PROLOGUE-Three months ago

All Sarah Weisschester-Carroll could think was something had gone wrong. Some malfunction on Quinn's and Randy's part. Now they all were paying for it.
The vortex opened and she fell to the ground. Her clothes were caked in mud from the last world. Her red hair was a mess.
"Sarah!"
She looked up to see a woman dressed in black leather run to her. She helped her up.
"I knew I should have went with you guys," the woman said. "Where's Randy and the others?"
"Dammit, Eve!" Sarah yelled. "Now's not the time to think of flirting with Heim!"
The vortex shimmered and a figure fell from it. Sarah looked to see if it was her beloved Robert. It wasn't. Sarah grabbed the blond-haired man and stared at him.
"Eric!" Sarah yelled. "Where's Robert?"
"I don't know," Eric said. "There was so many...we never had to cross early before...I..."
"Robert!" Sarah yelled.
"Sarah, calm down," Eve said. "Someone might think you wanted to flirt."
"You, bitch!"
"Hey!" Eric got between Eve and Sarah. "Stop it."
The vortex shimmered again and a new figure fell from it.
"Robert?" Sarah said.
"No, its Peter Carmichael," the figure said. "Remind me never to play the lottery again."
Another shimmer and a figure fell from the vortex again. Sarah looked at the bearded man and lunged at him.
"You bastard!" Sarah yelled. "Where's my husband?"
Randall Heim pushed Sarah away. "Mallory and Carroll were right behind me." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a device that looked like a calculator. "According to the statuscope, they're in the vortex--"
Sparks started to fly from the statuscope. Randall dropped it quickly. meanwhile, Eric pulled out a circular device. it bursted into flames.
"God!" Eric screamed. "The gizmo's dead."
The vortex started to shift in color from red to yellow. Randall grabbed Sarah and ran away from the vortex.
"Everyone, get back!" Randall ordered.
Eric grabbed Eve and ran from it. Peter was right behind him. Sarah looked over her shoulder. The vortex was like a scream. It exploded.
"Robert!" Sarah yelled.
"Oh my God," Eric muttered.
"Randall, what happened?" Eve demanded. "Where are Robert and Quinn?"
Sarah heard all of this, but her mind was on Robert. Her husband was...
She felt blackness come as her legs became weak.

THREE MONTHS LATER...

"Sarah, dear," Eric said, "but it's time for the crossing."
"She doesn't hear you," Eve said next to Eric on the balcony. "She's too into her latest kill."
"Gee, Eve," Sarah said as she got up from the table, "for a second there, it sounds like you care about your husband Edward and not Randy at all."
Eve grinned at Sarah. "At least my husband is still breathing."
"You bitch!"
"We cross NOW!" Eric cut in.
Eric pulled out his circular device and turned on the vortex. It formed a red circle on the balcony.
"Truly the Price Corporation will make a profit on Earth 55," Eric commented. He jumped into the vortex. It simmered.
"I dislike your agenda," Eve said to Sarah. "It was an accident. Get over it."
"I suggest you just keep out of my way, Eve," Sarah said. "Now...cross!"
Eve jumped into the vortex. It simmered again.
Sarah headed for the vortex, but paused. She turned around and looked at the figure whom face was currently in his soup.
"Can't leave you like that now, can I?"
Sarah grabbed him by the head and pushed him to the floor.
"'Good night, sweet prince. May flights of devils send thee to thy rest.'" Sarah said to the dead figure of the Randall Heim of this world.
Sarah jumped into the vortex and it closed behind her.
The dead figure's eyes stayed open until he was found by the maid the next morning.

SLIDERS: ALTERNATE SPIN
EPISODE 11-VENDETTA
(first part)

"A rose for the beautiful lady."
Melissa let the clown put the rose in her black hair. She turned to Professor Brown and grinned.
"How do I look, Brown?" Melissa asked.
"Simply beautiful, mademoiselle," Brown said. "This Earth is truly heaven."
"I can't believe we been here for two weeks already," Melissa said. "I don't want to leave."
"Well, I can comprehend why," Brown said as they continued their walk through the park. "You and Mr. Heim have gotten quite..."
"We're been having fun like we usually do," Melissa said. "I don't know where we're going."
Two robins flew by Melissa and Professor Brown. She grinned at their pairing.
"We just want to enjoy the moment," Melissa said.

Richard had told Melissa and Proper that he wanted to hang by himself. Instead, he was doing something freaky. He was following the Egghead.
Randy was sitting at a cafe drinking cappuccino and writing in a journal.
Richard glared at the Egghead. He wasn't blind. He had seen how Egghead and Melissa had been sneaking out together over the last couple of weeks. He knew it was a matter of time before they hooked up. He knew Melissa wanted excitement in her life, and he wanted her.
Egghead would have to move over. Richard was about to go on the prowl.

