AS Primer 2--A Q & A for Season 7
Q: So how are things?
Stuslide: To use a title from a Duncan Sheik song, I'm on a high. I've been busy with submitting short stories and my novel. I just watched that great movie 500 DAYS OF SUMMER, so my outlook on life has changed a bit. I'm still motivated for my move now that my family drama has subsided.
Q: And it's been a while since there's been a primer?
S: Yeah...Season 4?
Q: That would be it.
S: And look at what's happened since. lol.
Q: Kromaggs. Returns. Deaths. And now we are at Season 7...
S; Yeah...seven seasons. I never thought I would last this long.
Q: Speaking of long, it's been roughly a year since Season 6. Why was that?
S: Well, as I've mentioned here and there, I've been planning a move to LA that kept getting pushed back. I didn't want to start a season and then BAM! I'm moving. And with no idea when I would start up gain, it would be a disservice. Then other things was going down in my family life so I had my version of the writer strike, having to cut down on episodes and subplots in Season 6.
Q: Speaking of subplots, the last few episodes did throw a curveball in terms of Randy. Will we be seeing more of that?
S: Yeah...there's still a way to go...for everyone. With Randy...there's been several worlds where he is with Ethan. Just like with worlds where he winds up with Melissa, I thought it would be worth exploring.
Q: So where does that leave Melissa? At the end of Season Six it appeared she and Richard were over.
S: Maybe they are. Maybe they aren't. In any case, I do want to see Melissa being less whiny brat, more girl next door that she used to be.
Q: And Quinn? Will his cliffhanger be resolved in the first episode?
S: No comment on that. However, there will still be some drama with the dark sliders. And some of their subplot that was dropped will rise back up, endangering everyone else.
Q: Last season was about the...as you called it...'the post-sliding world.' How would you describe this season?
S: War-torn.
Q: ?
S: Part of my mind has been on the fence for a while. Most shows...if they aren't cancelled...usually end after seven years. I also started to think it was time.
Q: So is this the last season?
S: No comment.
Q: Alrighty. About this season...
S: lol. It has to do with...after more or less seven years..what if the sliders lost hope of going home. Quinn missing or dead. They have not stayed on the good worlds. They always get chased. When is enough enough? What if it all just snowballed? Would they crack? Even kill? And the answers to these questions (as well as Quinn's whereabouts) will lead to the next step...if there's an eighth season...which I call the future of sliding.
Q: And you also have the 100th episode this season...
S: Yeah. 100 stories...Wow. Who woulda thought? It's gonna be around midseason so I can't wait.
Q: No hints.
S: Nope.
Q: One last thing: Rembrandt and Richard? Any dirt?
S: I have a few ideas for rem...who will be coming into conflict with Randy over Quinn's disappearance. As for Richard, I really started his arc last season, but it will continue to its logical conclusion.
Q: Sounds like a lot of plans?
S: Or a lot of twists. Hope everyone tunes in.
