Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey started the following lineup: 5-10 So. Bailey Hensley, 5-7 So. Eden Carter, 5-9 Sr. Kessaney Melton, 5-7 Fr. Brittany Campbell, and 5-6 Fr. Nataya Strader. East Jessamine coach Steve Bridenbaugh countered with 5-5 Fr .Gabrielle Curtis, 5-5 Sr. Shaela Taylor, 5-11 Jr. Linzey Napier, 5-4 Jr. Reece Evans, and 5-4 Sr. Irma Hagins.
5-3 Fr. Lina Guerra threaded a pass to a driving Kessaney Melton for a basket at 5.3 seconds left in the game to give what proved to be the winning basket in an improbable 69-67 Madison Central comeback victory over East Jessamine. Madison Central trailed by 17 points in the third quarter and trailed 50-36 after three quarters. Madison Central rallied and outscored East Jessamine 33-17 in the final quarter. The score was tied five times and there were six lead changes in the game. Madison Central shot 45.5% from the field including five of 16 from the three point line. The Lady Indians connected on 14 of 19 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 15 East Jessamine turnovers. East Jessamine shot 39.3% from the field including seven of 19 from beyond the arc. The Lady Jaguars connected on 16 of 28 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 14 Madison Central turnovers.
Bailey Hensley led Madison Central with 21 points, 12 rebounds, and two steals. Brittany Campbell added 12 points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, eight assists, and three steals. Kessaney Melton recorded nine points including three of three free throws, and five rebounds. 5-7 So. Olivia Metcalfe chipped in with eight points including four of four free throws. Nataya Strader and Eden Carter added seven and six points respectively.
5-9 Jr. Iesha Dean led East Jessamine with 19 points including five of eight free throws and 13 rebounds. 5-6 Jr. Jermyra Christian added 18 points including two three point baskets, four of eight free throws, seven rebounds, nine assists, and four steals. Irma Hagins recorded 14 points including five of eight free throws, three rebounds, two assists, and three steals. 5-7 So. Shelby Luong chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets and five rebounds.
