Paul Laurence Dunbar captured a big city win with a 21-16 decision over Lafayette.  Dunbar rolled up 310 yards on the ground and intercepted three passes.  Lafayette also had an unlucky break seconds before halftime.  The score was tied 7-7 and Dunbar attempted a 48 yard field goal that fell short and Lafayette’s Mason Alstatt returned the kick 99 yards for an apparent touchdown. However the play was called back for an illegal block and Lafayette missed a 46 yard field goal attempt with no time on the clock.  Dunbar recorded 12 first downs and 325 yards of total offense.  The Bulldogs were penalized six times for 41 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.  Lafayette recorded 15 first downs and 269 yards of total offense.  The Generals were penalized three times for 27 yards and had three passes intercepted.

AJ Williams led Dunbar’s ground attack with 122 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.  Emory Thompson carried the ball seven times for 84 yards and a touchdown.  Emory Thompson completed one of four passes for 15 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Cam Pergram caught a 15 yard touchdown pass.  Derante Sanders led the defense with eight solo and seven assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards.  Luke Daily added five solo and three assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling eight yards.  Nick Edge also recorded five solo and three assisted tackles.  Jmaurion Dunn, Cam Pergram, and Emory Thompson each intercepted a pass.

Malik Robinson led Lafayette’s ground game with 79 yards an 11 carries.  Kylan Nelson carried the ball 10 times for 44 yards and a touchdown.  Clay Bolin completed 12 of 23 passes for 113 yards with three interceptions.  D. Jackson caught five passes for 49 yards.  Taylor Cobb led the defense with five solo and one assisted tackles.  Evan Shaw added four solo and two assisted tackles.  Devon Quincey recorded two solo and two assisted tackles, recovered a fumble, and intercepted a pass.

Scott County raced out to a 35-6 first quarter lead and the second half was played with a running clock as Scott County prevailed over North Hardin by a score of 42-13.  Scott County recorded 13 first downs and 407 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized twice for 20 yards and lost a fumble.  North Hardin recorded 13 first downs and 292 yards of total offense.  They were penalized four times for 22 yards.

Theo Price led Scott County’s ground game with 75 yards and three touchdowns on five carries.  Keith Guy carried the ball twice for 49 yards and a touchdown.  Scott Daniel carried the ball once for a 48 yard touchdown run.  Noah Hughes chipped in with 32 yards and a touchdown on four carries.  Clay McKee completed three of three passes for 66 yards.  Scott Daniel caught two passes for 22 yards.  Duncan Lewis and Clark Griffith each caught a pass for 51 and 44 yards respectively.  Grayson Miller led the defense with five solo and one assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 17 yards.  Triston Mosley added three solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a 10 yard loss.  Palmer Ward was six of six on points after touchdown, kicked off seven times with six touchbacks, and punted twice for a 38.5 average with no return yardage.

Taven Graves led North Hardin’s ground game with 64 yards on 19 carries.  Andrew Rugerio completed 11 of 25 passes for 203 yards and two touchdowns.  Kevin Dyer caught four passes for 73 yards and a touchdown.  D. Gulley added two receptions for 65 yards and a touchdown.  DJ Haynes led the defense with four solo and two assisted tackles.  Jeremiah Draper added four solo and one assisted tackles.

Henry Clay led 8-6 late in the game but scored two touchdowns in the last four minutes to earn a 21-6 victory over Boone County on a rainy night in Northern Kentucky.  Henry Clay’s Elijah Bell electrified the crowd as he returned the opening kickoff 91 yards to the Boone County one yard line setting up DA Jones one yard touchdown run.   Boone County scored on two Evan O’Hara field goals and that was the end of the scoring until late in the final quarter.  Henry Clay scored on a 30 yard interception return by Quentin Gay with 3:58 remaining in the game and added a 16 yard TD run by DA Jones with 2:31 remaining on the clock to settle the issue.

Henry Clay recorded 10 first downs and 170 yards of total offense.  The Blue Devils were penalized four times for 30 yards, lost three fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.  Boone County recorded five first downs and 119 yards of total offense.  The Rebels were penalized five times for 45 yards and had a pass intercepted.

