Savannah State coach Horace Broadnax started the following lineup: 6-5 So. Javaris Jenkins, 6-2 Sr. Keierre Richards, 6-7 So. Saadiq Muhammad, 6-2 Fr. Khalen Pinkett, and 6-1 Sr. Terrel Hall.  Eastern Kentucky coach Jeff Neubauer countered with 6-7 Sr. Timmy Knipp, 6-7 Jr. Ja’Mill Powell, 6-8 Sr. Eric Stutz, 6-2 Sr. Corey Walden, and 6-2 So. Isaac McGlone.

 

Coach Neubauer promised stifling defensive pressure this season and the colonels delivered tonight scoring 27 points off 33 Savannah State turnovers and recording 17 steals in a 76-53 victory.  Eastern led 36-27 at halftime and pulled away in the second half for a comfortable victory.  Eastern shot 39.75 from the field including five of 26 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 21 of 25 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 33 Savannah State turnovers.  Savannah State shot 47.7% from the field including two of eight from beyond the arc.  They connected on nine of 20 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored nine points off 14 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

 

Corey Walden led Eastern Kentucky with 20 points including eight of nine free throws, five assists, and eight steals.  Ja’Mill Powell added 14 points including two three point baskets.  Eric Stutz recorded 13 points, six rebounds, and three steals.  6-5 Jr. Denzel Richardson turned in a sterling performance off the bench with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

 

Saadiq Muhammad led Savannah state with 13 points, nine rebounds, and two blocked shots.  6-7 Jr. Brian Pearson added 10 points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots.

Eastern Kentucky trailed 27-7 at halftime but roared back behind a school record five rushing touchdowns by Dy’Shawn Mobley to defeat Murray State by a score of 43-36.  Murray State set Eastern Kentucky back on their heels on the first play of the game as Pokey Harris took the opening kickoff and returned it 100 yards for the score.  The Racers continued to dominate and led 27-7 at halftime.  Mobley went to work in the third quarter scoring two touchdowns on the ground and adding a 72 yard touchdown pass from Bennie Coney to pull the Colonels to within five; 33-28 at the end of three quarters.  Mobley scored two more touchdowns in the final quarter to complete the comeback and claim a hard fought victory.

Eastern Kentucky recorded 32 first downs and 683 yards of total offense on 107 plays on offense.  The Colonels were penalized seven times for 50 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.  Murray State recorded 22 first downs and 459 yards on 74 plays on offense.  The Racers were penalized six times for 35 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Dy’Shawn Mobley led Eastern Kentucky’s ground game with 224 yards and five touchdowns on 40 carries.  Jared McClain carried the ball 13 times for 51 yards.  Jared McClain completed 13 of 20 passes for 91 yards with one interception.  Bennie Coney completed 11 of 16 passes for 264 yards and a touchdown.  Jeff Glover caught seven passes for 161 yards.  Dy’Shawn Mobley added four receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown.  Devin Borders caught four passes for 30 yards.  Trey Thomas led the defense with six solo and two assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  Brandon Stanley added five solo and three assisted tackles.  Chris Kelly recorded three solo and five assisted tackles.  Theron Norton chipped in with five solo and two assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.

KD Humphries led Murray State’s ground game with 38 yards and two touchdowns on six carries.  KD Humphries completed 40 of 57 passes for 385 yards and one touchdown with one interception.  Jeremy Harness caught 11 passes for 161 yards.  Nevar Griffin added 10 receptions for 74 yards.  Jesse Blackburn recorded seven catches for 62 yards.  Janawski Davis caught five passes for 64 yards and a touchdown.  Jonathan Jackson led the defense with seven solo and 12 assisted tackles.  Anthony Hayes added five solo and eight assisted tackles.  Joey Cicoria recorded six solo and four assisted tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 36 yards.  Felton Collins added five solo and five assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling nine yards and recovered a fumble.  Murray State falls to 3-8 while Eastern Kentucky improves to 9-2 for the season.

St. Xavier defeated DuPont Manual by a score of 12-7.  Manual led 7-6 at halftime but the deciding touchdown was scored early in the third quarter.  St. Xavier QB Noah Houk’s pass was intercepted by Antonio Hassell who returned it 10 yards to midfield.  However Hassell was tackled by Colin O’Daniel who managed to knock the ball loose and Blake Roshkowski picked the ball up and ran 50 yards to give St. Xavier a 12-7 lead which held up for the rest of the game.  St. Xavier recorded 15 first downs and 206 yards of total offense.  The tigers were penalized 10 times for 80 yards and had two passes intercepted.  DuPont Manual recorded 16 first downs and 232 yards of total offense.  The Crimsons were penalized five times for 45 yards, lost two fumbles, and had three passes intercepted.

