek’s ground game with 310 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries. Darnell Burnside completed 10 of 16 passes for 237 yards and three touchdowns. Marquis Hale caught four passes for 67 yards and a touchdown. Luke Cooper added three receptions for 157 yards and two touchdowns. K. Bell-Pointer returned one kickoff for 19 yards. Skylar Clay returned two kickoffs for 15 yards with a long return of 14 yards. Detrell Johnson led the defense with seven solo and five assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 13 yards. Max Stump added four solo and two assisted tackles. Henry County defeated Lafayette by the score of 27-7. Henry County recorded 23 first downs and 374 yards of total offense. They were penalized eight times for 71 yards. Lafayette recorded nine first downs and 180 yards of total offense. The Generals were penalized eight times for 60 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Ray Matthews led Henry County’s ground game with 184 yards and one touchdown on 25 carries. Luke Highfill added 82 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. Jason Ray recorded 17 yards on two carries. Luke Highfill completed eight of 15 passes for 79 yards and one touchdown. Landon McMahan caught three passes for 44 yards. B. McCollum caught two passes for 18 yards. Ray Matthews caught a 10 yard touchdown pass. B. McCollum returned two punts for 27 yards with a long return of 21 yards. Bodey Lyons led the defense with four solo tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 20 yards. Brandon Moore and Tyler King each recorded three solo tackles. Zane Tackett added two solo tackles with his two tackles resulting in losses totaling 11 yards. Luke Highfill recovered a fumble.

CJ Young led Lafayette’s ground game with 67 yards and a touchdown on three carries. Triston Taylor carried the ball six times for 33 yards. J. Kondo completed seven of 14 passes for 59 yards with one interception. Triston Taylor caught three passes for 12 yards. Jackson Grantz added two receptions for 38 yards. Ryland Messer returned four kickoffs for 47 yards with a long return of 26 yards. Triston Taylor returned one kickoff for 28 yards. Jackson Grantz led the defense with seven solo and one assisted tackles. Matthew Hardin added seven solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling two yards. J. Stephens and Keiwan Franklin each recorded five solo tackles.

Cooper dominated play tonight in a 47-0 shut out victory over Henry Clay. Cooper recorded 14 first downs and 354 yards of total offense. The Jaguars were penalized twice for 19 yards. Henry Clay recorded three first downs and 87 yards of total offense. The Blue Devils were penalized five times for 49 yards and lost a fumble.

Keegan Mahar led Cooper’s ground game with 111 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries. Jaiden Combs carried the ball once for 42 yards and a touchdown.. Dsan Ritchie recorded 26 yards and a touchdown on three carries. Cam O’Hara completed eight of nine passes for 151 yards and three touchdowns. Drew Hartman completed two of three passes for 18 yards. Jaiden Combs caught three passes for 79 yards and two touchdowns. Malachi Ewell added two receptions for 19 yards. Austin Alexander recorded two receptions for 16 yards. Isaiah Johnson added a 40 yard touchdown recption. Ryker Campbell returned two punts for 71 yards with a long return of 54 yards. Jaiden Combs returned one kickoff for 48 yards.Max Wethington led the defense with three solo and one assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling six yards.. Ryker Campbell also recorded three solo and one assisted tackles. Dax Bolen recorded two solo and one assisted tackles with one of tackles resulting in a 12 yard loss and recovered a fumble.

Nic Jones led Henry Clay’s ground game with 29 yards on six carries. Patrick Beya carried the ball six times for 23 yards. Ethan Cooper recorded 22 yards on one rushing attempt. Rohan Taylor completed two of nine passes for -1 yards. Liam Marrs completed two of five passes for eight yards. Keontae Edwards and Isaiah McQueen each caught one pass for five yards. Keontae Edwards returned a punt for 35 yards. Isaiah McQueen returned one kickoff for 36 yards. Antoine Webb returned four kickoffs for 70 yards with a long return of 25 yards. Ryle pulled away in the final quarter to defeat Covington Catholic by the score of 30-14. Covington Catholic mistakes in the final quarter and the loss of QB Cash Harney on a play in the third quarter was to much for the Colonels to overcome tonight. Ryle recorded 12 first downs and 261 yards of total offense and was penalized seven times for 35 yards. Covington Catholic recorded eight first downs and 212 yards of total offense and was penalized eight times for 59 yards.

