What is the quality of Joy, and why should we seek to validate it? Joy is that quality of Inner Lightness of Spirit, which is a natural and essential concomitant of Upward Progress on the Spiritual Path. Indeed, Joy is an Indicator of Progress in Spiritual Evolution. Joy is not the transient state of happiness or pleasure found in mundane pursuits. Rather, Joy is an enduring, pervasive, peaceful quality. Joy is the **sidekick** of the pursuit of one’s Life Purpose. A Christian hymn refers to the quality as **Joy Unspeakable, and full of Glory.** Indeed, Spiritual Joy does defy true expression. It is incomparable, and once experienced, can never be forgotten. And it is so readily available to us all. The only requirement to achieve, and maintain, Joy, as an enduring, permanent expression, is to discover and pursue one’s personal Spiritual Path and Life Purpose; to make one’s highest priority and most essential goal, Spiritual Evolution. It is here that Joy is accessed. Once achieved, Joy will promote our pursuit of Spiritual Progress, and indicate to us when we are in line with our Life Purpose. Temporary absence of Joy points out where we might have temporarily stepped from the Path, and shows us that our pursuits are soon put right once again.