Noah Houk led St. Xavier’s ground game with 86 yards on 15 carries.  Noah Houk completed seven of 18 passes for 56 yards with two interceptions.  Jaylon Hibbs caught two passes for 25 yards.  Connor Barnes led the defense with three solo and seven assisted tackles.  Davey Semersheim added four solo and three assisted tackles.  Logan Butler recorded one solo and eight assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.

Andre Teague led Manual’s ground game with 87 yards on 18 carries.  Timothy Comstock completed 10 of 14 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown with three interceptions.  Jalen Carter caught four passes for 37 yards.  Eric Niemann added three receptions for 35 yards.  William Blackford recorded two receptions for 17 yards and a touchdown.

Shelby Valley defeated Lexington Christian Academy by a score of 37-26.  LCA was without the services of star RB Nick Whitman tonight.  Shelby Valley recorded 13 first downs and 324 yards of total offense.  They were penalized eight times for 45 yards.  Lexington Christian Academy recorded 19 first downs and 396 yards of total offense.  The Eagles were penalized eight times for 45 yards and had two passes intercepted.

Chandler Rowe led Shelby Valley’s ground game with 184 yards and four touchdowns on 32 carries.  Kasey Tackett carried the ball 13 times for 105 yards and a touchdown.  Donavan Layne completed two of four passes for 30 yards.  Andrew Newsome caught one pass for 20 yards.  Trevor Wright led the defense with nine solo and eight assisted tackles and one interception.  Chris Gunter added three solo and five assisted tackles.  Quinton Williams recorded one solo and nine assisted tackles.

Dima Ballard led LCA’s ground game with 137 yards on 21 carries.  Dillon Wheatley carried the ball 24 times for 103 yards and three touchdowns.  Dima Ballard completed nine of 21 passes for 139 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Daniel White caught four passes for 46 yards.  Logan Potter caught one pass for 35 yards and a touchdown.  Clay Ach led the defense with nine solo and four assisted tackles.  Kyle Paske added four solo and three assisted tackles.  Logan Potter recorded four solo and one assisted tackles.

Meade County QB John Wilson ran for four touchdowns and the Green Wave defense made a late stand to help Meade County defeat the defending state champions Scott County 27-24.  Meade County recorded 17 first downs and 269 yards of total offense.  The Green Wave was penalized three times for 32 yards.  Scott County recorded 16 first downs and 342 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized three times for 25 yards and lost two fumbles.

John Wilson led Meade County’s ground game with 120 yards and four touchdowns on 29 carries.  John Wilson completed five of nine passes for 81 yards.  Will King caught three passes for 47 yards.  John Wilson led the defense with nine solo and two assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  John Millay added eight solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a five yard loss.  Micah Kaiser recorded six solo and two assisted tackles.

Keith Guy led Scott County’s ground game with 108 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries.  Noah Hughes carried the ball 15 times for 50 yards and two touchdowns.  Clay McKee completed seven of 14 passes for 149 yards.  Cooper Watts caught three passes for 19 yards.  Clark Griffith, Keith Guy, Dylan Smith, and Theo Price each caught one pass for 40, 34, 30, and 26 yards respectively.  Brent Keeshon led the defense with seven solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a three yard loss.  Jeremiah Happy added five solo and five assisted tackles.  Kendrick Hamilton recorded three solo and six assisted tackles.

Rockcastle County took an early 7-0 lead but Lexington Catholic then scored 43 unanswered points to take a 43-7 halftime lead on their way to a 43-20 victory.  Lexington catholic improves to 9-3 while Rockcastle County finishes the season at 7-5.  Lexington Catholic recorded 15 first downs and 363 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized eight times for 73 yards and lost a fumble.  Rockcastle County recorded 10 first downs and 203 yards of total offense.  The Rockets were penalized seven times for 49 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.

Jaylen Jones led Lexington Catholic’s ground game with 113 yards on nine carries.  Reese Ryan carried the ball twice for 50 yards and a touchdown.  Reese Ryan completed seven of 10 passes for 181 yards and five touchdowns.  JJ Ogbogu caught three passes for 41 yards and two touchdowns.  Donovan Morris added two receptions for 91 yards and two touchdowns.  Chris Thompson caught a 39 yard touchdown pass.  Chase Boling led the defense with eight solo and four assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.  Austin Pedroche added two solo and two assisted tackles.  Andy Hickey recorded two solo and one assisted tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 48 yards.

Brent Lovell led Rockcastle County’s ground game with 112 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries.  Dakota Bishop completed one of six passes for 36 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Kyle Denny caught a 36 yard touchdown pass.  Isaiah Mercer led the defense with four solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a six yard loss.  Devon Robinson added three solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a four yard loss.

