Covington Catholic took a 36-0 lead and went to a running clock with 3:35 to go in the first half on their way to a 49-9 victory over Madison Southern.  Covington Catholic recorded 14 first downs and 325 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized once for five yards and had a pass intercepted.  Madison Southern recorded three first downs and 67 yards of total offense.  The Eagles were penalized three times for 25 yards and had two passes intercepted.

Daniel Felix led Covington Catholic’s ground game with 86 yards and four touchdowns on 10 carries.  Owen Nally carried the ball six times for 36 yards and a touchdown.  Reid Hummel recorded 31 yards on five carries.  Caleb Jacob carried the ball twice for 31 yards.  Caleb Jacob completed nine of 11 passes for 136 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.  Ethan Reardon caught three passes for 76 yards.  Michael Mayer added three receptions for 31 yards and a touchdown.  Andy Molique caught two passes for 30 yards and a touchdown.  Jack Stava returned one kickoff for 26 yards.  Trey Gronette kicked off seven times for a 58.1 average with five touch backs.  Michael Mayer led the defense with five solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in an 11 yard loss.  David Sullivan added four sol tackles.  John Lawrie recorded three solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a two yard loss.  Jackson Hodge’s one solo tackles resulted in a 17 yard loss.  Ryan Schneider and Jack Raisbeck each intercepted a pass.

Adrian Jones led Madison Southern’s ground game with 54 yards on 14 carries.  Tobias Storm carried the ball eight times for five yards and a touchdown.  Tobias Storm completed one of seven yards for eight yards with two interceptions.  Walt Smith caught one pass for eight yards.  Walt Smith returned three kickoffs for 41 yards with a long return of 20 yards.  Levi Benton led the defense with six solo and four assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a one yard loss.  Jayshaun Ethrid added four solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a one yard loss.  Jackson Chamber also recorded four solo tackles.  Jonah Farnstrom intercepted a pass.

Florida International University coach Jeremy Ballard started the following lineup: 6-6 Sr. Devon Andrews, 6-5 Sr. Trejon Jacob, 6-9 Sr. Osasumwen Osaghae, 5-8 Jr. Tevin Brewer, and 6-1 So. Antonio Daye Jr.  Eastern Kentucky University coach AW Hamilton countered with 6-8 Sr. Tre King, 6-3 Sr. Ty Taylor, 6-8 Jr. Darius Hicks, 6-0 Jr. Russhard Cruickshank, and 6-2 So. Jomaru Brown.

 

FIU defeated Eastern Kentucky by a score of 89-70.  Eastern Kentucky trailed Florida International 68-60 in the second half but the Panthers went on a 15-2 run to take control of the game.  Florida International shot 56.7% from the field including six of 21 from the three point line.  The Panthers connected on 15 of 20 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 24 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 32.8% from the field including seven of 24 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 21 of 28 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 21 FIU turnovers.

 

Devon Andrews led Florida International University with 24 points including two three point baskets, eight rebounds, and three assists.  Osaumwen Osaghae added 22 points, seven rebounds, and five blocked shots.  Osaghae was eight of nine from the field and six of eight from the free throw line.  6-5 Jr. Isaiah Banks recorded 10 points and six rebounds.  Antonio Daye Jr. chipped in with nine points, five assists, and four steals.  Tevin Brewer added eight points including two three point baskets, four assists, and four steals

 

Jomaru Brown led Eastern Kentucky University with 19 points including 10 of 11 free throws, three rebounds, and two assists.  Ty Taylor also scored 19 points and pulled down seven rebounds.  Tre King recorded 10 points, eight rebounds, and two steals.  Darius Hicks chipped in with seven points and nine rebounds.

Miami (OH) coach DeUnna Hendrix started the following lineup: 6-1 Jr. Abbey Hoff, 5-10 Jr. Kenzie Schmitz, 6-2 Sr. Savannah Kluesner, 5-3 Sr. Lauren Dickerson, and 5-8 Fr. Peyton Scott.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Samantha Williams countered with 6-1 Jr. Samari Mowbray, 5-8 Sr. Shay Solomon, 6-2 Jr. I’Liyah Green, 5-6 Jr. Teri Goodlett, and 5-7 Jr. De’ayra Davis.