The vortex simmered as it formed in the alley. One by one, several figures emerged from it. The vortex closed behind them.
Eve stood up from the ground and pulled out the statuscope. "Randall, the crossing was successful. Peter, Sarah, and I are here."
"Good," Randall's voice came out of the statuscope. "Explore and Eric and I will cross tomorrow."
"I can't wait," Eve said.
"I bet you can't," Sarah replied as she stood up from the ground.
"Now, ladies, we're here to explore...not fight," Peter said as he dusted himself off. He looked at the black leather suit he wore. "These costumes are better than the last ones we had. People will think we're in a gang."
Eve grinned. "That's the idea. Think you can pull it off?"
Peter grabbed Eve and pulled her toward him. "I know I can."
"Come on, sex-kittens," Sarah pulled Eve and Peter apart. "What does the statuscope say, Eve? Any weird readings?"
Eve looked at the statuscope. Her eyes looked wide. She turned and looked at Sarah.
"We're not the only crossers here," Eve replied. "There are four others."

"There you are!" Melissa cried as she saw Randy. She ran up to him and hugged him.
"What was that for?" Randy asked.
"Just being here," Melissa answered.
"Yes, Melissa was a little impatient to see you so we started to explore," Brown said. "I cannot believe this Quinn Mallory. We continue to see his brilliance in every world we encounter him on. On our Earth, we have not even done anti-gravity, but he has perfect it into a floating platform of San Francisco."
"Oh, come on!" Melissa said. "Most of the world is like this."
"Sounds great," Randy commented.
"We're getting ready to take the shuttle back to the Dominion," Melissa commented. "I don't suppose you seen Richard."
"Don't worry! I'm right here!" Richard grinned. "What did I miss?"

"There they are!" Eve pointed at the cafe.
"Well, well, well," Sarah said as she spied Randy among the other sliders. "I guess I won't have to find him after all."
"No, Sarah," Eve said. "You can't--"
"We're crossers, Eve," Sarah said. "We do what we please. We are the richest and brightest of our world. What we want, we take."
"You and your agenda is going to get us killed."
Sarah stared at Eve. "Is that a conscience I hear, or are you just sad that there's another Heim you haven't bed yet."
Eve grinned at Sarah. "Wouldn't you like to know?"
Peter's mind was not on the conversation. It was on the statuscope. It had cross referenced the signatures of these new crossers and pinpointed their origin. Peter and the others had been to their world months ago. It was the world where...
Peter looked at Richard Hall. It was THE Richard Hall. His eyes narrowed at him and his mind focused on vengeance.
Richard Hall would DIE.

The waitress brought over drinks to Melissa and Richard.
"So Egghead and Proper are going to attempt something with the timer?" Richard asked.
"Yeah," Melissa said. "I wish he would hurry up."
"Why? You two have a date?"
Melissa looked at Richard. "As a matter of fact...we are going out to dinner."
Richard frowned. "What happened to Egghead's roommate? I thought you two were a hot and heavy thing."
"I'm sick of it," Melissa said. "It was just one date...that YOU interrupted."
Richard grinned. "I try."
Melissa glared at him. "Anyway, it seems like most worlds has me and Ben together. I'm my own person and I don't like the idea that my fate has been made up already."
"So you don't like Egghead?"
"Of course, I do."
"Oh, I get it!" Richard said. "You're playing it safe."
"What?" Melissa said angrily.
"That's why," Richard said as he found what he was looking for. "He's just a safety blanket. That's a shame. What happened to the Melissa who wanted to have fun?"
"She grew up," Melissa replied.
Richard corked an eyebrow. "You know what I think? I think you still want a dangerous guy. A guy who's unpredictable. A guy who's fun."
"Randy's fun," Melissa said.
Richard leaned in closer. "So am I." He put his hands on the sides of her face. "You know I can be GREAT fun."
He started to pull Melissa into a kiss. Melissa didn't struggle.
"Hi!"
Richard turned to see who said hello. The spell broken, Melissa pulled away quickly. They looked at the couple in front of them dressed in leather. The woman with short black hair smiled at them.
"Me and my boyfriend are having a disagreement and thought you could help. Right, Peter?"
Peter grinned at Richard. "Right, Eve."