DA Jones led Henry Clay’s ground game with 51 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries.  Elijah Bell carried the ball 12 times for 37 yards.  Rhoman James added 36 yards on six carries.  Sammy Carter completed six of nine passes for 49 yards with one interception.  Colby Barnes caught three passes for 24 yards.  Lakwon Givens led the defense with four solo and eight assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling eight yards.  DA. Robinson added four solo and five assisted tackles.  Quentin Gay recorded two solo and eight assisted tackles and returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown.  Clark Dupree added four solo tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 21 yards.

Aaron Floyd led Boone County’s ground game with 78 yards on 24 carries.  Aaron Floyd completed four of 13 passes for -1 yard with one interception.  Darien Huff caught one pass for eight yards.  Dru Schroer led the defense with seven solo and two assisted tackles.  Kai Mills added  three solo and four assisted tackles.  Tyler Hickman recorded four solo and one assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.  Isaiah Jackson also recorded four solo and one assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.

Anderson County defeated Mercer County by a score of 55-21.  Anderson County recorded 17 first downs and 396 yards of total of total offense.  The Bearcats were penalized five times for 52 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.  Mercer County recorded seven first downs and 111 yards of total offense.  The Titans were penalized eight times for 73 yards, lost five fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.

Zach Carmichael led Anderson County’s ground game with 45 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries.  Sam Laytart carried the ball 12 times for 39 yards and two touchdowns.  Zach Carmichael completed 14 of 27 passes for 295 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions.  Ross Cox caught three passes for 129 yards and two touchdowns.  Sam Laytart added three receptions for 49 yards.  Landon Searcy led the defense with one solo and six assisted tackles.  Dusty Puckett added three solo and one assisted tackles.  Huston Page scored on a 30 yard fumble recovery return.

B. Bradshaw led Mercer County’s ground game with 47 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.  Drew Davis completed seven of 16 passes for 77 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Crawley-Goodman caught three passes for 15 yards.  Layne Peavler added two receptions for 48 yards.  Chase Moore caught a 10 yard touchdown pass.  J. DeGiovanni led the defense with six solo and three assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 13 yards.  Crawley-Goodman added five solo and two assisted tackles.  Russell Sims intercepted two passes with 119 yards of return yardage including an 87 yard interception return for a touchdown.

Tates Creek rolled up 521 yards of total offense and Graham Gordon threw for five touchdowns as Tates Creek shut out Rowan County 41-0.  Tates Creek recorded 20 first downs and 521 yards of total offense.  The Commodores were penalized six times for 49 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.  Rowan County recorded 21 first downs and 350 yards of total offense.  The Vikings were penalized three times for 32 yards, lost three fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.

Graham Gordon led Tates Creek’s ground game with 84 yards on eight carries.  Casey Grimes carried the ball six times for 57 yards.  Martavius Carter added 48 yards on two carries.  Graham Gordon completed 17 of 25 passes for 285 yards and five touchdowns with one interception.  TaVon Dunn caught five passes for 136 yards and two touchdowns.  RJ Taylor added four receptions for 29 yards and a touchdown.  Austin Rogers caught two passes for 26 yards and a touchdown.  Martavius Carter caught a 24 yard touchdown pass.  Max Sweet led the defense with five solo and seven assisted tackles.  Eamon Nasr added four solo and five assisted tackles.  Chaysen Smith recovered two fumbles.

Devin Helvey led Rowan County’s ground game with 123 yards on 14 carries.  Isaac Lee carried the ball 11 times for 41 yards.  Devin Helvey completed 10 of 21 passes for 79 yards with one interception.  Zach Taylor caught five passes for 29 yards.  Jordan Tipton added two receptions for 31 yards.  Blake Carver led the defense with four solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a three yard loss.  Alston Buttry added four solo tackles and intercepted a pass.  AJ Smith recorded three solo tackles and a fumble recovery.

