Lafayette defeated Henry Clay by the score of 20-10. Lafayette recorded 19 first downs and 326 yards of total offense. The Generals were penalized eight times for 61 yards and lost a fumble. Henry Clay recorded 12 first downs and 181 yards of total offense. The Blue Devils were penalized nine times for 80 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.
JJ Richardson led Lafayette’s ground game with 49 yards on 17 carries. Ransom Payton carried the ball four times for 10 yards. Ransom Payton completed 24 of 40 passes for 266 yards and three touchdowns. Triston Taylor caught eight passes for 55 yards. Christian Giannone added four receptions for 40 yards. Jackson Grantz recorded three receptions for 31 yards. Colton Coleman chipped in with two catches for 41 yards. Cole Locklar caught two passes for 37 yards and a touchdown. Jackson Stephens caught two passes for 34 yards. JJ Richardson recorded two receptions for 25 yards and two touchdowns. Triston Taylor returned two kickoffs for 46 yards with a long return of 30 yards. Landon Baker led the defense with six solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a five yard loss. Jackson Grantz added five solo and two assisted tackles and intercepted a pass. Matthew Hardin recorded five solo and two assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 10 yards and intercepted a pass. Jackson Stephens chipped in with four solo tackles. Mekhi Taylor recovered a fumble.
Keontae Edwards led Henry Clay’s ground game with 92 yards on nine carries. Zac Hoellein added 29 yards on 10 carries. Antoine Webb recorded 19 yards on three carries. Rohan Taylor completed five of 17 passes for 37 yards with one interception. Keontae Edwards caught three passes for 26 yards. Luke DiNardo added two receptions for 18 yards. Keontae Edwards returned two kickoffs for 29 yards with a long return of 16 yards. Isaiah McQueen returned one kickoff for 20 yards. Luke DiNardo led the defense with nine solo and two assisted tackles. Zac Hoellein added nine solo and one assisted tackles. Keontae Edwards recorded two solo tackles and scored on a 100 yard fumble recovery return.
