September 27th ,1999 It has been confirmed: Scream 3 has been pushed back to February! Liev Shrieber is in Scream 3! This was all reported at Wescraven.com!
News here: last night ended the 3rd to last day of shooting, ending Liev Schreiber's days on the pic. We've already finished Neve Campbell, David Arquette, and most of the others. Courteney Cox and Parker Posey work Tuesday to end their work, and we have one last day, Wednesday, with Kelly from Melrose Place. Then that's it!
Also, the release date has officially been pushed back to Feb 7, 2000, due to the crowded slate of December - when it seems everybody and his brother is releasing a big film.
July 28,1999
Wes Craven has revealed the plot of Scream 3. He said
We ve started shooting July 6 and will continue through mid-September. The cast includes Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, David Arquette, Parker Posey, Scott Foley, Matt Keeslar, plus a few surprisesAs many of you already know, the story revolves around the making of STAB 3: RETURN TO WOODSBORO. As for the rest of the plot, well, the movie will be in theatres December 10, 1999...
July 14,1999
Scream 3 is currently filming in Hollwood. The only confirmed cast members so far are Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Scott Foley (Felicity), and Matt Keeslar(The Last Days of Disco). Cast members who are extremely likely, but not confirmed are Eliza Dushku (Buffy), Kate Hudson (Goldie Hawn's daughter), and Ethan Erikson (Buffy, Jawbreaker). Kate Winslet is rumored to be in the running for the Opening Scene.
Alyson Hannigan (Buffy, American Pie) is rumored to be in Scream 3 but no official word has been announced.
Even as filming gears up on the third and final Scream film, Centropolis Eon Magazine website briefly spoke to Ehren Kruger, the man who was tapped to write the script based on Kevin Williamson s outline. Regarding his work on the script, Kruger revealed, "Miramax asked me to do some work on Scream 3. Kevin Williamson had turned in an outline for it, but felt he was too over taxed to go forward. They showed it to me and told me to take what I liked from it and discard what I didn't and fashion a screenplay. So I have been working on that for the last few weeks."
Sony Playstation has officially signed a contract with Dimension Films. This allows them all rights to create video games for Dimension Films movies. While it is not confirmed who exactly will produce the games, it seems that the films with the best chance of becoming a video game are Rambo, Thumbellina, and the Scream series.
Most likely, the first "Scream" video game would come out at the same time as "Scream 3".
Rumors:
It is rumored that while a "Scream" video game wasn't oficially happening back in May, the good people at Dimension start tossing around ideas for the game. One of the game ideas was that the player acts as the killer, and stalks Sidney Prescott. Obviously, they could never release such a game in this "Blame Movies/Music/TV/Video Games" world. The idea was scrapped because of all the recent media coverage on the Columbine massacre.
The new rumored format for the game is just the opposite. The player would control the victim, and try to escape while the killer lurks in the house.
July 8,1999
Even as filming gears up on the third and final Scream film, Centropolis E-online Magazine website briefly spoke to Ehren Kruger, the man who was tapped to write the script based on Kevin Williamson s outline.
Also, Universal Studio's HorrorOnline reports that "Buffy's" Eliza Dushku, Ethan Erickson and Kate Hudson have all signed on! Let's hope that is true!
Felicity star Scott Foley and Matt Keeslar have officially signed onto Scream 3 according to UltimateTV.com Scott will play a hip young music video director.
Claimjumper, AICN's spy on the Scream 3 project dropped in to say that Neve and Courteney were in the production office getting ready for the first shoot. Also, the script is written on the anti-copy paper with the killer's lines only marked as "KILLER" rather than a character name in the part of the script were the killer is revealed.
Neve Campbell was on Entertainment Tonight and she said she would be filming Scream 3 and Party of Five at the same time. Also, they showed a new logo for Scream 3 at the end of the segment. They said filming begins the 7th. To the left is my attempt of showing what the logo looks like. It is not perfect, or exactly how it is, but the best I could do.
June 16,1999
The script is finished, but there are still some problems. Courteney Cox and Neve Campbell both have TV shows that they must attend to at the end of July. Both of the actresses have a "Play or Pay" contract, giving them millions if "Scream 3" runs into their TV schedules.
The new co-writer of "Scream 3" is Ehren Kruger. Kruger is a relative new comer to Hollywood. He has written "Arlington Road", a movie that is praised as "intense" "very original" and "creepy". He has also written the Ben Affleck movie, "Reindeer Games". The director of "Reindeer Games" said the script was the best he has ever seen. It seems that Miramax may have found their new "Wonder Boy" now that Williamson has proven unreliable.
