Alright, lets clean this Kitchen...
Eventhough I am an at home mom, I do not spend my entire days
cleaning the house. It is definately not one of those things
I enjoy so much I want to do ALL the time!!
So I have come up with a few ideas to help me get through it.
The 2 rooms of the house that have to be clean at all times
is, the bathroom and the kitchen. Since this is a page
about the kitchen guess which room we're going to clean today.
You guessed it... The Kitchen!!!
Well, the kitchen, for me, has to be
clean ALL the time or I Freak! So, eventhough I
do clean it daily and I always disenfect, some
things seem to make the daily(usually 2x's) task
a bit easier and quicker.
OK...
For daily cleaning,
I dampen a clean dish rag with HOT water,
squeeze as much of the water out as I can, then
I spray my stuff (2 parts white vinegar and 1 part water)
on the rag and wipe every inch of the counter. I do not take
everything off of the counter, I simply lift, tilt, scoot or slide
it out of the way, and put it right back. I wipe everthing
off onto the floor. Then I sweep all the food, or whatevers
on the floor, to the carpet and pick it up with the
vaccuum(I do this in the bathroom too).
I use baby wipes to clean any grease or splattered food
from the walls and fridge(it sits next to the stove). Did
you know that wipies can clean just about anything? Try them they
work very well on lots of things(they do streak glass
surfaces). One quick thing about them...
they are AWESOME at cleaning bird poo!! Even off your car.
Ok, back to the kitchen,
Once, I have swept the floor, I take off shoes and/or socks
and preform the toesy test. I walk the floor and feel for
sticky, greasy or just dirty spots, I soak up anything standing
and then I get my box of wipes and wipe it clean.
I also use wipies to wipe down my cabinets. I spray the baseboards
and any open ares, like the small space between the stove and fridge
with Lysol.
Now, my kitchen looks fine, It is clean and I am NOT a freak!!
This usually only takes about 10 - 15 mins. That is, without the kiddos
hanging on me, or the phone ringing.
(SHHHHH!!! I know this is not a bathroom page or whatever, but,
for daily quick throughs I use the same basic process for the bathroom)
