Frederick Douglass’ quick strike big play capabilities proved to much for Tates Creek tonight as the Broncos earned a 50-14 victory on the road. Frederick Douglass recorded 17 first downs and 446 yards of total offense. The Broncos were penalized 10 times for 127 yards. Tates Creek recorded 13 first downs and 233 yards of total offense. The Commodores were penalized four times for 29 yards and had a pass intercepted.

Dakari Talbert led the Frederick Douglass ground game with 73 yards and a touchdown on one carry. Jaxon Strautman added 64 yards on four carries. Jeremiah Turner recorded 46 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. Pharo Watts chipped in with 37 yards and a touchdown on six carries. Peyton Smith carried the ball five times for 33 yards and a touchdown. Jaxon Strautman completed five of 10 passes for 141 yards and two touchdowns. Dakari Talbert caught one pass for 86 yards and a touchdown. Pharo Watts added one reception for 27 yards and a touchdown. Aveion Chenault returned four punts for 106 yards with a long return of 47 yards and returned one kickoff for 88 yards and a touchdown. Jeremiah Turner returned two kickoffs for 24 yards with a long return of 22 yards. Logan Busson led the defense with two solo and three assisted tackles with 1,5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 10 yards and intercepted a pass. Jaxon Strautman recorded three solo tackles. Maddox Jones also recorded three solo tackles. Marcus Newcomb added two solo and one assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 12 yards.

BJ Evans led the Tates Creek ground game with 53 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. Darnell Burnside completed 14 of 22 passes for 163 yards and one touchdown with one interception. Luke Cooper caught seven passes for 72 yards. JT Cooper added five receptions for 69 yards and a touchdown. Marquis Hale recorded one reception for 29 yards. Marquis Hale returned three kickoffs for 48 yards with a long return of 18 yards. Skylar Clay returned one kickoff for 12 yards. Lazarey Warren led the defense with five solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards. Daymond Griffin also recorded five solo and one assisted tackles. D’Vaughn Flowers added four solo and one assisted tackles.

Johnson Central defeated Belfry 48-41 in another exciting battle in the mountains. Johnson Central’s Zack McCoart scored on a three yard run and Cory Hammond kicked the extra point with 45 seconds remaining in the game and Zack McCoart picked off a pass to stop Belfry’s final opportunity. Johnson Central recorded 458 yards of total offense and lost two fumbles. Belfry recorded 444 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.

Zack McCoart led Johnson Central’s ground attack with 183 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries. Logan Music carried the ball 15 times for 101 yards and one touchdown. Austin Slone recorded 81 yards and a touchdown on five carries. Logan Marrow added 54 yards on two touchdowns on 12 carries. Austin Slone completed his only pass for 31 yards. Gabe Conley caught one pass for 31 yards. Dalton Matney added the defense with 12 solo and five assisted tackles. Dylan LeMaster added seven solo and seven assisted tackles and recovered a fumble. Caleb Barnes resorded eifgr solo and four assisted tackles and recovered a fumble. Seth Davis chipped in with four solo and three assisted tackles. Braxton Perry recorded six solo and one assisted tackles. Zack McCoart recorded an interception.

JJ Austin led Belfry’s ground game with 137 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries. Ace Caudill carried the ball four times for 27 yards an da touchdown. JB Woolum recorded 22 yards on six carries. Chase Varney completed 15 of 25 passes for 358 yards and three touchdowns with one interception. Cayden Varney caught five passes for 127 yards. JB Woolum added 119 yards and one touchdown on four receptions. Eli Caudill recorded 64 yards and two touchdowns on two touchdowns. Christopher Hackney caught one pass for 44 yards. Hunter Hylton led the defense with seven solo and 14 assisted tackles. Cayden Varney added four solo and nine assisted tackles. Keaton Deskins recorded three solo and eight assisted tackles. Tristan Chapman added one solo and nine assisted tackles. Dante Davis chipped in with two solo and seven assisted tackles. Alex Long recovered a fumble he returned 20 yards. JB Woolum also recovered a fumble.

Kentucky Country Day overcame some early miscues to defeat DeSales.27-26 in overtime. The score was tied 20-20 after regulation and DeSales scored first in overtime on a 20 yard run by Cameron Bischoff but the run attempt for a two point conversion failed leaving DeSales with a 26-20 lead. Kentucky Country day responded with a Miles Bahe recovery of a teammate’s fumble in the end zone to tie the score. Filip Popa kicked the conversion kick to give KCD the 27-26 overtime victory. Kentucky Country Day recorded 325 yards of total offense while DeSales recorded 287 yards of total offense.

Maclean Cantley led KCD’s ground game with 116 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. Parker Rudolph carries the ball 22 times for 103 yards and a touchdown. Caden Long completed eight of 12 passes for 86 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions. Tyler Wilson caught five passes for 43 yards. Jackson Miles added one reception for 17 yards and a touchdown. Brohm Garlove recorded one reception for 16 yards. Rocco Huffman led the defense with four solo and two assisted tackles with two sacks. Bowen Jackson added three solo and five assisted tackles. Pierce Bohm recorded two solo and five assisted tackles. Chris Venning recorded five solo and two assisted tackles. Maclean Cantley recovered three fumbles. Pierce Wilson, Miles Bahe, and Caden Long each recovered a fumble.