The truth is, "Scream 3" is not the chaotic mess that it appears to be. Everything seems to be going ok at this time. Williamson will most likely polish of Kruger's script before the July 7th start date.
The script is said to more "adult" than the previous films. It has is more intense rather than gory. The comedy is also more obvious in the third movie. Miramax says that the script's content is exactly how they always envisioned it.
The budget of "Scream 3" has been set at 20 million, while the marketing of the film will be an amazing 45 million. Miramax has a lot riding on "Scream 3" being a hit.
June 14,1999
Less than a month before "Scream 3" was set to begin shooting, a behind-the-scenes drama played out between Miramax's genre label Dimension Films and screenwriter Kevin Williamson over the third chapter in the lucrative horror franchise. Although Williamson turned in a 30-page outline for the sequel, he has been so consumed by other Miramax projects -- including postproduction on his feature directing debut, "Teaching Mrs. Tingle," due in August, and his upcoming television series "Wasteland" -- that he found it hard to squeeze in time for "Scream 3."
Dimension then recruited Ehren Kruger, who wrote "Arlington Road" and Miramax's upcoming "Reindeer Games," to draft a shooting script. Sources said that Williamson hasn't even read Kruger's script and is resisting further "Scream" work, citing his very full plate. The film, which stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette, is targeted for release in December.
June 10,1999
It has been confirmed that Miramax will be toning down the Violence in Scream 3, this is due to the shootings at Columbine, what does this mean for the Trilogy, will it be worth watching?? Or will it be better, only time will tell!! Also, The movie Killing Mrs. Tingle recieved a title change and now will be called Teaching Mrs. Tingle, this has all been confirmed...

April 19,1999
The plot was also revealed. Sidney Prescott moves to Hollywood and lands a job in a movie. The same studio that is making that movie is also filming "Stab 2". Sidney must deal with "Stab 2" and even more murders that happen involving Hollywood stars. To solve the murders, glimpses of Woodsborro and Windsor are shown. We will get to see what happened preScream.
Cast members from "Scream" and "Scream 2" will make cameos in the third installment.
Wes Craven is rumored to have said that a script very close the original "Scream 3" script was on the Internet. And he is also rumored to have said that security on this movie will be Extreme.
April 6,1999
On Regis & Kathie Lee this morning, David Arquette appeared to promote his role in Never Been Kissed. He confirmed that he will be joining Courteney and Neve this summer for the filming of "Scream 3!!!"
March 30,1999
March 21,1999 Neve Campbell was playing hard to get when it came to her signing on for "Scream 3", the last installment of the "Scream" series. She was worried of being known as a "Scream Queen". Time magazine reported that the actress may not jump onboard Scream 3. The reason? It seems the Party of Five star was eyeing Rounders, a Miramax film to be directed by The Last Seduction's John Dahl. But the studio, which is also behind the Scream franchise, reportedly told Campbell that she could star in the flick, which had been scheduled to go into production before the holidays, only if she committed to star in Scream 3. They even offered her $3 million to give her pipes a workout, which is double her previous salary. But Campbell took offense to the strings attached to the offer and refused. The role was then offered to Boogie Nights star Heather Graham, who had to turn it down because of previous commitments. That left Miramax, headed by Bob and Harvey Weinstein, with two problems: it still hadn't found an actress for Rounders, and Scream director Wes Craven said he wouldn't return to helm part three without Campbell.
Then more revelations were revealed. Craven said he would direct even with out Campbell, but she said she would want to see the script of "Scream 3" before making her choice. Wes Craven then signed a lucrative deal committing to "Scream 3". Then on March 1st, news broke out that Campbell (along with Cox and Arquette) would return to the series. But we still have questions. How much is Neve being paid? Has she read the script? And who else will be in the movie? Only time will tell.
March 1,1999
Miramax has already signed lucrative overall deals with both Williamson and Craven, which cover their commitments to ``Scream 3.'' Dimension is now attempting to ``spoof the spoofs'' with pictures such as ``Scream If You Know What I Did Last Halloween,'' from director Keenen Ivory Wayans. Reuters/Variety

The Internet Movie Database has reported that the US release date for the movie is now
November 5th 1999 instead of December 1999.
