Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Erik Daniels countered with 5-9 Sr. Bella Rusing, 5-7 Sr. Justice Biggerstaff, 5-10 Fr. Ellie Lavey, 5-4 Fr. Layla Flynn, and 5-5 Sr. Eriyaune Daniels.

Lexington Christian Academy defeated Paul Laurence Dunbar by the score of 43-35. The score was tied twice and there were five lead changes in the game. LCA shot 27% from the field including five of 17 from the three point line. The Lady Eagles connected on 18 of 25 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 13 Dunbar turnovers. Dunbar shot 27.1% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc. The Lady Bulldogs connected on five of eight free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 21 LCA turnovers.

Claire Roberts led LCA with 16 points including two three point baskets, eight of 11 free throws, seven rebounds, and three steals. Chapel Brown added 10 points including three of four free throws, four rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Koko Castle recorded six points on six of eight free throws and eight rebounds. Ella Gabbert chipped in with six points on two three point baskets. Jenny Bertram added three points, nine rebounds, and two steals. 5-9 Jr. Sophie Pridemore recorded two points and six rebounds.

Layla Flynn led Dunbar with 12 points, seven rebounds, and nine steals. Eriyaune Daniels added nine points on three three point baskets, and two rebounds. Bella Rusing recorded seven points, three rebounds, and three steals. Justice Biggerstaff chipped in with five points and five rebounds. Ellie Lavey recorded two points, three rebounds, two blocked shots, and two steals.

Boyle County coach Dennie Webb started the following lineup: 6-1 Fr. Guy Turner, 6-0 Sr. Avery Bodner, 6-1 Jr. Brock Driver, 5-8 Jr. Montavin Quisenberry, and 5-10 Jr. Demauriah Brown. Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-5 Sr. Tyler Doyle, 6-4 Sr. Rowan Williams, 6-7 Sr. Miller Williams, 6-0 Sr. Sam Smith, and 6-0 Sr. John Reinhart.

Lexington Catholic raced out to a 30-7 first quarter lead and was never threatened in a 96-37 victory over Boyle County. Lexington Catholic shot 58.7% from the field including 13 of 23 from the three point line and dished out 28 assists. The Knights connected on nine of 13 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 15 points off nine Boyle County turnovers. Boyle County shot 27.6% from the field including two of 15 from beyond the arc. The Rebels connected on three of six free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored four points off five Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Rowan Williams led Lexington Catholic with 17 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Tyler Doyle added 14 points, five rebounds, and eight assists. John Reinhart recorded 11 points including three three point baskets and three rebounds. Sam Smith chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets, three rebounds, and three assists. 6-0 Sr. Gist Heinrich also scored nine points including two three point baskets. Miller Williams added eight points, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals. 6-6 Max Meagher chipped in with eight points and three rebounds. 6-4 Sr. Owen Kennedy added six points, four rebounds, and two assists.

Guy Turner led Boyle County with 15 points and five rebounds. Demauriah Brown added seven points and three rebounds.

Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-5 Sr. Tyler Doyle, 6-4 Sr. Rowan Williams, 6-7 Sr. Miller Williams, 6-0 Sr. Sam Smith, and 6-0 Sr. John Reinhart.

The latest installation of the often called “Holy War” did not dissapoint as Lexington Catholic eked out a 56-53 victory over the visiting Lexington Christian Academy team. Lexington Catholic led 33-22 early in the third quarter but LCA rallied to make it close at the end. There were eight lead changes and four ties in this game. Lexington Catholic shot 38.6% from the field including six of 20 from the three point line. The Knights connected on six of 11 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 13 LCA turnovers. LCA shot 44.7% from the field including nine of 18 from beyond the arc. The Eagles connected on 10 of 14 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 14 points off nine Lexington Catholic turnovers.

John Reinhart led a balanced Lexington Catholic scoring attack with 12 points including three three point baskets. Tyler Doyle added 11 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Miller Williams recorded 10 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two blocked shots. Sam Smith chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Rowan Williams added nine points, nine rebounds, and three steals.

Saxton Howard led lexington Christian Academy with 15 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and two assists. Hagan Preston added 14 points including five of six free throws, four assists, and three blocked shots. Andersen Green recorded six points on two three point baskets, three rebounds, and four assists. Sam Spillman chipped in with six points on two three point baskets. Simon King pulled down six rebounds.

Sayre coach Robert Goodson countered with 6-4 Jr. Chase Parker, 6-1 Jr. Brock Coffman, 6-6 Sr. Ian Reesor, 5-8 Sr. Noah Gallagher, and 5-11 Jr. Luke Pennington.

Henry Clay improved their record to 14-0 with a 64-60 victory over Sayre but the victory did not come easy. Sayre led 44-41 after three quarters and there were eight lead changes and 10 ties in this very competitive battle. Henry Clay shot 48.9% from the field including 10 of 23 from the three point line. The Blue Devils connected on 10 of 16 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 11 Sayre turnovers. Sayre shot 36.8% from the field including six of 20 from beyond the arc. The Spartans connected on 12 of 15 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 14 Henry Clay turnovers.

