Richmond KY March 10th

Lexington Catholic  (24-7)  vs.  Scott County (28-3) (Championship)  -  6-3 So. Taylor Martin hit two free throws with 3.8 seconds remaining on the clock to give Lexington Catholic a 68-67 victory over Scott County.  Scott County gave a courageous effort despite the absence of 6-8 Sr. Richie Phares (18ppg, 9rpg) who suffered a season ending ACL injury in a semifinal win.

Lexington Catholic raced out to an 8-0 lead but Scott County rallied to take a 13-12 lead at the end of the first quarter on a basket by Chad Jackson.  The game was back-and forth in the second quarter but Lexington Catholic took a 33-32 lead at the intermission on a basket by Tanner Peurach.  Scott County took a 54-47 lead in the third quarter but Lexington Catholic fought back and tied the game on a three point bomb at the buzzer by Scott Schuette.  The game remained close in the final quarter but Scott County took a late 67-64 lead.  Taylor Botkin cut the deficit to one; 67-66 with a field goal.  Scott County went down, missed a tough shot in the lane and a putback and LexCath got the ball with 28.5 seconds on the clock.  The Knights ran down the clock setting the stage for Martin's late seconds heroics.

Lexington Catholic shot 47.5% from the field including five of 14 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on seven of 12 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 17 Scott County turnovers.  Scott County shot 45.3% from the field including seven of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Cardinals connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 11 Lexington Catholic turnovers. 

6-3 Sr. Vee Sanford led Lexington Catholic with 26 points.  6-3 Sr. Taylor Botkin and 6-0 Fr. Jaylen Beckham added 10 points each.  6-7 Jr. tanner Peurach battled inside all night recording six points and eight blocked shots.

6-2 Jr. Ge-Lawn Guyn led Scott County with 31 points including three three point baskets.  6-4 Jr. Chad Jackson added 16 points and nine rebounds.  6-8 Jr. Dakotah Euton recorded 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Louisville KY  March 7th

Butler  (19-6)  vs.  Iroquois  (28-1)  (Championship)  -  Iroquois scored 26 points off 29 Butler turnovers in a 51-41 victory.  Iroquois shot 35.7% from the field including only one of 11 from the three point line.  The Lady Raiders connected on 10 of 18 free throws and  pulled down 28 rebounds. Butler shot 45.9% from the field including two of seven from beyond the arc.  The Bearettes connected on five of 10 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored five points off seven Iroquois turnovers.  Butler attempted 19 more shots from the field (56-37) than Iroquois and held an 18-2 advantage in bench scoring.

5-9 Sr. Adia Mathies led Iroquois with 21 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 steals.  5-5 Sr. Kayla Hickman added 11 points.  5-6 Sr. Asia Mathies recorded 10 points, five rebounds, four assists, and five steals.

5-7 Jr. Whitney Reed led Butler with 10 points and nine rebounds.  5-11 Sr. Tiara Hopper added nine points and 10 rebounds.  Daijia Ruffin chipped in with nine points and seven rebounds.

Christian Academy of Louisville  (24-4)  Vs.  Sacred Heart Academy  (25-4) (Championship) - Sacred Heart led 39-37 after three quarters but CAL rallied in the final period to win by a score of 59-49.  CAL held a 21-11 advantage in free throw points and an 11-2 advantage in second chance points.

CAL shot 46.3% from the field including zero of five from the three point line.  The Lady Centurions connected on 21 of 28 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 10 Sacred Heart turnovers.  Sacred Heart shot 39.1% from the field including two of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Valkyries connected on 11 of 23 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 10 CAL turnovers.

6-2 Jr. Antonita Slaughter led CAL with 34 points including 14 of 16 from the free throw line and pulled down 13 rebounds.  5-10 Sr. Clair Buchanan added 14 points and eight rebounds.

5-6 Jr. Autumn Miller led Sacred Heart with 18 points and eight rebounds.  5-11 Jr. Jackie Hafele added 12 points and six rebounds.  5-4 So. Maddie Peabody chipped in with eight points and six rebounds.

