Louisville Six Flags/Zoo weekend Vacation
July 29-30, 2000
Vacation for Greg, Susan, Jamie, Terry, Josh and Carson.

The travel agency worked very hard for this weekend vacation. About 3 weeks before the trip was to take place I hit the phone's
trying to find us a great hotel to stay in. First called Days Inn and they were booked up. Not good. Seeing how we like to stay
at Days Inn. So i decided to contact Ramada Inn. They said they are only 3 miles from Ky Kingdom. Wow, that is great. And to come to find out it was only one exit away from louisville zoo.  So I asked them, what is the price for the hotel, they quoted me a price of $78.00. After all was said and done, I had them down to $59 and told them to book the hotel for me. It was a great room. My cousin, Jamie and her husband, Terry and their two kids, Josh and Karson went with us, or we rode with them. We left at 7:08am Saturday morning. Around 9.00am we were getting hungry and just getting into Lexington, KY. We decided to stop and eat at Cracker Barrel. . What a great place to eat and is cheap also. I had the egg sandwich with a tenderloin biscut. Great eating for breakfast. This is an old fashion resturant where you go in and give them your name and how many is in with you to eat. They call your name when a table is available. Check it out sometime.

After we left for Ky Kingdom we arrived at the hotel at 11:00am. They told me no room was available at the time. But there was one room we could have so we took it and dropped our things off in that room and headed to Ky Kingdom.

Ky Kingdom is a great amusement park located in Louisville, KY.  They have everything you could want in an amusement park. The only bad thing about this day was it rained and rained all day. Around 5 pm the sun came out and got hot. I finally talked Terry and Josh in to riding a roller coaster with me. We got on the roadrunner, a new coaster the this year. . Seemed a little wild at first be a great coaster. There was only three of us that was going to ride the coaster and they put another young guy in the back with me. Terry told him,"You better watch out, he throws-up." The young guy was a little nervous. I had to assure him I didn't throw-up on the rides. We made it just fine on the rollercoaster. I rode a few other coasters then we decided we would leave and go back to the hotel to swim. This was great and relaxing. The hotel also had a hot tub we got in. After we swim for awhile, we were getting hungry. We decided to go to Fifth Quarter to eat. This was not a great resturant. . For one thing is was very dark in there, Just candles on the tables and that was it. Second, the prices are high. The cheapest thing they had was a chicken dinner for $11. Our bill for two was $25.00. I would suggest not going there unless you have alot of money.

After we ate, we turned into the hotel to rest for the rest of the evening. We had plans to get up the next morning at 9am to take the trip to the Louisville Zoo. . This is a great and wonderful zoo. It cost $7.95 for adults and $4.95 for children. We found tickets at the hotel to admit one adult free with the purchase of another. This was great. The zoo has everything from elephants to Kola Bears. They also have a petting zoo for you to pet goats, sheep and small donkeys. I recommend this to any of you that plan on taking a trip to Louisville, KY. After the zoo we headed home and was glad to get home and rest. Until august when I will have another vacation weekend coming up to Cincinnati to see a baseball game.
The End