Wes recently said:
"We also don't know if Neve is going to be a part of the movie or not. We think (or hope) that
she will be part of Scream 3. I've spoken to her once or twice about it, and she expressed a sort
of wait-and-see attitude. She wants the script to be 'just right' (very, very good). She does have
fears about becoming another 'Scream Queen', which she feels would endanger her being taken
seriously as an actress eligible for other kinds of movies. We'll have to wait and see."
NOTE: If Neve's so afraid of being typecasted with Scream and stuff, and since Kevin Williamson
wants to base Scream 3 more on Gale, wouldn't it be GREAT to have the opening scene with
Neve being finally killed??
Great Stab 2 news:
Tori Spelling will not play Sidney in Stab 2 because of some emergency plastic surgery.
Denise Richards will play Sidney's part, instead, and the part of Dewey in Stab 2 will be played
by upcoming star Glen Quinn. And Gale's part would be played by Teri Hatcher.
It's been reported on various movie Web sites that Williamson's script for Scream 3 should
be ready sometimes early next year, in time for filming to take place in April '99. Whether Neve
Campbell returns to the role of Sydney or not remains to be seen; however, Williamson says
that he's planned for a contingency that doesn't require Sydney to be in the new story. It's
rumored that the storyline would follow the actress who'd play Sidney in a 'Stab' sequel to the
events depicted in Scream 2... which would complicate things even further...
In and interview Kevin Williamson said that the third Scream will deal more with Courteney
Cox, he feels he should focus on a new character (especially now that Neve Campbell might
not be in it).
Jamie Kennedy might have a cameo like Matthew Lillard did in Scream 2.
The writer of the Trilogy, Kevin Williamson took part in an interview from the Halloween:
The Official Web Site about Halloween 7 and also commented on Scream 3. "I just agreed this
week to start writing it. We just struck my deal, so I guess the other deals are starting to follow.
I'll be done in April, I'm guessing. We're planning on a December (1999) release." When asked
about Neve Campbell's return he said; "Well, I guess she needs to wait to see if she has a
character. If she doesn't want to be in it, then we'll write it without her. The good thing about
Scream 3 is I've got three plans. There's the Sid version, the Sid-less version, and....the bottom
line is the story itself doesn't rely so much on her character.". And the third version? "(Smiling)
I can't say. It's not so much about Sidney anymore. It's about the world that was created with
"Stab." The story itself thematically works, regardless of who is in it."
The Dark Horizons site reported that Neve Campbell told the Calgary Sun newspaper that
she doesn't want to become typecast as a horror actress. That's the first published article that
confirms the rumors of Campbell being wary of starring in a third Scream.
Rumor say that Charisma Carpenter (who plays Cordelia on Buffy the Vampire Slayer) may
be cast as one of the new supporting characters, a bitchy horror movie actress that gets caught
up in all the new murder mayhem.
Dimension Films, a division of Miramax, has patented the rights to use the names, Scream 4,
5, and 6. But if the franchise continues after the third Scream, expect all new writer, director,
cast, and story.
Courteney Cox and David Arquette have already signed to do Scream 3.
Check out this teaser poster of Scream 3 that Dimension released. Now it's official that the
movie'll be released in 1999.
The final tag line for Scream 3 will be "Someone has taken their love of trilogies one step
too far."
Another rumor floating around is that Courtney Cox's character Gale Weathers and Deputy
Dewey are supposed to be getting married which might just bring an interesting TWIST to the
plot of the story. It has also been reported that Dewey WILL NOT be in a wheelchair.
Miramax wants Scream 3 to come out around Christmas of '99.
This is being done for two reasons (guess which one is the secretive one). Supposedly, the
scooper was told Miramax wants to continue the holiday horror theme and keep releasing
Scream films during the holiday season. Unofficially, the studio wants to give room to Neve
Campbell to pursue another film she wants to star in; this way, they want to keep their leading
lady happy so she won't feel like she's being typecast in the Scream films. If everyone keeps
smiling, Neve could be screaming again comenext summer.
Alicia Silverstone has been asked to play the role of a stuck up movie actress who works
with the character of Sydney in Hollywood (Stab 2) in Scream 3.
After Alicia's character is killed, Sydney steps in to play her role. (Not very sure about this
one, because why would Sidney play any of her friends beign killed?)
The third Scream installment will poke fun on the making of horror films like Scream poked
fun at horror movies and Scream 2 poked fun at sequels.
The Craft costar Rachel True is set to be Sid's best friend in Scream 3.
