Lexington Catholic (4-2) at Boyle County (6-0) October 10th
Topic: Football

Boyle County raced out to a 14-0 lead after the first quarter and their defense held up in a 21-13 victory over Lexington Catholic.  The first quarter was the Rees MacShara show as he gave Boyle County a 7-0 lead with a 70 yard TD run with 11:12 to go in the first quarter.  Boyle County went to their bag of tricks for their next score as Boone Goldsmith completed a pass behind the line os scrimmage to Connor Givhan who lateralled to MacShara who raced 65 yards for the score.  The Boyle County defense was rock solid up front as they held LexCath to 19 yards on the ground on 23 rushing attempts.

Boyle County recorded 12 first downs and 330 yards of total offense.  The Rebels were penalized five times for 38 yards.  Lexington Catholic recorded 13 first downs and 213 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized six times for 60 yards.

Rees MacShara led Boyle County's ground game with 237 yards and a TD on 19 carries.  Boone Goldsmith completed five of eight passes for 92 yards and a TD.  Jar. Harrington caught one pass for 14 yards.  MacShara's 65 yard TD is one of the rarities in scorekeeping as he gets credited with 65 yards and a TD on zero receptions as the pass was actually to Givhan. Steph. Campbell led the defense with five solo and one assisted tackle.  Bryan Farrell added four solo and three assisted tackles.

Greg Raglin led the Lexington Catholic ground game with 13 yards on 12 carries.  Nic Ward completed 21 0f 33 passes for 194 yards.  Ryne Least caught seven passes for 103 yards.  Bill Jacoby led the defense with six solo and seven assisted tackles.  Nate Letton added four solo and two assisted tackles.
