Magoffin County coach Steve Miller started the following lineup: 5-7 Jr. Morgan Arnett, 5-7 Jr. Morgan Connelley, 5-10 Sr. Nicole Fletcher, 5-7 So. Madsion Reed, and 5-2 So. Jamie Castle.  Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 6-0 So. Sarah Cooley, 5-10 Fr. Dee Givens, 6-3 Fr. Ashanti Thomas, 5-5 Sr. Sarah Martin, and 5-6 So. Ken’yale Demus.

Lafayette defeated Magoffin County by a score of 62-54.  Lafayette shot 43.9% from the field including four of 20 from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 11 points off nine Magoffin County turnovers.  Magoffin County shot 32% from the field including six of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Hornets connected on 16 of 30 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 14 Lafayette turnovers.

Ken’yale Demus led Lafayette with 16 points including two three point baskets.  Ashanti Thomas added 14 points and 12 rebounds.  5-9 Sr. Taylor Mynear recorded nine points and nine rebounds.  5-7 Sr. Aleisha Stiltner chipped in with eight points, seven rebounds, and four assists.

Jamie Castle led Magoffin County with 21 points.  5-4 8th grader Jassmine Howard added 11 points.  Morgan Connelley chipped in with nine points.

Tyler Potter, and 6-2 Sr. Kyle Lee.  Scott County coach Billy Hicks countered with 6-3 Sr. Tamron Manning, 6-2 Sr. Isaiah Ivey, 6-1 Sr. Josh Harris, 5-10 Jr. Quin Richardson, and 5-11So. Trenton Gilbert.

Scott County defeated Bell County by a score of 64-45.  Scott County shot 38.6% from the field including nine of 21 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 11 of 19 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 27 Bell County turnovers.  Bell County shot 44.7% from the field including six of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Bobcats connected on five of six free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored three points off 12 Scott county turnovers.

Trenton Gilbert led Scott County with 24 points including six three point baskets.  Tamron Manning added 18 points and seven rebounds.

Tyler Potter led Bell County with 15 points including four three point baskets and pulled down six rebounds.  Ryan Cox added 14 points and seven rebounds.

Elizabethtown defeated Daviess County by a score of 73-71.  Elizabethtown scored 28 points off 22 Daviess County turnovers.  Elizabethtown shot 37% from the field including five of 18 from the three point line.  The Panthers connected on 28 of 40 free throws and pulled down 31 rebounds.  Daviess County shot 52.9% from the field including seven of 16 from beyond the arc.  Daviess county connected on 10 of 12 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 17 Elizabethtown turnovers.

Nic McDonald led Elizabethtown with 24 points.  Jansen Flood added 13 points.  Bryce Byrd and 6-0 So. Ja’Von Cotton recorded 11 points each.

Logan O’Bryan led Daviess County with 30 points and nine rebounds.  O’Bryan was 11 of 13 from the field including five of six from the three point line, and three of four from the free throw line.  Jordan Thomas added 22 points.  5-8 Sr. James Acquisto chipped in with 10 points.

Elizabethtown defeated Adair County by a score of 74-39.  Elizabethtown shot a blistering 61% from the field including three of 12 from the three point line.  The Lady Panthers connected on 21 of 26 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored six points off 12 Adair County turnovers.  Elizabethtown held a 40-16 advantage in bench points.  Adair County shot 28.9% from the field including three of 17 from beyond the arc.  They connected on 14 of 24 free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and scored eight points off 11 Elizabethtown turnovers.

Erin Boley led Elizabethtown with 16 points, five rebounds, and three steals.  Kaylyn Cecil and 5-4 So. Kinsey Mudd added 11 points each.  6-1 Fr. Reaunna Cleaver recorded eight points and seven rebounds.

Mercedes Cox led Adair county with 10 points.  5-0 So. Preslie Lawless and 5-6 8th grader Alex Kelter added seven and six points respectively.

East Jessamine scored 32 points off 23 West Jessamine turnovers in a 78-60 victory between cross-town rivals.  East Jessamine shot 50.8% from the field including seven of 19 from the three point line.  The Jaguars connected on 11 of 15 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and held a 28-10 margin in bench points.  West Jessamine shot 40% from the field including four of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Colts connected on 20 of 24 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 10 East Jessamine turnovers.

Tashan Hairston led East Jessamine with 21 points including three three point baskets.  Cody Collins and 6-2 Fr. Ronnie Carson added 12 points each.  6-2 Jr. Timmy Bradshaw chipped in with 10 points and seven rebounds.  C.J. Boyd recorded eight points and seven assists.

Chase Fain led West Jessamine with 23 points, 11 rebounds, and three steals.  Daulton Peters added 14 points and seven rebounds.

Lexington Christian Academy coach Tommy Huston started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Travis Branham, 6-1 Sr. Patrick Nickodem, 6-3 Jr. Jon Lannertone, 5-8 Jr. Tyler Harville, and 6-2 Sr. Taylor Barnette.  Tates Creek coach Wayne Breeden countered with 6-4 Jr. Braxton McFarland, 6-2 Sr. Darius Gibson, 6-4 Fr. Jordan Fucci, 6-0 Sr. Dai Quan Epps, and 5-9 Sr. Brian Tilford.

Coach Wayne Breeden utilized his trademark gritty defense and controlled tempo to ground the normally high scoring Eagles and earn a 48-41 victory for Tates Creek tonight.  Tates Creek shot 43.6% from the field including three of nine from the three point line.  The Commodores connected on 12 of 22 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored nine points off five Lexington Christian Academy turnovers.  LCA shot 30.4% from the field including three of 24 from beyond the arc.  LCA attempted 17 more shots (56-39) than Tates Creek.  LCA connected on four of six free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored nine points off 11 Tates creek turnovers.