David Arquette reportedly DOES NOT want to come back for Scream 3, but you can get
anyone to do anything if you offer them enough $$money$$!
Neve doesn't want to come back either, but I think she signed on so she could have a role
in Rounders. Neve wanted a role in Rounders (with Matt Damon). Miramax said yes, but only
if she'd sign on for Scream 3. Neve got pissed at the connection and dropped from both films.
The actress that was going to be cast in Neve's role in Rounders balked due to commitments
to another film. Neve is in a plum spot to get one or both roles now for pretty good paychecks!
Jennifer Connely may appear in a small role in the film.
Wes Craven may make a cameo as the director of the film Sid's in.
Kevin Williamson had told people at Miramax that he would give them the finished script to
Scream 3 around June. Let's just hope that someone involved in the movie posts the script
into the internet.
Casting is slated to start at the end of April, and some cast members from Dawson's
Creek may appear in the film, but not more than one. Maybe Joshua Jackson, since he
-if you remember- made a little cameo in Scream 2 in the sequels chat.
A possible tag line for the Stab 2 film-within-a-film: 'It's gonna hurt even more...'
Huge rumor, it seems that the opening scene would be something like this; Some girls
are watching a horror movie 'till the electricity of the house goes off, so one of them (rumored
Claire Danes) goes like to the garage to check everything and as soon as the lights come
back, she turns and, surprise! Ghostface stabs her and she falls. That's exactly when we
hear a "Cut!" and we see that the place is a movie set, so everyone's going from here to there
and shit, but the stabbed actress doesn't stand up, she's really dead!.
(Submitted by Ben and Brennan)
Sidney's first role will be in a bad horror film directed by Wes Craven.
This was confirmed by Wes Craven on a radio show.
Gale Weathers and Joel will be down on her luck as Cotton Weary enjoys his fame as
the new author of "The Ghostface Murders".
In an issue of Details, Courteney Cox is interviewed and in the article, Wes Craven
responds to a question if Cox will return in Scream 3. "If she survives [in Scream 2]," Craven
says, "she will [return]." And since she does survive, Cox is likely to return in the third installment.
MATTHEW LILLARD (Stu) will NOT be making an appearance in Scream 3 as Stu's never-before-mentioned twin brother out for revenge -- this was confirmed by Wes Craven.
According to Kevin Williamson, Scream was always seen as a series of three films.
The screenwriter says, "I always envisioned it as the Star Wars trilogy of horror."
There is some concern that Scream might go the way of all other extended horror franchises
and overplay their cinematic hand (for instance - oh hell, pick any of them), but if Wes keeps
the same creative staff and crew on hand as he has with Scream 2, then all might still be well. In 1995, Bob
Weinstein, co-chairman of Miramax, bought Kevin Williamson's original Scream
script along with a five-page outline for Scream 2 and a Scream
3. Williamson was so sure there would be an encore that he made it
part of his initial deal for the original. "The sequel was planned
before we sold the first one," he says. "Along with the script
for Scream, I submitted a five-page treatment for Scream 2
and Scream 3. I was not being ballsy or overly confident. I was
just suggesting that, if they bought this script, they would have a possible
franchise on their hands."
Because of the huge success of Scream, it's not suprising they used Williamson's idea to create a sequel. Even before Scream 2 was released, Dimension Films was already in planning stages for a Scream 3. Wes Craven has expressed interest and is officialy signed on to the project. "It's certainly a fascinating thing to think of, as a filmmaker, to do a trilogy," says Craven. "There are very few filmmakers that have actually done it. To do it well would be quite an accomplishment." As for Williamson, he is currently in the process of penning the script and it should be scheduled to wind up on Weinstein's desk sometime in April '98, which would mean the film would be scheduled to be released in December '98. Why the rush? "Everybody's looking for something identical to Scream," says producer Cathy Konrad. "Because we have a brand name, we need to jump in and give the people more of what they want, as long as they continue to want it." But since Craven and Williamson are involved at other projects at this time, the film may be pushed back and be released sometime in 1999.
Don't count on the Scream franchise to live forever though. "I won't be a part of Scream 4, 5, or 6," says Williamson. "I'm done. Three stories and that's the end of it." Of course, if there's many to be made, Miramax might squeeze a few more out anyway. "If we ever did get to a Scream 4," Weinstein says, "it wouldn't happen for at least three years, and there'd be all new characters and a whole new conception. Right now, though, we all see the franchise ending at three."