 

Miami (OH) raced out to a 21 point lead in the second quarter and withstood a rally by Eastern Kentucky in the third quarter in which the Colonels pulled to within six points before the Redhawks pulled away for a 75-57 victory.  Eastern Kentucky did not have an answer for Lauren Dickerson who torched the Colonels for 37 points including eight three point baskets.

 

Miami (OH) shot 46% from the field including 12 of 25 from the three point line.  The Redhawks connected on five of seven free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 22 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 42.1% from the field including four of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on five of six free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored eight points off 13 Miami (OH) turnovers.

 

Lauren Dickerson led Miami (OH) with 37 points including eight three point baskets, eight assists, and four steals.  Savannah Kluesner added 14 points, 13 rebounds, and three assists.  Peyton Scott recorded 11 points, three rebounds, three assists, and four steals. 

 

5-11 Jr. Bria Bass led a 31-2 advantage in bench scoring for Eastern Kentucky with 17 points and five rebounds.  6-1 Fr. Anysa Jordan added 11 points and three rebounds.  Shay Solomon recorded eight points, six rebounds, and four assists.  I’Liyah Green chipped in with eight points and five rebounds.

Eastern Kentucky University had seven players score in double figures in a 99-63 victory over Alice Lloyd.  Eastern Kentucky shot 44.3% from the field including 15 of 40 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 14 of 20 free throws, pulled down 48 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 19 Alice Lloyd turnovers.  Alice Lloyd shot 28.4% from the field including seven of 26 from beyond the arc.  They connected on 14 of 18 free throws, pulled down 50 rebounds, and scored eight points off nine Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

 

Ty Taylor led Eastern Kentucky with 18 points including three three point baskets, eight rebounds, and five assists.  6-9 Sr. Lachlan Anderson added 16 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.  Tre King recorded 15 points, four rebounds, and two blocked shots.  6-7 Fr. Michael Moreno scored 14 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, and three assists.  Russhard Cruickshank also scored 14 points including four three point baskets, five assists, and three steals.  5-10 Jr. Cameron Carmichal added 12 points on four three point baskets, five assists, and two steals.  Darius Hicks recorded 10 points and 11 rebounds. 

 

Blake Smith led Alice Lloyd with 20 points including two three point baskets, eight rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Will Philpot added 10 points, 15 rebounds, and one blocked shot.  Noah Young recorded nine points and three assists.  6-1 So. Butler raced out to a 14-2 first quarter lead and was never threatened on their way to a 73-41 victory over Eastern Kentucky.  Butler shot 45.5% from the field including seven of 13 from the three point line.  They connected on 16 of 25 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 27 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 29.1% from the field including four of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on five of 11 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 23 Butler turnovers.

 

Kristen Spolyar led Butler with 19 points, six rebounds, and three steals.  Naira Caceres added 14 points including three three point baskets, eight rebounds, and two steals.  Genesis Parker also reached double figures with 10 points.  5-11 Fr. Oumou Toure recorded nine points, nine rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Shae Brey chipped in with seven points, three rebounds, and six assists.

Tre King, 6-3 Sr. Ty Taylor, 6-8 Jr. Darius Hicks, 6-0 Jr. Russhard Cruicshank, and 6-2 So. Jomaru Brown.

 

Western Kentucky utilized their inside game to race out to an 18 point lead with 7:49 left in the game on their way to a 79-71 victory over Eastern Kentucky.  The Hilltoppers held a 44-26 advantage in the paint to overcome a 41 point scoring effort by the Colonel’s Jomaru Brown.  There were four ties and four lead changes in this game.  Western Kentucky shot 50.9% from the field including five of 18 from the three point line.  The Hilltoppers connected on 18 of 24 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 19 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 44.3% from the field including seven of 27 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 10 of 14 free throws, puled down 29 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 23 Western Kentucky turnovers.