Richmond KY March 7th

Lexington Christian Academy  (28-4)  vs Scott County  (17-14) (Championship)  -  LCA pulled away in the second half to defeat Scott County 81-59.  The game was close in the first half with Scott County leading 29-24 before LCA rallied to lead 41 -33 at halftime.

LCA shot 43.5% from the field including nine of 26 from the three point line.  The Lady Eagles connected on 12 of 15 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 19 Scott County turnovers.  Scott County shot 32.8% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 11 of 14 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 13 points off  14 LCA turnovers.

5-11 Sr. Courtney Clifton led LCA with 38 points including six three point baskets.  5-10 Sr. Anna Martin added 25 points, eight rebounds, and seven steals.  6-2 Jr. Sarah Beth Barnette recorded eight points and 12 rebounds.

Lafayette ( 11-18)  vs.  Scott County  (27-3)  (Semifinal)  -  Lafayette led 51-50 at the end of three quarters but Scott County rallied to defeat the Generals by a score of 78-68.  This was accomplished without the services of 6-8 Sr. Richie Phares who suffered a knee injury in the first half and could not return for the second half.  Scott County held a 26-15 advantage in free throw points.

Scott County shot 55.3% from the field including zero of four from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 26 of 39 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 14 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 35.3% from the field including five of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Generals connected on 15 of 19 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 17 Scott County turnovers.

Iroquois  (27-1)  vs.  Bullitt East  (23-8)  (Semifinal)  -  Iroquois scored 22 points off 19 Bullitt East turnovers in a 58-45 victory.  Iroquois shot 42.6% from the field including two of nine from beyond the arc.  The Lady Raiders connected on 16 of 32 free throws, pulled down 35  rebounds and held a 16-5 advantage in second chance points.  Bullitt East shot 44.4% from the field including two of nine from beyond the arc.  The Lady Chargers connected on 11 of 18 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored seven points off nine Iroquois turnovers.

Lexington Catholic  (17-14)  vs.  Scott County  (16-14) (Semifinal)  -  Scott County, fueled by connecting on 17 of 18 free throws in the fourth quarter pulled away in the closing minutes to defeat Lexington Catholic 69-60.  Scott Count raced out to a 19-8 lead early in the second period but LexCath fought back to tie the score 51-51 in the final period but the Lady Cardinals rallied for the victory.  Three LexCath players Danielle Corbett, Octavia Wilson, and Alex Botkin fouled out in the final quarter.

Scott County shot 42.9% from the field including one of five from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 26 of 34 free throws, pulled down 48 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 12 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 26% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Knights connected on 18 of 28 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 22 Scott County turnovers.  The Lady Knights attempted 24 more field goal attempts (73-49) than Scott County.

5-11 Jr. Madisen Webb led Scott County with 20 points including 16 of 16 from the free throw line and dished out eight assists.  5-9 So. Kristen Stainback added 18 points.  5-9 So. Alex McKenzie chipped in with 10 points and 17 rebounds.  5-10 7th grader Tereka Guyn recorded eight points and seven rebounds.

5-7 Jr. Anna Gayle Scott led Lexington Catholic with 16 points.  5-8 Sr. Danielle Corbett added 11 points including three three point baskets.  5-8 Sr. Maggie Wilson chipped in with nine points and seven rebounds.  5-11 Fr. Franklin County (24-6)  vs.  Lexington Christian Academy (27-4) (Semifinal)  -  LCA exploded out of the gate to lead 37-7 at halftime on their way to a 67-40 victory over Franklin County.  LCA shot 50% from the field including five of 19 from the three point line.  The Lady Eagles connected on 10 of 13 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 22 Franklin County turnovers.  Franklin County shot 28.6% from the game including only 9.5% in the first half and was zero of seven from beyond the arc.  The Lady Flyers connected on 12 of 22 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 21 LCA turnovers.

Richmond KY March 5th

Western Hills (13-12)  vs.  Madison Central (18-11)  -  Western Hill's point guard 5-8 Sr. Darius Reed was not availiable tonight and Madison Central scored 25 points off 24 Western Hill turnovers in a 70-52 victory.  It also helped the Indians' cause they connected on eight of 14 three point attempts.