Beechwood led 24-14 early in the final quarter but Franklin County rallied for a 28-24 victory.  Beechwood won the statistical battle but Franklin County came away with a hard earned win.  Franklin County recorded 15 first downs and 377 yards of total offense.  The Flyers were penalized seven times for 53 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.  Beechwood recorded 25 first downs and 490 yards of total offense.  They were penalized three times for 37 yards and lost a fumble.  Beechwood ran 84 plays on offense compared to 49 for Franklin County.

Ethan Stringer led Beechwood’s ground game with 92 yards on 23 carries.  Joe Studer carried the ball 11 times for 74 yards and two touchdowns.  Kyle Fieger completed 24 of 41 passes for 291 yards and a touchdown.  Jalin Hayden caught five passes for 73 yards.  Joe Studer added four receptions for 45 yards.  Brett Slusher caught four passes for 38 yards.  Ethan Stringer added three receptions for 41 yards.  Jeremy Burns caught three passes for 20 yards and a touchdown.  Devon Everett led the defense with four solo and six assisted tackles.  Joe Studer added four solo and two assisted tackles.

Lexington Catholic trailed 14-13 after the first quarter but exploded for 41 points over the next three quarters to earn a 54-28 victory over Madison Central.  Lexington Catholic recorded 22 first downs and 503 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized five times for 103 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.  Madison Central recorded 20 first downs and 359 yards of total offense.  The Indians were penalized six times for 115 yards, lost a fumble, and had three passes intercepted.  Madison Central ran 75 offensive plays compared to 57 for Lexington Catholic.

Marcelis Logan led Lexington Catholic’s ground game with 70 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries.  Noah Mitchell carried the ball four times for 54 yards and a touchdown.  Reese Ryan completed 16 of 24 passes for 257 yards and three touchdowns.  Marcelis Logan caught five passes for 63 yards.  David Bouvier added four receptions for 69 yards and a touchdown.  Noah Mitchell caught three passes for 55 yards and a touchdown.  Justin Brownell caught a 50 yard touchdown pass.  Chase Boling led the defense with 10 solo and one assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling nine yards.  Josh Messmer added eight solo and three assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  Braxton Couch added six solo and two assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 18 yards.  Noah Mitchell recorded five solo and one assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.  David Bouvier scored on a 17 yard interception return.

Johan Williams led Madison Central’s ground attack with 133 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries.  Korrion Crier carried the ball 14 times for 36 yards and a touchdown.  Zach Hardin completed 11 of 30 passes for 187 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions.  John Williams caught seven passes for 124 yards and a touchdown.  Will Hinton and Blake Gross led the defense with four solo tackles each.

Lafayette 41  Boone County 28Clay Bolin ran for two touchdowns and completed 11 of 15 passes for 200 yards and a touchdown to lead Lafayette.  Boone County was led by Aaron Floyd who carried the ball 29 times for 166 yards and three touchdowns and completed 17 of 28 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown.

Henry Clay 21  Tates Creek 13Elijah Bell carried the ball 22 times for 159 yards and a touchdown and DA. Jones added 144 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries and the Blue Devil defense did a great job of slowing the Tates Creek offense.

Madison Southern 21  Paul Laurence Dunbar 19 – PLD’s Levi Clark kicked a potential game winning 36 yard field goal with seconds remaining but a false start penalty moved the ball back five yards and Clark missed from 41 yards.  Madison Southern was led by Damien Harris who carried the ball 20 times for 146 yards and a touchdown while PLD was led by Emory Thompson who carried the ball 20 times for 121 yards and a touchdown and also threw a touchdown pass.

Lexington Catholic 28  Bryan Station 21 Reese Ryan completed 14 of 22 passes for 208 yards and three touchdowns, David Bouvier caught six passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns, and Noah Mitchell carried the ball 19 times for 125 yards to lead Lexington Catholic.  Bryan Station was led by Ora Johnson who completed 22 of 38 passes for 250 yards and three touchdowns and CJ Walker Jr. caught 10 passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns.

Scott County 63  Madison Central 20 – Scott County raced out to a 56-14 lead at halftime.

Boyle County 30  Anderson County 27 – Anderson County missed a 22 yard field goal attempt with two seconds left in the game that would have tied the score.

