Bowling Green executed the old hook-and-lateral pass to defeat South Warren in a 36-29 come-from-behind victory over South Warren. Deuce Bailey took the snap at the South Warren 40 threw a short pass to Trevy Barber who pitched the ball back to Montravion Graham who raced to the end zone to give Bowling Green a 34-29 lead and the Purples converted a two point play to make the score 36-29 with six seconds left in the game. South Warren had taken the lead 29-28 with approximately 30 seconds left on the clock on a nine yard pass from Bryce Button to Isaiah Rigsby and a two point conversion run by Button. Bowling Green recorded 387 yards with no turnovers and South Warren recorded 525 yards but lost two fumbles.

Montravion Graham led Bowling Green’s ground game with 48 yards and a touchdown on four carries. Javen Huddleston carried the ball twice for 20 yards. Deuce Bailey completed 21 of 29 yards for 356 yards and three touchdowns. Trevy Barber caught five passes for 100 yards and a touchdown. Montravion Graham added three receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown. Christopher Sweeney recorded seven receptions for 97 yard and a touchdown. Jayden Axson led the defense with three solo and 15 assisted tackles. Ethan Warder added three solo and 12 assisted tackles and recovered a fumble. Max Buchanon recorded 12 assisted tackles. Wick Dotson chipped in with two solo and nine assisted tackles. Grayson Newman scored on a 14 yard fumble recovery return.

Jimmy Sales led South Warren’s ground game with 149 yards on 22 carries. Bryce Button added 48 yards and a touchdown on eight carries. Jayce Cutrona recorded 37 yards on 10 carries. Bryce Button completed 22 of 37 passes for 289 yards and three touchdowns. Isaiah Rigsby caught six passes for 87 yards and a touchdown. Bailey Shoemaker added four receptions for 78 yards and a touchdown. DeShawn Bridges recorded three receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown. Colton Veltkamp chipped in with six receptions for 53 yards. DeShawn Bridges led the defense with four solo and two assisted tackles. Brady Enslow added one solo and four assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses. Isaiah Rigsby recorded three solo and one assisted tackles. Kairan Hanes also recorded three solo and one assisted tackles. Jimmy Sale and Drayson Moore each recorded two solo and two assisted tackles. South Warren was hampered by the loss of 2-way star Ethan Reynolds who left the game early with an injury.

Nathan Kitchens caught a 38 yard Hail-Mary pass from Brady Lee that was actually tipped to give Simon Kenton a 27-21 victory over Campbell County as time expired. Simon Kenton recorded 473 yards of total offense while Campbell County recorded 320 yards of total offense.

Durell Turner led Simon Kenton’s ground game with 205 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. Brady Lee carried the ball eight times for 25 yards. Tysin Weaver recorded 14 yards and a touchdown on four carries. Brady Lee completed 22 of 28 passes for 229 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. Nathan Kitchens caught four passes for 73 yards and a touchdown. Grayson Harris added 10 receptions for 66 yards. Tysin Weaver recorded three receptions for 38 yards and a touchdown. Durell Turner chipped in with four receptions for 37 yards.

Nathan Smith led Campbell County’s ground game with 126 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries. Garyn Jackson carried the ball five times for 48 yards. Carson Evers recorded 47 yards on nine carries. Nathan Smith completed 10 of 25 passes for 75 yards. Garyn Jackson caught four passes for 37 yards. Xavier Francher added one reception for 17 yards. Dawson Craddock recorded three receptions for 14 yards. Joseph Amato led the defense with eight solo and six assisted tackles. Caleb Milton added one solo and eight assisted tackles. Mason Wiseman recorded three solo and six assisted tackles. Hunter Wiseman added three solo and five assisted tackles and scored on a 42 yard interception return.