Madison Central shot 45.3% from the field including eight of 14 from the three point line.  The Indians connected on 14 of 18 free throws and pulled down 28 rebounds.  Western Hills shot 35.7% from the field including zero of two from beyond the arc.  The Wolverines connected on 22 of 25 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 16 Madison Central turnovers.

6-0 So. Brenton Covington led the victors with 19 points.  Covington was eight of eight from the field including one of one from the three point line and two of two from the free throw line.  6-2 Sr. Terry Jarvis added 17 points including three three point baskets.  6-2 Sr. Vince Clay chipped in with 11 points including three three point baskets.

6-3 Jr. J.T. Riddle led Western Hills with 21 points including 13 of 14 free throws.  6-4 Sr. Marcus Wise added 12 points.  6-8 Sr. Mike Satterwhite recorded seven points and eight rebounds.

Henry Clay (17-14)  vs.  Lexington Catholic (22-7)  -  Lexington Catholic survived a furious rally by Henry Clay to capture a 65-62 decision in a thriller.  Lexington Catholic led 48-30 in the third quarter but Henry Clay rallied to cut the deficit to one point; 63-62 with 18.5 seconds remaining but could not overtake the Knights.  This was accomplished without the services of their top scorer 6-0 Sr. Prince Stewart who left the game with a severe ankle injury in the second quarter.  Henry Clay had a good look at the tying three point basket at the buzzer but the ball narrowly missed.  5-11 So. Brandon Wilder led the comeback in the fourth quarter with 11 points including three three point baskets.

Lexington Catholic shot 58.3% from the field including seven of 13 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on 16 of 29 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 18 Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 45.5% from the field including six of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Blue Devils connected on six of 13 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 19 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Henry Clay held a 32-6 advantage in bench points and attempted 19 more shots (55-36) from the field than Lexington Catholic.

6-3 Sr. Taylor Botkin was a warrior tonight for Lexington Catholic and led them with 22 points including three three point baskets and pulled down nine rebounds.  6-3 Sr. Vee Sanford and 6-3 So. Taylor Martin added 12 points each.

6-3 Sr. TJ Barnes led Henry Clay with 18 points and 13 rebounds.  5-11 So. Brandon Wilder added 15 points including three three point baskets.  5-5 Fr. Wes Kimball chipped in with 11 points and six assists.

Madison Southern  (13-13)  vs.  Scott County  (26-3)  -  Scott County held a 20-4 advantage in second chance points in a 77-47 victory over Madison Southern.  Scott County shot 52.9% from the field including two of 10 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on three of eight free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 25 Madison Southern turnovers.  Madison Southern shot 48% from the field including one of eight from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on six of 14 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 17 Scott County turnovers.

6-8 Sr. Richie Phares and 6-4 Jr. Chad Jackson led Scott County with 16 points each.  6-2 Jr. Ge-Lawn Guyn added 13 points.  6-8 Jr. Dakotah Euton chipped in with six points and nine rebounds.

6-4 Jr. Joey Wallace led Madison Southern with 17 points and nine rebounds.  5-9 Jr. Carrington Roberts added 13 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

Lafayette (10-18)  vs.  Franklin County  (21-4)  -  Lafayette pulled off the upset tonight by defeating Franklin County 60-58.  Lafayette shot 52.4% from the field including five of 12 from the three point line.  The Generals connected on 11 of 23 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 13 Franklin County turnovers.  Franklin County shot 41.2% from the field including four of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Flyers connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 14 Lafayette turnovers.

5-11 Jr. Mike Walker led lafayette with 24 points including three three point baskets.  Walker also pulled down seven rebounds.  6-1 So. Dee Yarbrough added 12 points.  6-4 So. Tanner Napier chipped in with 10 points.

6-3 Jr. Vance Hall led Franklin County with 20 points.  6-3 Sr.  Barrett Meyer added 12 points including three three point baskets.  6-8 Sr. Andy Donovan chipped in with eight points and six rebounds.