Franklin County 51  Frankfort 36Chris Roberts carried the ball 19 times for 196 yards and three touchdowns and Lorenzo McCaskell added 146 yards and three touchdowns on six carries to lead Franklin County.  Anthony Robinson completed 20 of 38 passes for 270 yards and four touchdowns to lead Frankfort.

Lexington Catholic defeated Bryan Station 28-21 in a game that had a little bit of everything.  You had  the balanced offense of Lexington Catholic (236 yards rushing and 208 yards passing) and the individual excellence of Bryan Station QB Ora Johnson and WR CJ Walker Jr.  There was a great goal line stand by Lexington Catholic late in the third quarter when Bryan Station had a first and goal from the Lexington Catholic three yard line.  It went to 3rd and goal from the one and Ora Johnson was stopped for no gain by Colin Carpenter and Braxton Couch.  K-CI Carmichael got the call on 4th and goal and he was stopped for no gain by Josh Messmer and Chase Boling and the score remained 28-13.  Bryan Station scored on an Ora Johnson eight yard touchdown strike to K-CI Carmichael and a two point conversion pass from Johnson to Walker to make the score 28-21 with 4:43 remaining in the game.  Lexington Catholic took the kickoff and ran out the clock.

Lexington Catholic recorded 22 first downs and 444 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized 12 times for 93 yards.  Bryan Station recorded 19 first  downs and 348 yards of total offense.  The Defenders were penalized eight times for 75 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Noah Mitchell led Lexington Catholic’s ground game with 125 yards on 19 carries.  Marcelis Logan carried the ball 12 times for 85 yards and a touchdown.  Reese Ryan completed 14 of 22 passes for 208 yards and three touchdowns.  David Bouvier caught six passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns.  Sam Letton caught four passes for 38 yards and Noah Mitchell added two receptions for 18 yards.  Justin Brownell caught a 27 yard touchdown pass.  Braxton Couch led the defense with five solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in an 11 yard loss.  Couch also recovered a fumble.  Josh Messmer added five solo and two assisted tackles.  Sam Letton recorded four solo and three assisted tackles.

Ora Johnson led Bryan Station’s ground game with 77 yards on 19 carries.  Ora Johnson completed 22 of 38 passes for 250 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.  CJ Walker Jr. caught 10 passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns.  K-CI Carmichael added five receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown.  Andre Davis led the defense with eight solo and one assisted tackles.  Jam. Robertson added six solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a six yard loss.  Greg Gerton recorded four solo and seven assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 10 yards.  Chris Jackson chipped in with two solo and eight assisted tackles.

The first half was scoreless but Henry Clay captured the victory with a 21-13 victory over Tates Creek with Tates Creek’s final touchdown coming in the closing seconds of the game.  While the high octane Henry Clay offense normally gets all the accolades much of the credit tonight went to the quick defense which stymied Tates Creek’s offense tonight.  Henry Clay recorded 21 first downs and 411 yards of total offense.  The Blue Devils were penalized eight times for 85 yards and lost three fumbles.  Tates Creek recorded 13 first downs and 202 yards of total offense.  The Commodores were penalized seven times for 66 yards.

Elijah Bell led Henry Clay’s ground game with 159 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries.  DA. Jones carried the ball 13 times for 144 yards and a touchdown.  Sammy Carter completed 12 of 13 passes for 132 yards and a touchdown.  Colby Barnes caught six passes for 85 yards.  Gunner Kelly added two receptions for 23 yards and a touchdown.  Lakwon Givens led the defense with five solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards.  Elijah Barnett added four solo and four assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards.

Casey Grimes led Tates Creek’s ground game with 48 yards on 13 carries.  Graham Gordon completed 17 of 30 passes for 144 yards and a touchdown.  RJ Taylor caught six passes for 53 yards.  Jaren Shelby had three receptions for 25 yards.  Austin Rogers also caught three passes for 14 yards.  TaVon Dunn added two receptions for 34 yards and a touchdown.  Ryan Betlach led the defense with seven solo and three assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  Eamon Nasr added three solo and six assisted tackles.  Taiwan Hart recorded three solo and four assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 13 yards.