Jackson Stephan led a balanced Henry Clay scoring attack with 16 points including two three point baskets, nine rebounds, and two assists. Isaiah Stephan added 13 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, and two steals. Kayson Brown recorded 13 points including two three point baskets, five of six free throws, three rebounds, and five assists. AJ Dixon chipped in with 12 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots, and three steals. Hassan Bush added eight points.

Brock Coffman led Sayre with 18 points including three three point baskets,15 rebounds, and four assists. Noah Gallagher added 16 points including two three point basketsm four of four free throws, and seven rebounds. Ian Reesor recorded 14 points and eight rebounds. (DeMarcus Surratt is still out with illness. Aveion Chenault, Armelo Boone, and Logan Busson were held out today). Woodford County coach Jaron Brown countered with 6-2 Jr. Jaunte Jenkins, 5-11 Jr. Nolan Asher, 6-4 Sr. Layton Starks, 5-9 Fr. Omari Jointer, and 5-11 Jr. Santonio Waide.

Woodford County defeated a short-handed Frederick Douglass squad by the score of 71-61. Woodford County shot 45.1% from the field including four of 14 from the three point line. The Yellow Jackets connected on 21 of 30 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 17 Frederick Douglass turnovers. Frederick Douglass shot 43.8% from the field including eight of 18 from beyond the arc. The Broncos connected on 11 of 16 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 11 Woodford County turnovers.

Layton Starks led a balanced Woodford County scoring attack with 17 points and eight rebounds. Omari Jointer added 15 points including seven of nine free throws, and three rebounds. Santonio Waide recorded 15 points including six of seven free throws, and two steals. Jaunte Jenkins chipped in with 13 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and two assists.

DeSales defeated Cooper by the score of 61-52. The score was tied once and there were six lead changes in the game. DeSales shot 48.9% from the field including one of 10 from the three point line. The Colts connected on 16 of 21 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored eight points off 11 Cooper turnovers. Cooper shot 36% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc. Madison Southern defeated North Laurel by the score of 81-74. Madison Southern shot 54.7% from the field including six of 17 from the three point line. Franklin County defeated Westmoreland by the score of 46-37 to earn ther championship. Franklin County shot 39.5% from the field including six of 18 from the three point line. The Lady Flyers connected on 10 of 15 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and committed 14 turnovers. Westmoreland shot 31.2% from the field including five of 17 from beyond the arc. The Lady Eagles connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and committed 17 turnovers.

Rachel Shropshire led Franklin County with 13 points including two three point baskets, and three rebounds. Leia Hogan added 10 points including seven of 10 free throws, and two assists. Bishop O’Connell coach Joe Wootten countered with 6-7 Sr. Jadyn Harris, 6-6 Sr. Bryson Tucker, 6-8 Sr. Wyatt Norton, 6-5 Jr. Shane Lincoln, and 6-5 Sr. AJ Swinton.

Bishop O’Connell defeated Great Crossing 77-74 in double overtime in a game destined to be remembered as a classic. Ther eree 10 ties and lead changes in this game that were highlighted by a 13-2 long by Bishop O’Connell and an 18-2 run by Great Crossing. Great Crossing trailed 28-14 in the second period and 34-25 at halftime. Bishop O’Connell shot 44.8% from the field including eight of 19 from the three point line. The Knights connected on nine of 13 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 18 Great Crossing turnovers. Great Crossing shot 50% from the field including eight of 14 from beyond the arc. The Warhawks connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored four points off eight Bishop O’Connell turnovers.

Bryson Tucker led Bishop O’Connell with 27 points including five three point baskets, four rebounds, and two steals. Wyatt Norton added 21 points including two three point baskets, and 11 rebounds. AJ Swinton recorded 10 points, two rebounds, three assists, and two steals. The score was tied 44-44 at halftime but Lyon County dominated in the second half to pull away for a 83-63 victory over Lexington Catholic making a strong argument for the the number one team in the state at this time and further solidifying Travis Perry as the favorite for Mr. Baskertball this season. Both teams shoot a sizzling 64% from the field in the first half and Lyon County upped the ante in the second half by shooting 73.7% from the field after the intermission. Lyon County shot 68.2% from the field including nine of 16 from the three point line. The Lyons connected on 14 of 26 free throws, pulled own 31 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 11 Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lexington Catholic shot 47.9% from the field including 12 of 29 from beyond the arc. The Knights connected on five of 12 free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 11 Lyon County turnovers.

Travis Perry led Lyon County with 33 points including seven three point baskets, four of five free throws, five rebounds, and five assists. Jack Reddick added 15 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists. Brady Shoulders recorded 13 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Braydon Kirk chipped in with 12 points on six of six from the field, five rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Lukas Breedlove added eight points including four of five free throws.

John Reinhart led lexington Catholic with 22 points including seven three point baskets, four assists, and two steals. Tyler Doyle added 20 points. 6-3 Jr. Ryan Harward recorded nine points on three three point baskets. Rowan Williams chipped in with four points, six rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