Frederick Douglass defeated Bryan Station by the score of 34-14 highlighted by an electrifying 50 yard punt return by Frederick Douglass’ Derion Talbert who reversed fields and went from side line to side line to find the end zone on a highlight film play. Frederick Douglass recorded 15 first downs and 292 yards of total offense. The Broncos were penalized seven times for 80 yards. Bryan Station recorded 19 first downs and 297 yards of total offense. The Defenders were penalized seven times for 65 yards and lost two fumbles.

Derion Talbert led Frederick Douglass’ ground game with 126 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. Kenoxie Allen carried the ball six times for 23 yards. Jaxon Strautman recorded 18 yards and a touchdown on six carries. Jaxon Strautman completed seven of 14 passes for 117 yards and two touchdowns. Derion Talbert caught three passes for 34 yards. Avieon Chanault caught two passes for 43 yards and a touchdown. Terry Cayson added a 41 yard touchdown reception. Derion Talbert returned one punt for a 50 yard touchdown. Jeremiah Lowe returned two kickoffs for 57 yards with a long return of 45 yards. Darion Neal led the defense with five solo and four assisted tackles and recovered a fumble. Logan Busson added three solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a six yard loss. Terrion Hicks recorded three solo and two assisted tackles. Trenton Cutwright completed 13 of 23 passes for 115 yards and one touchdown. Dahvon Frazier caught five passes for 42 yards and a touchdown. Demond Green added four receptions for 43 yards. JT Haskins Jr. recorded two receptions for 22 yards. Jordan Haskins returned two punts for 10 yards with a long return of nine yards and Demond Green returned one kickoff for 19 yards. Covington Catholic continues to roll with a 56-6 victory over Harrison County. Covington Catholic recorded 14 first downs and 393 yards of total offense. The Colonels were penalized four times for 45 yards. Harrison County recorded 19 first downs and 309 yards of total offense. The Thoroughbreds were penalized six times for 55 yards and had a pass intercepted.

Charlie Ink led the Covington Catholic ground game with 49 yards on one carry. Owen Leen carried the ball five times for 44 yards and two touchdowns. Eill Michels recorded 20 yards and a touchdown on three carries. Luke Rabe carried the ball twice for 21 yards and a touchdown. Evan Pitzer completed eight of eight passes for 228 yards and three touchdowns. Braylon Miller caught two passes for 88 yards. Oliver Link added 70 yards and a touchdown on two receptions. Noah Johnson caught two passes for 40 yards. Willie Rodriguez recorded two receptions for 30 yards and two touchdowns. Dylan Gaiser returned one punt for 45 yards and a touchdown. Cash Harney and Charlie Ink each returned one kickoff for 28 and 24 yards respectively. Tucker Evans led the defense with five solo and two assisted tackles. They were penalized seven times for 36 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.

Brady Hensley led Lexington Christian Academy’s ground game with 139 yards and four touchdowns on seven carries. Cutter Boley completed eight of 13 passes for 144 yards and two touchdowns. Bryce Bentley completed one of two passes for 15 yards and one touchdown. Parker Chaney caught three passes for 43 yards. Nate Barnhardt added two receptions for 22 yards. Saxton Howard, Will Rich, and Payton Mayhorn each caught a touchdown pass of 34, 19, and 15 yards respectively. Tyler King returned one kickoff for 39 yards. Scott County defeated Woodford County by the score of 36-0. Scott County recorded 17 first downs and 414 yards of total offense. The Cardinals were penalized six times for 105 yards. Woodford County recorded nine first downs and 175 yards of total offense. The Yellow Jackets were penalized twice for 65 yards and lost a fumble.

Jacob Fryman led Scott County’s ground game with 85 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. Thomas Feickert carried the ball six times for 65 yards and a touchdown. Ellis Huguely recorded 42 yards and a touchdown on eight carries. Timmy Emongo chipped in with 39 yards and a touchdown on two carries. Kanye Garrett added 35 yards on seven carries. Andrew Hickey completed three of four passes for 98 yards and a touchdown. Thomas Feickert caught one pass for 52 yards and a touchdown. Ellis Huguely added one reception for 36 yards. J. Stevenson led the defense with three solo and four assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a four yard loss and recovered a fumble he returned 13 yards.