Darius Gibson and Braxton McFarland each recorded 13 points and six rebounds for Tates Creek.  Jordan Fucci added seven points and 14 rebounds.

Tyler Harville led LCA with 15 points including three three point baskets.  Taylor Barnette added 10 points and nine rebounds before leaving the game with an ankle injury in the final period.  Jon Lannertone recorded eight points and five rebounds.

Lafayette shot a dismal 11.5% (3-26) from the field in the second half and fell to Bryan Station by a score of 45-28.  Bryan Station shot 32.8% from the field including zero of two from the three point line.  The Lady Defenders connected on seven of 11 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 28 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 23.3% from the field including one of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Generals connected on seven of 15 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored seven points off 21 Bryan Station turnovers.

Victoria McCoy led Bryan Station with 14 points and four steals.  Serena Sandusky added 10 points and seven rebounds.  Hallie Crumbie recorded seven points, nine rebounds, and three blocked shots.

Ken’yale Demus led Lafayette with 11 points.  Sarah Cooley added nine points and 10 rebounds.

Elizabethtown raced out to a 37-13 halftime lead on their way to a 67-34 victory over Central Hardin.  Elizabethtown shot 51.2% from the field including three of seven from the three point line.  The Lady Panthers connected on 22 of 32 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 23 Central Hardin turnovers.  Central Hardin shot 32.5% from the field including zero of five from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bruins connected on eight of 14 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored eight points off 14 Elizabethtown turnovers.

Erin Boley led Elizabethtown with 16 points and five rebounds.  Kaylyn Cecil added 11 points.  Darrian Ditto, 5-5 Fr. Darien Huff, and 6-1 Fr. Reaunna Cleaver chipped in with nine, nine, and seven points respectively.

Kasey Smallwood and 6-0 Jr. Aecha Helm led Central Hardin with 10 and eight points respectively.  Aislyn Barnes added seven points.

Marion County 49  Lexington Catholic 28 (Girls) – Marion County held a 24-11 advantage in offensive rebounds and outscored Lexington Catholic  38-18 over the last three quarters.  5-11 Jr. Makayla Epps led Marion County with 17 points, six rebounds, three assists, and five steals.  Epps recorded three three point baskets.  6-1 Jr. Kyvin Goodin-Rogers added 12 points, six rebounds, and four assists.5-7 Jr. Patrice Tonge chipped in with nine points, six rebounds, and four steals.  6-0 Sr. Alex Botkin led Lexington Catholic with 12 points.  5-4 Jr. Sarah Cawood added six points on two three point baskets.

Sayre 71  Wolfe County 58 (Boys) – 6-2 Sr. Reid Freeman led Sayre with 19 points including three three point baskets and dished out five assists.  6-6 Jr. Ray Brewer added 15 points and 16 rebounds.  6-2 Sr. Phillip O’Rourke chipped in with 12 points.  6-3 Sr. Sawyer Denniston led Wolfe County with 19 points, six rebounds, and five blocked shots.  Sawyer was 11 of 12 from the free throw line.

Lincoln County 60  Harrison County 41 (Boys) – 6-1 Fr. Jacob Conway led Lincoln County with 16 points including four three point baskets.  5-9 Jr. Carl Lewis-Cummins also recorded 16 points.  6-3 Jr. Luke Hill chipped in with 13 points and six rebounds.  5-8 Sr. Trenton Edgington dished out nine assists.  6-2 So. Dillon Pulliam led Harrison County with nine points and seven rebounds.  6-4 Sr. Caleb Ford also recorded nine points.

Lexington Catholic 75  Sylvan Hills (Arkansas) 71 OT (Boys) – 6-9 Jr. Jack Whitman led Lexington Catholic with 25 points, five rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Whitman was eight of 10 from the field including one of one from the three point line and eight of 12 from the free throw line including some clutch free throws down the stretch.  5-10 Jr. Dillon Avare added 18 points on six three point baskets.  6-6 Sr. Patrick Keller chipped in with 13 points.  6-6 Jr. Tom Banahan recorded 12 points and nine rebounds.  Banahan was four of four from the field and four of four from the free  throw line.  University of Kentucky signee 6-5 Sr. Archie Goodwin led Sylvan Hills with 37 points, 10 rebounds, and four steals.  Goodwin was 12 of 32 from the field including four of 12 from the three point line, and nine of 10 from the free throw line.

Northeast (TN) 78  Lafayette 68 (Boys) – University of Kentucky signee 6-8 Sr. Alex Poythress led Northeast with 42 points and seven rebounds.  Poythress was 14 of 23 from the field including one of four from the three point line, and 13 of 19 from the free throw line..  6-7 Jr. Charles Sweatt-Washington and 6-3 Jr. Tranard Chester led Lafayette with 12 points each.  6-8 So. Jackson Davis added 11 points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots.  6-8 Jr. Nick Trisko chipped in with 10 points.

The Scott County Lady Cardinals defeated the Henry Clay Lady Blue Devils at home for a big district win.  The Lady Cardinals are now 3-0 in District 42 play.  The Lady Cards outscored the Lady Devils 19-6 in the second quarter with full court pressure defense and never looked back.    Scott County was led in scoring by Sophomore guard, Audriana Christopher with 20 points and 8 assists.  Senior guard Mary Logsdon had 19 points and 10 rebounds, sophomore forward, Tereka Guyn had  a double double also with 14 points and 14 rebounds.  Sophomore guard Danielle DeFoor also had 10 points.  Henry Clay was led in scoring by Samantha Kinchen with 12 points, also Jasmine Richmond had 11 points.