"I think when the timer fried," Randy said to Professor Brown as they came out of the Dominion's elevator, "we lost our last chance to find our coordinates."
"Leaving us randomly sliding," Brown said.
"With no way home," Randy said. "Maybe..."
Randy bumped into someone. Papers went flying everywhere. Randy looked at the woman struggling to gather her papers together. She wore glasses and her red hair was tied into a bun. She wore a plain shirt with Dockers.
"Let me help you with that," Randy said.
"You don't have to--" the woman protested, but Randy was already on his knees.
Randy stared at one of the papers and stopped. "What do you know about the Einstein-Rosen-Podolsky Bridge?"
"Quite a lot," the woman said. "Me and my associates have made it...a life study."
"Really?" Professor Brown said. "So have we."
The woman grinned. "In that case, I would like to learn more about you two."
"My name is Randy," Randy said.
"I am Professor Darnell Brown," Brown said as he extended his hand.
The woman continued to smile as she shook Brown's hands. She stared at Randy with interest.
"My name is Sarah," she said. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

"It's a strike!"
Melissa heard Richard cheer, but it was not of real interest to her. What was was that redhead who she left Randy with. he said that she was a scientist who might have some secrets about sliding that might get them home.
"Come on!" Richard had said. "Proper's going to be with him. Don't worry."
That was why she had agreed to go bowling with Richard and their new friends. Peter and Eve were actually friends of Sarah. It just did not look right since Sarah did not look like she fit with them. She didn't trust Sarah.
"Having fun?"
Melissa looked at Eve. She faked a smile.
"It's...great," Melissa replied. "I just wish..."
"You were with Randy, right?" Eve said. She sighed. "Yeah, he is a dreamboat, isn't he?"
Melissa frowned. "You act like you know him."
Eve smiled. "Well...he reminds me of someone I knew once. besides....your boyfriend is more of my speed."
"He's not my boyfriend!"
"Why did you snap then? You can't have them both you know."
Melissa looked at Eve with anger. "I'm not having anyone. Randy and Richard are just friends."
Eve laughed. "Keep telling yourself that."
"Melissa! Your turn!" Richard said.
Melissa ignored Eve and grabbed a bowling ball. It was unanimous. She did not trust Sarah...or her friends.

"So...you and Melissa dating?" Peter asked.
"Not yet," Richard said, "but I'm working on it."
"Is that Egghead guy getting in the way?" Peter asked.
"Actually...yeah," Richard admitted. "We wouldn't even be in this mess if he hadn't studied what he did."
"You should kick his ass," Peter said.
"Richard, your turn!" Melissa yelled at him.
"Yeah, I should have," Richard said. He grabbed a bowling ball. He started to focus on the pens.
"Pretend it's Randy's head," Peter suggested. "Maybe you'll beat my score then."
Richard couldn't hide his grin. It wasn't a bad idea. He could really go for punching Randy in the face. He started to swing the ball out.
"Laura!"
Richard lost his concentration. The ball went over to the edge. Richard looked at Peter in shock.
"What did you say?" Richard asked.
"I said lower," Peter said. "You were kinda off there for a second."
Richard did not know what to say. Eve walked over and place her hand on Peter's shoulder. She grinned at him.
"Dear, I think it's time for us to go," Eve said. "We have an early day tomorrow."
"Yeah," Peter agreed. He smiled at Richard. "We have to do this again sometime."
"Of...of course," Richard said weakly. Then he smiled. "Good idea."

"I know what you're doing," Eve said as they walked back to their suite.
"I don't know--" Peter started.
"Remember, dear," Eve grinned slyly at Peter, "I was holding the statuscope. I remember that world well. That's the Richard who--"
"Shut up!" Peter yelled.
"Hit a nerve, did I?" Eve smirked. "Good."
"I think you should watch yourself," Peter said as he hugged Eve from behind. "We wouldn't want your dear husband finding out his wife has affairs."
"He's one to talk," Eve answered.
Peter tighten his arms around her. "Besides we wouldn't want you to have a LITTLE accident on this world with a lover, would we?"
"Peter, are those claws you're growing?" Eve cooed.
"More like teeth," Peter whispered in Eve's ear. "You want to really see them, get in my way."
They made it to the door. Eve laughed as she walked in.
"You're going to make this a fun game," Eve said. "Good."
"Looks like Sarah is still out," Peter said. "She must still be with Heim."
"Great," Eve said shortly.
"Is that jealousy I hear?"
"I just don't like her agenda," Eve said. "I understand yours, but her killing..."
They both heard it. It was a simmer. A vortex opened in front of them. A figure jumped out of it. Eve recognized him and ran over and hugged him.
"I thought you would never get here," Eve said to Randall.
"Where's Sarah?" Randall asked.

"Come and look!" Sarah told Randy. "It's a beautiful view."
Randy looked over the roof. "Yeah...it looks...great."
"I mean up here with me," Sarah said. She looked down at Randy. She stood on the edge of the ledge. She grinned. "Come on. Where's your adventure?"
Randy smiled at that. Then he jumped on the ledge with her.
"Now...isn't it beautiful?" Sarah asked.
"Yes," randy answered.
"Good," Sarah said. Then she pushed him off the ledge. He fell screaming. She just grinned and walked away.
One Randall Heim down. Another one to go.