Justus Wertzler led Woodford County’s ground game with 46 yards on seven carries. Justus Wertzler completed seven of 19 passes for 63 yards. Leland Taylor caught four passes for 40 yards. Leland Taylor returned two kickoffs for 88 yards with a long return of 53 yards. Dayvion Sturgis led the defense with seven solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a one yard loss. Graham Hodge added five solo and six assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a one yard loss. Darrian Tomlin recorded five solo and four assisted tackles. Wyatt Peters chipped in with one solo and six assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a two yard loss.

Tates Creek defeated Lafayette by the score of 42-16. Tates Creek recorded 22 first downs and 472 yards of total offense. The Commodores were penalized 12 times for 159 yards and had a pass intercepted. Lafayette recorded 19 first downs and 290 yards of total offense. The Generals were penalized six times for 40 yards.

Marquevion Smith led Tates Creek’s ground game with 157 yards on 17 carries. Andrew Witherington carried the ball eight times for 30 yards and a touchdown. Andrew Witherington completed 23 of 30 passes for 275 yards and four touchdowns with one interception. JT Cooper caught eight passes for 85 yards and one touchdown. Marquevion Smith added six receptions for 99 yards and two touchdowns. Thomas Seigler recorded six receptions for 38 yards. Luke Cooper chipped in with two receptions for 33 yards and a touchdown. Senator Clay returned one punt for 12 yards and returned two kickoffs for 39 yards including a long return of 30 yards. Jaysean Layne led the defense with seven solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a loss of five yards. Thomas Seigler added six solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a four yard loss. Logan Julian recorded six solo and two assisted tackles with four of his tackles resulting in losses totaling21 yards, and scored a touchdown on a blocked punt return. Detrell Johnson chipped in with five solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a five yard loss. Michael Winn added three solo and five assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 11 yards.

KJ Jones led Lafayette’s ground game with 81 yards on 10 carries. DJ Walker carried the ball 16 times for 15 yards and a touchdown. DJ Walker completed 19 of 35 passes for 180 yards and one touchdown. Kevin Amuri caught eight passes for 87 yards and a touchdown. Nasir Andrews added three receptions for 45 yards. Terraze Taylor returned three kickoffs for 36 yards with a long return of 20 yards. Tristian Taylor returned one kickoff for 26 yards. Felix Brady led the defense with five solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a five yard loss. C. Giannone, Nemo Jarber, and AJ Nichols each recorded four solo and two assisted tackles. Kevin Amuri chipped in with four solo tackles. Cael Green recorded three solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 11 yards. J. Paul Laurence Dunbar earns their second victory of the season with a 32-0 victory over winless Henry Clay. This was a frustrating game for Henry Clay summed up by the first two possessions with Henry Clay getting the ball first and moving to the Dunbar one aided by a 51 yard pass play from Rohan Taylor to Walden Cole. Henry Clay was stopped on downs at the 1 but had Dunbar pinned deep in their own territory. However on the Bulldogs first play from scrimmage Noe Kayembe ran 94 yards to the Henry Clay five yard line and three plays later the Bulldogs scored on a three yard touchdown pass from Ethan Teall to Harrison Simpson. Paul Laurence Dunbar recorded 12 first downs and 289 yards of total yardage. The Bulldogs were penalized five times for 50 yards and had one pass intercepted. Henry Clay recorded six first downs and 147 yards of total offense. The Blue Devils were penalized five times for 40 yards and lost a fumble.