December 8, 1998
An intriguing quote from Kevin Williamson was found at Dark Horizons on Scream 3: (Sent from TV's Henry): "It's a departure from the last two, yes it's a horror movie, yes people will die, but there's a whole new angle, which I can't reveal because Bob Weinstein would have a fit". On other news; this page is NOT a page with pictures and sounds...It is simply a NEWS page. No pics, no sounds, just NEWS (But you will be able to find the trailer here when it comes out).

Sorry for not updating in a while but I have been real busy. This page has been bringing you Scream 3 news and rumors for over a year and counting. Thanks for all your support. Heres an e-mail I received today, I don't know how true it is but I posted it anyways: "My uncle does not work for Mirimax, but my aunt does work for H.N.O.W. They are an agency, which advertises, and talks to the stars of upcoming movies. She told me that it is true that Alicia Silverstone or Kellie Martin will be taking the part of Cici in Stab 2. Neve Campbell will be back as Sidney, and so will Courtney Cox. Cotton (Liev Shrieber), might not come back. Instead, he plans to star in a new television show due out next fall. Wes Craven will definately be back as the director, but will not be if there is a Scream 4. Kevin Williamson has made it quite clear that there will be no Scream 4 written by him."
October 5, 1998
When Kevin Williamson was asked in an interview: "What about Scream 3?", He said: 'I just agreed this week to start writing it. I don't have to deliver it until April, so we just struck my deal. I guess Wes will direct it. I know he wants to. So, me, being the writer, I get the first deal. His deal, I'm sure, will fall into place. And then they'll go after the cast. We're planning on a May-June shoot, a December release.'
August 25, 1998
Sci-Fi Entertainment conducted an interview with Kevin Williamson who confirmed that he's working on the script for Scream 3 now and said "The first two movies were about Neve(Sidney), I think that I should write about a different person for the last one, like Courteney Cox (Gale)".
August 23, 1998
Let me just clear something up, the Ghost Mask in Scream 3 will not be red! Just because the image on my page is red, doesn't mean the mask will be red, thats just the way the image was made.

Craven gets cut? A hot rumour springing up latley is that Director Wes Craven will make a small cameo in Scream 3, and of course get a very brutal treatment by 'Father Death' very quickly. Also during a recent interview, Jamie Kennedy apparently slipped in a remark indicating he will be making a cameo in Scream 3, ala Matthew Lillard of Scream 2, though in what capacity is unknown (Randy died in S2 after all). Another rumor going around from a supposed Mirimax employee is that a different Father Death costume will be used in Stab 2, the movie within the movie in Scream 3. To see a picture of the comparison, Click Here, the one on the left is the Stab 2 one, and the one on the right is the one we all know and love and is the one they will be using in Scream 3. I did a little web surfing on Scream 3 and found some confirmation on the Neve casting as Sidney debate. Neve, in her own words, states she will most likley not be in Scream 3. To read the interview Click Here! BTW, Sidney is spelled with an I, not with a Y. Just thought I might let you less educated Scream fans know.

News Update From Dark Horizons: Scream 3: Screenwriter Kevin Williamson was interviewed by the folks at halloweenmovies.com, and he revealed some details about the third and believed last film in the series. Firstly he's aiming to have the script complete next April for the film's intended release in December 1999. Asked if Neve Campbell were going to return, he replied "Well, I guess she needs to wait to see if she has a character. If she doesn't want to be in it, then we'll write it without her. The good thing about SCREAM 3 is I've got three plans. There's the Sid version, the Sid-less version, and....the bottom line is the story itself doesn't rely so much on her character". The 'third version' he brings up again, saying "It's not so much about Sidney anymore. It's about the world that was created with "Stab." The story itself thematically works, regardless of who is in it" Stay tuned to Screamstalker's Scream 3 Information Station for more updates soon!

Today I added some new images, cool ones at that. The one on the right is a Newspaper clipping. I also just got some new news concerning Neve Campbell from another source. Neve was on an Australian TV show of some kind, and she stated that she would not be in Scream 3. Some of us suspected, but weren't sure. Now its confirmed. She could be just throwing us off, but only time will tell.

I originally had this page closed up till today, but now it is re-open and back in buisness. Sorry about the images, but I will be getting them back up soon along with some new ones, so be patient. It feels good to be back on the web again without getting harassing e-mails from people telling me I was "Too Mean" when I shut down my page, but now they can't say that. Ok, now, read on for the good stuff!