Jacob Savage led Ryle’s ground game with 109 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries. Jaden Galicia added 33 yards on eight carries. Nathan Verax recorded 25 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. Nathan Verax completed 10 of 18 passes for 94 yards and one touchdown with one interception. Landon Lorms caught five passes for 61 yards and a touchdown. Jacob Savage added two receptions for 22 yards. Jacob Savage led the defense with five solo and five assisted tackles. Kai Workman added seven solo and one assisted tackles. Ryan Handorf recorded four solo and two assisted tackles. Dillon Smith recorded a safety and Aysaiah Riddeck recorded a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown.

Cash Harney led Covington Catholic’s ground game with 95 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. Dylan Gaise carried the ball nine times for 35 yards. Cash Harney completed nine of 16 passes for 47 yards. Dylan Gaiser completed his only pass for a 24 yard touchdown strike. Emmett Queen completed one of four passes for two yards. Donovan Bradshaw caught three passes for 47 yards and a touchdown. Dylan Gaiser added two receptions for 10 yards. Tate Kruer led the defense with 11 solo and three assisted tackles, recovered a fumble, and intercepted a pass. Tucker Evans added five solo and five assisted tackles. Jonny Lind and Logan Sanning each recorded four solo tackles/

Simon Kenton rolled to a 50-35 road victory over Dixie Heights to open their season. Simon Kenton recorded 532 yards of total offense, was penalized twice for 20 yards, and did not suffer any turnovers. Dixie Heights recorded 382 yards of total offense, was penalized seven times for 64 yards and had one pass intercepted. Dixie Heights graduated several key players from their defensive unit and had trouble slowing the Pioneers tonight.

Brady Lee led Simon Kenton’s ground game with 106 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. Torin Turner carried the ball 17 times for 84 yards and a touchdown. Tysin Weaver added 12 yards and a touchdown on three carries. Brady Lee completed 21 of 43 passes for 304 yards and three touchdowns. Grayson Harris caught nine passes for 189 yards and two touchdowns. Tysin Weaver added six receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown. Tucker Ober led the defense with six solo and seven assisted tackles. Jackson Kellerman added three solo and seven assisted tackles and intercepted a pass he returned for 19 yards. Paul Snyder recorded five solo and five assisted tackles. Braydon Schoborg chipped in with two solo and seven assisted tackles.

Armani Gregg led Dixie Heights ground attack with 213 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries. David Anderson carried the ball 10 times for 55 yards and a touchdown. Mason Fields completed nine of 16 passes for 90 yards and a touchdown with one interception. JJ Kriger caught three passes for 56 yards and a touchdown. Hudson Morris added three receptions for 22 yards.

The Broncos were penalized eight times for 75 yards. Bowling Green recorded 14 first downs and 302 yards of total offense. The Purples were penalized four times for 25 yards and lost a fumble.

Dakari Talbert led Frederick Douglass’ ground game with 157 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. Pharo Watts added 49 yards and a touchdown on six carries. TayTay Allen recorded 42 yards and a touchdown on eight carries. Jaxon Strautman completed five of eight passes for 44 yards and two touchdowns. Aveion Chenault caught four passes for 34 yards and two touchdowns. Aveion Chenault returned two punts for 35 yards with a long return of 19 yards. Nelson Irakiza led the defense with three solo and one assisted tackles. Zion Strozler and Cionne Conn each recorded three solo tackles. Kaden Clay added one solo and three assisted tackles and recovered a fumble he returned 27 yards. Logan Busson recorded two solo tackles which resulted in losses totaling nine yards.

Deuce Bailey led Bowling Green’s ground game with 48 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. Jaxen Smith added 26 yards and a touchdown on three carries. Nick Reed recorded 25 yards on seven carries. Deuce Bailey completed 15 of 30 passes for 187 yards. Trevy Barber caught six passes for 75 yards. Ethan Kirkwood added two receptions for 68 yards. Jaxen Smith recorded two receptions for 18 yards. Trevy Barber, Jaxen Smith, and Ethan Warder each returned one kickoff for 45, 16, and 15 yards respectively. Braden Widener kicked off three times with three touch backs. Montrez Trussell led the defense with six solo and six assisted tackles with 4.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 21 yards.