Noe Kayembe led Dunbar’s ground game with 125 yards on 10 carries. Ethan Teall completed 18 of 25 passes for 166 yards and five touchdowns with one interception. Trae Berry caught five passes for 53 yards and two touchdowns. Mason VanDyke added four receptions for 43 yards and a touchdown. Harrison Simpson recorded three catches for 32 yards and two touchdowns. Conner Norsworthy returned one kickoff for 25 yards. Colton Turlington led the defense with seven solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 23 yards. Trenton Berry added five solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a two yard loss. Aiden Berry recorded four solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a one yard loss. Kyan Hall recorded a fumble recovery,

Henry Mackey led Henry Clay’s ground game with 61 yards on 12 carries. Walden Cole carried the ball nine times for 40 yards. Rohan Taylor completed his only pass for 51 yards. Walden Cole caught one pass for 51 yards. Antoine Webb returned two kickoffs for 47 yards with a long return of 24 yards. Luke Bailey returned two kickoffs for 43 yards with a long return of 27 yards. Henry Mackey led the defense with six solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a five yard loss. Walden Cole added three solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a five yard loss. William Ballard recorded four solo tackles. Luke DiNardo chipped in with three solo and one assisted tackles. Luke Bailey intercepted a pass he returned 15 yards.

The ground was shaking on Log Mountain tonight with two of the best running backs in the state on display with Daniel Thomas of Bell County and Steve Partin of Knox Central displaying their skills. Bell County came away with a 52-28 victory tonight and recorded 382 yards of total offense compared to 299 yards for Knox Central. Knox Central turned over the ball three times tonight while Bell County only had one turnover.

Daniel Thomas led Bell County’s ground game with 251 yards and five touchdowns on 22 carries. Blake Burnett carried the ball six times for 83 yards and a touchdown. Blake Burnett completed two of three passes for 48 yards and a touchdown. Kaleb Miller caught a 39 yard touchdown pass. Blake Evans led the defense with 14 solo and five assisted tackles. Joshua Owens added 14 solo and one assisted tackles. Hayden Dameron recorded five solo and five assisted tackles. Daniel Thomas added six solo and three assisted tackles. Hunter Everage recorded eight solo tackles. James Neal recovered a fumble and Blake Burnett intercepted two passes with 91 yards of total return yardage.

Steve Partin led Knox Central’s ground game with 144 yards and two touchdowns on 32 carries. Mason Griffin carried the ball nine times for 23 yards. Mason Griffin completed 18 of 27 passes for 113 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions. Steve Partin completed his only pass for a five yard touchdown. Jacob Smith caught eight passes for 31 yards. Zach Carroll added three receptions for 27 yards. Nathan Dunn recorded four catches for 25 yards and a touchdown. Steve Partin caught one pass for 18 yards and Landen Daughtry added three receptions for 17 yards and a touchdown. Steve Partin led the defense with five solo and two assisted tackles. Brayden Sizemore added four solo and two assisted tackles. Landen Daughtry recorded one solo and four assisted tackles and Eueli Martinez chipped in with two solo and three assisted tackles. Ryle defeated Campbell County 37-36 in overtime. Campbell County led late by the score of 30-27 but Ryle’s Josh Line kicked a 27yard field goal at the buzzer to knot the score at 30-30 and force overtime. Ryle got the ball first in overtime and scored on a 10 yard run by Jacob Savage and the conversion kick by Josh Line to give Ryle a 37-30 lead. Campbell County scored on a two yard run by Nathan Smith but elected to go for the win and the pass failed to connect leaving Campbell County on the short end of a 37-36 score. Ryle held a 378-252 advantage in total yardage.

Logan Verax led Ryle’s ground game with 28 yards on 12 carries. Gavin Lyons carried the ball three times for 13 yards and a touchdown. Jacob Savage recorded 12 yards and a touchdown on three carries. Logan Verax completed 34 of 46 passes for 335 yards and three touchdowns. Landon Lorms caught 13 passes for 117 yards and two touchdowns. Dylan Lee caught seven passes for 74 yards and a touchdown. JR Hayes added five receptions for 54 yards. Jacob Savage chipped in with five catches for 51 yards. Jacob Savage led the defense with six solo and 12 assisted tackles with two of his tackles for losses. Grady Reynolds added six solo and five assisted tackles.
