Scott County scored 28 points off 19 George Rogers Clark turnovers in a 68-46 victory.  Scott County shot 38.6% from the field including four of 16 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 20 of 29 free throws and pulled down 45 rebounds.  George Rogers Clark shot 25% from the field including one of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Cardinals connected on 15 of 26 free throws, pulled down 48 rebounds, and scored four points off 10 Scott County turnovers.

Laura Szorenyi led Scott County with 21 points including 11 of 16 free throws.  Tereka Guyn was a force in the paint with 17 points including nine of 10 free throws, 15 rebounds, and eight blocked shots.  Bailey Hawkins and Danielle DeFoor each scored 10 points.  5-7 8^th grade Lauren Boehm chipped in with eight points and 10 rebounds.

Sandra Skinner led George Rogers Clark with 16 points and five rebounds.  Fr. Sydney Anderson added nine points and eight rebounds.  Maddie Hamlin pulled down nine rebounds.  Kathleen Murphy chipped in with seven points and eight rebounds.

Sacred Heart defeated Pleasure Ridge Park by a score of 52-42.  Sacred Heart shot 47.8% from the field including zero of six from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on eight of 15 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 22 PRP turnovers.  PRP shot 25% from the field including two of seven from beyond the arc.  The Panthers connected on 16 of 23 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored seven points off 16 Sacred Heart turnovers.

DaiJia Ruffin led Sacred Heart with 26 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists.  Gretchen Samsel added 13 points.

Kelsey Adwell led Pleasure Ridge Park with 16 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Paige Murphy added 14 points including two three point baskets.  Rayven Shead pulled down nine rebounds.

Lafayette coach Allison Denton started the following lineup: 6-0 Jr. Sarah Cooley, 5-11 So. Dee Givens, 6-4 So. Ashanti Thomas, 5-6 Jr. Megumi Nagahiro, and 5-6 Jr. Ken’yale Demus.  Tates Creek coach Tina Winn countered with 5-6 So. Haley Blackburn, 5-8 Sr. Dominique Etling-Turner, 5-9 Sr. Katie Pippen, 5-5 Sr. Lexi Whaley, and 5-6 Sr. Oney Harrison.

Lafayette defeated Tates Creek by a score of 66-45.  Tates Creek led 32-30 at halftime but Lafayette outscored the Lady Commodores 17-3 in the third quarter to take control of the game.  Lafayette’s Dee Givens triggered the comeback to start the third quarter by scoring the first eight points of the third quarter in 1:32 seconds to give Lafayette a 38-32 lead.  The Lafayette scoring run would go 17-0 before Tates Creek would score a free throw with 1:45 left in the quarter.

Lafayette shot 45.6% from the field including two of eight from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on 12 of 22 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 19 Tates Creek turnovers.  Tates Creek shot 39.5% from the field including five of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Commodores connected on six of 12 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored seven points off 16 Lafayette turnovers.

Sarah Cooley controlled the glass tonight and led Lafayette with 24 points and 19 rebounds.  Dee Givens added 15 points and five assists.  5-9 8^th grade Kiara Pankins chipped in with 10 points.  Ashanti Thomas recorded seven points and eight rebounds.  Ken’yale Demus added seven points, four assists, and five steals.

Oney Harrison led Tates Creek with 17 points.  Katie Pippen added 13 points and six rebounds.  Dominique Etling-Turner chipped in with eight points and five rebounds.  Lexi Whaley recorded five points, five rebounds, and three steals.

Floreal, 6-2 Sr. William Gary, 6-7 Sr. Taylor King, 5-10 Sr. Mike Smith, and 6-1 Jr. Donnie Lewis.  Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown countered with 6-4 Sr. Gerrard Newby, 6-4 Sr. Charlie Sinninger, 6-5 Sr. Darien Tichenor, 6-0 Sr. Haddon Alford, and 6-1 Jr. Christen Cunningham.

Dunbar defeated Henry Clay by a score of 64-62 on senior night at Henry Clay.  The score was tied eight times and there were eight lead changes in the game.  Dunbar led 47-39 early in the final quarter but both teams struggled from the free throw line down the stretch.  Dunbar was three for eight from the charity stretch in the final quarter while Henry Clay was three for six from the line.  This was a real gut-check victory for Dunbar as they made enough big plays down the stretch to earn a big victory on the road. 

Dunbar shot 45.6% from the field including four of 12 from the three point line.  The Bulldogs connected on eight of 16 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 18 Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 45.8% from the field including two of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Blue Devils connected on six of 17 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 12 Dunbar turnovers.

E.J. Floreal came up big for Dunbar tonight with 19 points and 10 rebounds.  Floreal was nine of 11 from the field and one of two from the free throw line.  Mike Smith added 12 points and William Gary recorded 11 points, six rebounds, and five assists.  6-5 Sr. Eric Trigg chipped in with 10 points.

Christen Cunningham led Henry Clay with 23 points.  6-4 Jr. Jordan Green added 19 points and seven rebounds.  Trey Grundy recorded six points and 11 rebounds.

Corbin defeated Whitley County 65-62 in two overtimes to secure the top seed  for the 50^th District Tournament.  Whitley County had an opportunity to win in regulation but missed two free throws with no time left on the clock to end regulation at 51-51.  The first overtime ended tied at 54-54 and Corbin finally claimed the victory in the second overtime.  Whitley County had a last second shot from midcourt that missed as time expired.  This has been a rough stretch for Whitley County as 6-0 Jr. Kandace Craig, 5-4 So. Hallie Jones, and 5-4 Sr. Bethany Powers have been lost via the injury route.

5-7 Jr. Kayla Wilson and 5-7 Jr. Miranda Wilson led Corbin with 20 and 10 points respectively.

5-7 Jr. Brandi Smith led Whitley County with 17 points.  5-8 So. Taylor Dingess added 15 points.

Montgomery County pulled away late in the game to defeat Scott 66-51 on senior night.  6-7 Sr. Omar Prewitt set another milestone in his career as he broke the Montgomery County rebounding record and currently has 980 career rebounds.  Prewitt led Montgomery County tonight with 31 points, eight rebounds, and six blocked shots.  6-1 Sr. Tyler Jones added 10 points and eight assists. 6-4 Jr. Darius Jones also scored 10 points.

6-1 Sr. Tyler Buckner and 6-3 Sr. Nick Jackson led Scott with 13 points each.  Scott was without the services of Josh Felts and Josh Castleman who were ill.

Clay County raced out to a 19-9 first quarter lead on their way to a 58-22 victory over North Laurel.  Clay County was 21 of 29 from 2-pt range and three of seven from beyond the arc.  The Lady Tigers connected on seven of 13 free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and committed 10 turnovers.  North Laurel was nine of 20 from 2-pt range and one of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Jaguars connected on one of three free throws, pulled down 11 rebounds, and committed 23 turnovers.

5-11 Sr. Cheyenne Madden led Clay County with 15 points and three rebounds.  5-5 So. Ajaycia Cotton and 5-11 Sr. Morgan Chesnut added 14 and 11 points respectively.

China Dow led CAL with 33 points including 15 of 23 free throws, 14 rebounds, and six steals.  Kate Joss added 16 points including four three point baskets.
