Come My Love
His days he spent just wandering
across beaches far and near.
A hand he raised up to his eye,
for to wipe away a tear.
For was two years since she went away.
and left him all alone.
In solitude to spend his life,
in his now so lonely home.
For with her life was full of joy,
so happy and so gay,
But now life seemed an empty void,
since his Molly went away.
As children they would romp through fields,
as kids do having fun.
they never dreamed that one day soon,
their hearts would beat as one.
But into their teens these two did grow,
and their love grew in their hearts,
and they vowed that on their wedding day,
they would never ever part.
And their life they spent so happy,
in their little cabin by the sea.
no love more blessed and beautiful,
could never ever be.
Like when he came home from working,
made no difference what the hour.
into her hair he'd place a rose,
for it was her most loved flower.
Then into his lap he'd lay her head,
as the evening shadows fell,
and wiser sonnets of his love,
all of which he could never tell.
"If you should live to be eighty dear,
plus two days and then no more,
I pray I live the same amount,
but I die the day before."
"For I could not live without you,
we were destined from the start,
just as a heart without a body,
we could never ever part."
Then holding hands they'd climb the stairs,
and kneel down by their bed.
And with heads bent solemn side by side,
this humble prayer they said.
"Dear father how we love you so,
and thank you oh so much.
For bringing us together lord,
with your very special touch."
"We know our love can only grow,
until the day we die."
At this she softly squeezed his hand,
but he never did ask why.
And they'd go on and give their thanks,
for everything they knew.
And Molly would say these words alone,
before their prayer was through.
"And if one of us is left behind,
and must leave the other here.
Be with the one that must remain,
and bring comfort to their tears."
Oh how they longed for children,
that of which they never had.
so they gave their love to other kids,
not to matter good or bad.
And the elderly they helped through life,
tend to things they could not do.
And for anyone in need of help,
their help would give unto.
When on the beach which they lived so well,
they'd frolic and they'd play.
his toe he'd sneak across her back,
and yell "Shark please go away."
So that into his arms she'd fling herself,
and they would sink beneath the waves.
while rising kissing she'd laugh for knew,
it was just one of his ways.
For he use to love to joke with her,
something new most everyday.
and with each little thing he did,
her fears would melt away.
When Christmas eve would come around,
he would get down on his knee.
And as she slept her little gift,
place so gently beneath the tree.
Then tiptoe softly up the stairs,
without a sound he'd make.
So his most precious Molly,
he'd cause not to awake.
But Molly wasn't sleeping,
for she knew what he would do.
She would wait until he fell asleep,
and do the same thing too.
When morning came they'd hug and kiss,
then down the stairs they'd romp.
She unwrapped her gift...a teardrop fell,
in her throat fought back a lump.
For it was a little music box,
It's music sweet and clear.
the song it played she knew so well,
their song "I love you oh so dear."
And Easter was another time,
she so happy made their years.
such joy she made each day of life,
while fighting back her fear.
Now as he slept she'd sneak downstairs,
and a silly thing would do.
she'd hide some eggs just as a child,
in that early morning dew.
Then she'd go in and wake him,
wearing her funny rabbit ears.
Such joy she made each day of life,
so happy made their years.
Could it be that eons so long ago,
these two were side by side.
Twin stars set in eternal space,
so vast so deep and wide.
And God in all his mercy,
felt their love should not undo.
So he gave them earthly bodies,
these our star-crossed lovers two.
And their life they spent so happy,
in their cabin by the sea.
A love more great and wonderful,
could never ever be.
Yet life so sweet so short for these,
two hearts that beat as one.
She knew before she went away,
one last thing to be done.
She gently pulled him to her side,
as in her deathbed lay.
Looked in his eyes and pulled him close,
these last words she did say.
"You have made my life as wonderful,
as a life could ever be.
Be strong my love," then held him close,
"We will meet again you'll see."
"Remember what I asked the Lord,
each time that we did pray.
we'll walk those streets of gold I know,
and love again someday."
"And every time the rain does fall,
from the clouds up in the sky.
Will have some tears from me up there,
whenever I should cry."
"Yes, I know that you'll be lonely,
in our cabin by the sea.
But each time you take a walk my love,
together we will be."
Then one last kiss...she closed her eyes,
he felt her weak hold go.
"Oh God don't go away from me,
Sweetheart I love you so."
"I love you more than life itself,
oh if I had only known.
I cant go on without you love,
don't leave me here alone."
The burial was a sad affair,
for he loved his Molly so.
Yes she knew that she was dieing,
but would never let him know.
How brave his love now gone away,
now so many worlds apart.
for she knew that if she told him,
it would surely break his heart.
One evening as he walked the shore,
a now old and lonely man.
Into the mist he wandered slow,
and was then he felt her hand.
"COME MY LOVE,..I've waited long,
he heard her soft voice say.
The Lord has sent me back to you,
to bring you on this day."
"You'll love our cabin in the sky,
for the sand is made of gold.
The sea is as a crystal glass,
and nothing does turn old."
"No clocks are there in heaven dear,
you need not worry more.
For time is at a standstill there,
past heavens golden door."
"Your mothers there and father too,
to greet you on this day.
So come my love and take my hand,
and let us go away."
And then they climbed those golden stairs,
that led up to the sky.
reunited in love our lovers two,
no more to weep or cry.
The next day they found his body,
near their cabin by the sea.
A smile he had upon his face,
as no happier could be.
And it baffles all who ever tried,
to come to know or understand.
A rose like none they'd ever seen,
was held so firmly in his hand.
Now until this day upon that shore,
at the spot where he did lay.
At times the wind will wisper low,
and you can hear two voices say.
"We're coming lord to be with you,
in completion of thine plan.
So great the love within our hearts,
not understandable by man."
"Though countless years will come and go,
now until all eternity.
The love we share will only grow,
my Molly....you...and me."