 

Charles Bassey led Western Kentucky with 18 points and 12 rebounds.  Carson Williams added 15 points and five assists.  6-1 Fr. Jordan Rawls recorded 14 points including two three point baskets.  6-6 Jr. Josh Anderson chipped in with 11 points including nine of 12 free throws and five steals.  Taveion Hollingsworth turned in a complete performance with seven points, five rebounds, five assists, and five steals. 

 

Jomaru Brown led Eastern Kentucky with 41 points including four three point baskets, two assists, and three steals.  Brown was 16 of 28 from the field including four of 11 from beyond the arc, and five of six free throws.  Ty Taylor added nine points and four rebounds.  6-9 Sr. Lachlan Anderson recorded nine points including two three point baskets and four rebounds.  Darius Hicks chipped in with six points and seven rebounds.

Eastern Kentucky raced out to a 66-26 halftime lead on their way to a 129-43 victory over Ohio-Chillicothe.  EKU recorded 27 steals and scored 57 points off 37 Ohio-Chillicothe turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 54.7% from the field including 18 of 45 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 17 of 20 free throws, pulled down 48 rebounds, and held a 52-14 advantage in bench scoring.  Ohio-Chillicothe shot 33.3% from the field including five of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Hilltoppers connected on eight of 11 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored eight points off 10 EKU turnovers.

 

Jomaru Brown led eight Colonels in double figures with 22 points including four three point baskets, four assists, and three steals.  Ty Taylor added 20 points including six three point baskets, five assists, and five steals.  Russhard Cruickshank recorded 15 points on five three point baskets, six assists, and six steals.  Tre King added 14 points and eight rebounds.  6-9 Sr. Lachlan Anderson added 13 points and five rebounds.  6-10 Fr. Eastern Kentucky University utilized a rock solid defense to defeat Tennessee Tech University by a score of 22-10.  The Colonels limited Tennessee Tech to 150 yards of total offense and two yards net rushing on 25 carries.  QB Barry Fisher was limited to 148 yards passing and was sacked seven times led by Taquan Evans who was consistently in the Tennessee Tech backfield and sacked the QB three times for losses totaling 14 yards.  EKU got rushing touchdowns from Daryl McCleskey and Alonzo Booth and Sam Hayworth added field goals of 22, 36, and 29 yards.  Eastern Kentucky University recorded 24 first downs and 442 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized twice for 29 yards, lost a fumble, and had one pass intercepted.  Tennessee Tech University recorded 11 first downs and 150 yards of total offense.  They were penalized five times for 40 yards.

Simon Kenton defeated Dixie Heights by a score of 41-17.  The Pioneers led 24-14 at halftime and pulled away in the second half for the victory.  Simon Kenton recorded 27 first downs and 492 yards of total offense.  The Pioneers were penalized seven times for 75 yards, lost two fumbles, and had one pass intercepted.  Dixie Heights recorded 17 first downs and 294 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized eight times for 55 yards and had three passes intercepted.

Austin Hammack led Simon Kenton’s ground game with 251 yards and three touchdowns on 32 carries.  Chase Crone carried the ball 14 times for 93 yards and a touchdown.  Marcus Courtney recorded 45 yards and a touchdown on five carries.  Chase Crone completed eight of 16 passes for 72 yards with one interception.  Evan Mulberry caught four passes for 46 yards.  Caleb Livers added two receptions for 15 yards.  Caleb Livers returned two punts for 40 yards.  Vuk Sajlovic led the defense with six solo and six assisted tackles.  Zach Koenes added seven solo and three assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.  Isaac Bleier recorded four solo and six assisted tackles, intercepted a pass, and recovered a fumble.  Tyler Musick also intercepted a pass.

Leon Marshall led Dixie Heights’ ground game with 72 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.  Logan Landers carried the ball four times for 31 yards.  Jeremy Adams chipped in with 26 yards on three carries.  Logan Landers completed 21 of 34 passes for 133 yards with three interceptions.  Kel Hawkins caught five passes for 49 yards.  Jacob James added seven receptions for 28 yards.  Pierce Rohlman led the defense with 10 solo and one assisted tackles.  Ashton Barker added seven solo and one assisted tackles.  Rhys Brown recorded five solo and three assisted tackles.  Cayden Anderson scored on an interception return.
