Southwestern coach Stephen Butcher started the following lineup:  5-11 Sr. Samantha Fitzgerald, 5-9 Fr. Kallie Sheron, 6-1 Sr. Elizabeth Latham, 5-8 8th Grade Kennedy Harris, and 5-8 Jr. Cassie Reed.  Mercy Academy coach Keith Baisch countered with 5-9 Jr. Josie Woods, 5-9 Fr. Raquael Reese, 6-2 So. Danielle Feldkamp, 5-4 Sr. Jessica Laemmle, and 5-7 Sr. Madi Woods.

 

Southwestern defeated Mercy Academy by a score of 55-48.  Southwestern shot 43.2% from the field including four of 10 from the three point line.  The Warriors connected on 19 of 24 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 18 Mercy Academy turnovers.  Mercy Academy shot 28% from the field including four of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Jaguars connected on 12 of 19 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored nine points off 30 Southwestern turnovers.

 

Cassie Reed led Southwestern with 22 points, 12 rebounds, and eight steals.  Kennedy Harris added nine points including six of six free throws.  Elizabeth Latham pulled down 10 rebounds.

 

Madi Woods led Mercy Academy with 13 points.  5-4 Sr. Maria Schmitz added 12 points.  5-9 Jr. Sadie Zeisloft recorded chipped in with 11 points.  Josie Woods recorded nine points, nine rebounds, and five steals.

Newport central Catholic defeated Lexington Catholic by a score of 67-61.  NCC shot 45.6% from the field including eight of 23 from the three point line.  The Thoroughbreds connected on seven of 11 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 10 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 40.4% from the field including five of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Knights connected on 10 of 15 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 11 Newport Central Catholic turnovers.

 

Ben Weyer led NCC with 19 points, 22 rebounds, two blocked shots, and three steals.  Luke Moeves added 14 points including four three point baskets.  Brennan Hall and John Ludwig recorded 11 and nine points respectively; Ludwig’s on three three point baskets.

 

Luke Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 25 points and five rebounds.  Max Sparkman added nine points and five rebounds.  Zan Payne recorded eight points and 12 rebounds.

Madison Central led 27-18 at halftime but Lexington Christian Academy rallied for a 47-46 victory.  The score was tied three times and there were two lead changes in the game.  Madison Central shot 31.7% from the field including five of 20 from the three point line.  The Indians connected on 15 of 22 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 13 LCA turnovers.  LCA shot 29.7% from the field including two of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on 23 of 34 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 12 Madison Central turnovers.

 

John Williams led Madison Central with 16 points and seven rebounds.  Grant Brockman added 14 points.  Terique Miller chipped in with nine points.

Montgomery County defeated Scott County by a score of 67-62.  The score was tied four times and there were six lead changes in the game.  Montgomery County shot 42.9% from the field including eight of 20 from the three point line.  The Indians connected on 17 of 23 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored nine points off 10 Scott County turnovers.  Scott County shot 32.9% from the field including five of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Cardinals connected on nine of 20 free throws, pulled down 54 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 14 Montgomery County turnovers.

 

Art Walker led Montgomery County with 16 points including four three point baskets.  Jerryd Jones added 13 points.  Shelby Combs chipped in with 12 points and seven rebounds.  Cody Parsley also scored 12 points.  Brennan Canada pulled down nine rebounds.  Caswell Fuller recorded seven points and 10 assists.

Mercer County defeated Henry Clay by a score of 78-57.  Mercer County held a 42-12 in three point points.  Mercer County shot 43.9% from the field including 14 of 31 from the three point line.  The Titans connected on 14 of 20 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 31 points off 26 Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 37.8% from the field including four of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Blue Devils connected on 19 of 32 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 16 Mercer County turnovers.

 

Seygan Robbins led Mercer County with 24 points including five three point baskets and seven assists.  Lexy Lake added 17 points including five three point baskets.  Lyric Houston recorded nine points, four rebounds, four assists, and five steals.  Seygan Robbins was named Game MVP.

 

T’Laya Lyvers led Henry Clay with 13 points, five rebounds, and four steals.  5-8 Jr. Lexi Long and 5-4 So. Alexis Lutz each recorded 12 points.

Franklin County trailed 35-26 after three quarters but rallied for a 50-47 victory over DuPont Manual.  Franklin County shot 23.1% from the field including two of 22 from the three point line.  The Flyers connected on 24 of 44 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 22 Manual turnovers.  Manual shot 28.85 from the field including two of nine from beyond the arc.  The Crimsons connected on 15 of 22 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 13 Franklin County turnovers.

 

Rebecca Cook led Franklin County with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Princess Stewart added 11 points and eight rebounds.  Malaka Frank recorded eight points and six rebounds.  Rebecca Cook was named Game MVP.

 

Krys McCune led Manual with 16 points.  Jaela Johnson added 12 points.  Tonysha Curry pulled down 14 rebounds.  5-11 Fr. Nila Blackford chipped in with five points and nine rebounds.

Glasgow star Breanna Glover had a dominating performance today and Harlan County star Blair Green got three quick fouls and was limited to 19:29 minutes as Glasgow earned a 56-46 victory.  Glasgow shot 36.8% from the field including two of 10 from the three point line.  The Lady Scotties connected on 12 of 26 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 27 Harlan County turnovers.  Harlan County shot 45.5% from the field including two of six from beyond the arc.  The Lady Black Bears connected on for of 11 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 11 Glasgow turnovers.

 

Breanna Glover led Glasgow with 34 points, 16 rebounds, two blocked shots, and nine steals.  Kaylyn Hale added seven points.  Breanna Glover was named Game MVP.

 

Kaylea Gross led Harlan County with 14 points and eight rebounds.  Rebecca Middleton added 11 points.  Breann Turner pulled down 10 rebounds.  Blair Green recorded seven points, four rebounds, and seven assists.

Covington Holy Cross coach Kes Murphy started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Morgan Gabbard, 5-8 Jr. Zyah Beal, 5-10 Jr. Courtney Turner, 5-7 Sr. Dajah McClendon, and 5-7 Jr. Aleah Tucker.  Allen County-Scottsville coach Brad Bonds countered with 5-6 Sr. Sydney Hurt, 5-9 Sr. Savannah Gregory, 5-11 Fr. Mason Towery, 5-7 Sr. Jordan Brooks, and 5-6 Sr. Kayla Hudson.  (5-11 Sr. Sarah Sutton missed today’s game due to an injury).

 

Covington Holy Cross trailed 16-9 at halftime but quickly erased the deficit with three three point baskets early in the third quarter on their way to a 41-35 victory over Allen County-Scottsville.  Covington Holy Cross shot 44.4% from the field including five of 12 from the three point line.  The Indians connected on four of 10 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 14 Allen County-Scottsville turnovers.  Allen County-Scottsville shot 22.2% from the field including zero of six from beyond the arc.  The Lady patriots connected on 19 of 26 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 19 Covington Holy cross turnovers.

 

Aleah Tucker led Covington Holy cross with 17 points including three three point baskets and three steals.  Dajah McClendon added 10 points.  Aleah Tucker was named Game MVP.

 

Mason Towery led Allen County-Scottsville with 11 points and six rebounds.  Savannah Gregory added 11 points, four rebounds, and three steals.