Kris England led DeSales ground game with nine yards and a touchdown on four carries. Cameron Bischoff carried the ball four times for five yards and a touchdown. Cameron Bischoff completed 18 of 28 passes for 295 yards and a touchdown. DaVon Martin caught six passes for 118 yards and a touchdown. Silas Jones added five receptions for 103 yards. Kingston Merritt recorded five receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown.

Male defeated St. Xavier in overtime by the score of 35-34. St. Xavier took a 27-13 late in the third quarter but Male’s Jordan Williams connected with Antonio Harris on a 53 yard scoring pass and a conversion kick by Luke Vallandingham with a minute remaining in regulation to tie the score at 27-27. St. Xavier went on offense first in overtime and scored on a three yard run by Mason Trimble and a conversion kick by Logan Zoeller to give the Tigers a 34-27 lead. Male answered on a 10 yard run by Chayce Burton and elected to go for the win with a two point conversion. Antonio Harris connected on a pass to Andrew Vrbancic for a 35-34 victory. St. Xavier was hampered tonight by their top ground threat Manny Gray due to an injury. Male recorded 338 yards of total offense while St. Xavier recorded 382 yards of total offense.

Chayce Burton led Male’s ground game with 116 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries. Antonio Harris carried the ball five times for 68 yards and a touchdown. Jordan Williams completed seven of 14 passes for 167 yards and three touchdowns. Antonio Harris caught three passes for 98 yards and two touchdowns. Andrew Vrbancic added two receptions for 32 yards and a touchdown. Canmden Angelina recorded one reception for 28 yards. Isaac Sowells led the defense with two solo and six assists with two sacks. Solomon Conley added three solo and five assisted tackles. Steron Davidson recorded four solo and two assisted tackles. Corneilious Williams added five solo tackles with one sack.

Marlon Harbin III led St. Xavier’s ground game with 45 yards on 13 carries. Mason Trimble carried the ball 13 times for 30 yards and two touchdowns. Mason Trimble completed 18 of 27 passes for 307 yards and three touchdowns. Lucas Shelton caught three passes for 108 yards. Marlon Harbin III added five receptions for 82 yards and a touchdown. Collins defeated Paul Laurence Dunbar 35-0 in a running clock shutout. Collins QB Kade Goodin a dual threat proved to be to much for the Dunbar defense as he accounted for all five Collins touchdowns and recorded all his statistics in the first half and set out after intermission. Collins recorded 14 first downs and 328 yards of total offense. The Titans were penalized seven times for 60 yards. Paul Laurence Dunbar recorded six first downs and 115 yards of total offense. The Bulldogs were penalized eight times for 55 yards, lost two fumbles, and had four passes intercepted.

Kade Goodin led Collins ground game with 112 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries. Marcus Stoner carried the ball nine times for 39 yards. Aviyan Delaney recorded 32 yards on three carries. Kade Goodin completed nine of 12 passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns. Quinten Wooten caught two passes for 60 yards and a touchdown. Jason Hence added two receptions for 29 yards. Joshua Lainhart recorded two catches for 15 yards. Logan Huelsman caught a four yard touchdown reception. Dajari Hardy returned two kickoffs for 58 yards with a long return of 39 yards. A’Davion Dale led the defense with three solo and one assisted tackles and intercepted a pass. Marcus Stoner added two solo and two assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling two yards. Debry Larrison recorded three solo tackles. Pacifique Nduwayo led Paul Laurence Dunbar’s ground game with 40 yards on eight carries. Steven Estepp completed five of 11 passes for 52 yards with three interceptions. Jett Derringer completed one of two passes for 28 yards with one interception. Jayshawn Crosby caught three passes for 34 yards. Conner Norsworthy added two receptions for 18 yards. Dominic Faulkner recorded one reception for 28 yards. Dominic Faulkner returned two kickoffs for 57 yards with a long return of 36 yards. Jayshawn Crosby returned two kickoffs for 41 yards with a long return 21 yards. Grayson Rogers led the defense with one solo and three assisted tackles. Covington Catholic utilized a punishing ground game and a ballhawking defense to defeat Simon Kenton by the score of 42-3. Covington Catholic recorded 23 first downs and 516 yards of total offense. The Colonels were penalized five times for 43 yards. Simon Kenton recorded 15 first downs and 261 yards of total offense. The Pioneers were penalized five times for 35 yards and had four passes intercepted.

Dylan Gaiser led Covington Catholic’s ground game with 210 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries. Cash Harney carried the ball eight times for 126 yards. Andrew Bessler recorded 38 yards and two touchdowns on six carries. Cash Harney completed nine of 16 passes for 108 yards and one touchdown. Zach Brooks caught three passes for 40 yards. Dylan Gaiser added one reception for 31 yards. Owen Pitzer recorded an eight yard touchdown reception. Zach Brooks and Dylan Gaiser each returned one kickoff for 18 and 10 yards respectively. Nicholas Krallman and Andrew Bessler led the defense with six solo tackles each. Dylan Gaiser added five solo tackles. Jackson Payne recorded two solo and three assisted tackles. Zach Brooks, Tate Kruer, Henry Atkins, and Brady Guard each recorded an interception.

