Tennessee State defeated Eastern Kentucky University 45-21 in a game that had more plot changes than a good murder mystery.  Tennessee State took a 17-0 lead at halftime and appeared to be in control of the game.  Eastern Kentucky came to life in the third quarter behind a touchdown run and touchdown pass by Tim Boyle to trail 17-14 after three quarters.  The Colonels actually took a 21-17 lead early in the final quarter with a six yard touchdown pass from Tim Boyle to Ryan Markush.  Tennessee State rallied to take a 24-21 lead on a Michael Hughes one yard run and conversion kick by Lane Clark with 6:53 left in the game and then the wheels fell off for Eastern Kentucky.  Tennessee State’s secondary stepped up and recorded three interceptions and returns for touchdowns to quiet the home crowd and send the Colonels to a 1-4 record for the season.  Tennessee State improves to 4-2 for the season.  Tennessee State’s three pick sixes occurred at 6:40, 3:47, and 3:09 on the clock.