South Oldham led 14-0 but Anderson County rallied buoyed by a blocked punt return for a touchdown and one fumble recovery return to earn a 42-38 victory.  Anderson County improves to 9-3 for the year while South Oldham finishes their season at 8-3.  Anderson County recorded 15 first downs and 382 yards of total offense.  They were penalized twice for 30 yards and had two passes intercepted.  South Oldham recorded 19 first downs and 549 yards of total offense.  They were penalized twice for 23 yards, lost four fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.

Ryan Martin led Anderson County’s ground game with 88 yards on seven carries.  Zach Carmichael completed 15 of 25 passes for 217 yards and four touchdowns with two interceptions.  Ryan Martin caught four passes for 40 yards.  Brayden Russell added three receptions for 33 yards.  Landon Curry caught two passes for 52 yards and two touchdowns.  JP Garmon recorded two catches for 47 yards.  Chris Toomey caught two passes for 34 yards and two touchdowns.  Braxton Bostic led the defense with 11 solo tackles.  Lane Bicknell added 10 solo tackles and recovered a fumble.  Ian Chilton recorded seven solo tackles.  Landon Curry scored a touchdown on a 15 yard blocked punt return.  Brayden Russell scored on a 9 yard fumble recovery and intercepted a pass he returned 39 yards.

Kevin Kuriger led South Oldham’s ground attack with 148 yards on 18 carries.  Michael McGee carried the ball nine times for 94 yards and a touchdown.  Adam Clark recorded 44 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.  Michael McGee completed eight of 15 passes for 237 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.  Ethan Reinert caught four passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns.  Adam Clark added two receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown.  Connor John led the defense with 11 solo and one assisted tackles.  Adam Clark added nine solo tackles.

Cooper took advantage of eight Franklin County turnovers including scoring on two interception returns in a 27-6 victory.  Cooper improves to 8-4 and Franklin County finishes the season at 8-3.  Cooper recorded 14 first downs and 211 yards of total offense.  They were penalized eight times for 69 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.  Franklin County recorded eight first downs and 194 yards of total offense.  The Flyers were penalized eight times for 77 yards, lost three fumbles, and had five passes intercepted.

Torey Cordell led Cooper’s ground game with 113 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries.  Billy Prickett completed four of 12 passes for 44 yards with one interception.  Dante Hendrix caught two passes for 35 yards.  Aidan Keller led the defense with seven solo and three assisted tackles.  Seth Keller added five solo and four assisted tackles and intercepted two passes with 77 yards returns and two touchdowns.  J. Schlarmin recorded four solo tackles and four assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 13 yards and intercepted a pass.  Sander Roksvag added five solo tackles with four of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 11 yards.

Barrett Sanderson led Franklin County’s ground game with 19 yards on 10 carries.  Barrett Sanderson completed 18 of 29 passes for 135 yards with five interceptions.  DeMarcus Kennedy caught six passes for 58 yards.  Jhanny Rodriguez added five receptions for 38 yards.  Sam Anderson caught three passes for 28 yards.  Jarod Marshall led the defense with 10 solo and one assisted tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 26 yards.  Jhanny Rodriguez added 10 solo tackles.  DeMarcus Kennedy recorded six solo and one assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards.  Sheldon Goins recorded two tackles which resulted in losses totaling 16 yards.  Makale Marks scored a touchdown on a 20 yard blocked punt return.

Koree Krupinski threw a 30 yard touchdown pass to Zach Helton and Garrett Kasey added the conversion kick with six seconds left on the clock to give Central Hardin a 21-20 come-from-behind victory over Bryan Station.  Central Hardin remains undefeated at 12-0 while Bryan Station finishes their season at 7-5.  Central Hardin recorded 19 first downs and 320 yards of total offense.  They were penalized five times for 42 yards and lost a fumble.  Bryan Station recorded 16 first downs and 337 yards of total offense.  The Defenders were penalized twice for 28 yards, lost two fumbles, and had one pass intercepted.

Xavier Arnett led Central Hardin’s ground game with 82 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries.  Stephen Lindsey carried the ball 10 times for 69 yards.  Koree Krupinski carried the ball 12 times for 39 yards and a touchdown.  Koree Krupinski completed nine of 12 passes for 91 yards and a touchdown.  Zach Helton caught two passes for 35 yards and a touchdown.  Xavier Arnett added two receptions for 21 yards.  Dalton Parr led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles.  Markel Willis added four solo and three assisted tackles.

Devon Key led Bryan Station’s ground game with 38 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.  Andre Davis completed 22 of 32 passes for 266 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.  Marcus Floyd caught seven passes for 53 yards and a touchdown.  CJ Walker added five receptions for 26 yards.  Tequan Claitt caught four passes for 126 yards and a touchdown.  K-CI Carmichael added four receptions for 38 yards.  Devon Key led the defense with seven solo and four assisted tackles.  Chris Jackson added six solo and two assisted tackles.  Greg Gerton recorded five solo tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 11 yards.