Torin Turner led Simon Kenton’s ground game with 22 yards on five carries. Landon Brown carried the ball twice for 18 yards. Brady Lee completed 16 of 27 passes for 216 yards with four interceptions. Grayson Harris caught 10 passes for 162 yards. Tyson Weaver added two receptions for 13 yards. Torin Turner caught two passes for 12 yards. Jackson Miller added one catch for 18 yards. Scott County defeated Urban Prep-Bronzeville/Urban Prep-Englewood (IL) by the score of 48-6 to put one in the win column after suffering two consecutive losses to start the season. Scott County recorded 13 first downs and 245 yards of total offense. The Cardinals were penalized four times for 25 yards. Urban Prep recorded 10 first downs and 137 yards of total offense. The Lions were penalized four times for 34 yards, lost a fumble and had a pass intercepted.

Kayne Garrett led Scott County’s ground game with 73 yards and a touchdown on four carries. Skyler Way carried the ball five times for 35 yards and a touchdown. Jayden Garrett recorded 27 yards on two carries. Timmy Emongo chipped in with 24 yards and two touchdowns on two carries. Ian Keeth carried the ball four times for 22 yards and a touchdown. Andrew Hickey completed two of three passes for 15 yards and two touchdowns. Charlie Ellison completed his only pass for 25 yards. Ryson Baker caught one pass for 25 yards. Eli Lilly caught one pass for 13 yards and a touchdown. Issac York caught one pass for two yards and a touchdown. DuPont Manual defeated Frederick Douglass 35-28 in overtime. Thos was a game of runs as Frederick Douglass took a 14-0 lead but Manual rallied to lead 28-14 before Frederick Douglass scored a late touchdown to force overtime. DuPont Manual got the ball first and took a 35-28 lead on a 10 yard run by Gerian Traynor and a conversion kick by Parker Friedman. Frederick Douglass then got the ball but Dupont Manual stopped them on fourth game to ensure the victory. DuPont Manual recorded 18 first downs and 313 yards of total offense. The Crimsons were penalized five times for 35 yards, lost three fumbles, and had two passes intercepted. Frederick Douglass recorded 10 first downs and 168 yards of total offense. Frederick Douglass was penalized 12 times for 209 yards and had a pass intercepted.

Gerian Traynor led DuPont Manual’s ground game with 94 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries. Kaden Mack carried the ball seven times for 37 yards and a touchdown. Kaden Mack completed 13 of 21 passes for 187 yards and one touchdown with one interception. Brayland Miles caught five passes for 66 yards and a touchdown. Gerian Traynor added two receptions for 51 yards. W. Nofsinger recorded three receptions for 14 yards. W. Nofsinger returned two punts for 21 yards with a long return of 13 yards and returned three kickoffs for 43 yards with a long return of 17 yards. Rashad High returned one kickoff for 21 yards. Parker Friedman kicked off five times for a 56.4 average with four touchbacks. B. Underwood led the defense with five solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a one yard loss. Devin Allen added four solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards. Cameron Jessee recorded four solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling six yards. Leron Brown intercepted a pass he returned 37 yards.

TayTay Allen led Frederick Douglass’ ground game with 33 yards on five carries. Dakari Talbert carried the ball 10 times for 27 yards. Jaxon Strautman completed eight of 27 passes for 91 yards and three touchdowns. Aveion Chenault caught six passes for 60 yards and three touchdowns. Dakari Talbert caught one pass for 32 yards. Aveion Chenault returned two punts for 50 yards with a long return of 27 yards and returned one kickoff for 13 yards. Cionne Conn led the defense with six solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards. Kaden Clay added five solo and one assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards. Logan Busson and Elie Mongengo each recorded five solo tackles. Keenan Banther, Jimmy Dick, and Jarod Suter each recovered a fumble. Aveion Chenault intercepted a pass he returned 33 yards. Marco Hill intercepted a pass he returned 55 yards for a touchdown.

Lexington Christian Academy recorded 24 first teams and 414 yards of total offen se. The Eagles were penalized four times for 21 yards. Pikeville recorded 19 first downs and 483 yards of total offense. The Panthers were penalized twice for 10 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.

Leland Edwards led LCA’s ground attack with 114 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries. Mac Darland carried the ball eight times for 77 yards. Daven Hood recorded 52 yards on six carries. Saxton Howard completed nine of 16 passes for 166 yards and one touchdown. Tyler King caught six passes for 95 yards and one touchdown. Sam Pearson added two receptions for 60 yards. Saxton Howard returned two kickoffs for 46 yards with a long return of 43 yards. Sam Pearson returned two kickoffs for 35 yards with a long return of 26 yards. Hunter Adams led the defense with five solo and six assisted tackles. Thomas Sizemore added four solo and four assisted tackles. Deuce Bailey completed 17 of 29 passes for 230 yards and three touchdowns with one interception. Trevy Barber caught seven passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns.
