“Yep. She left a note.” Stephanie said walking out of the kitchen with a piece of paper in her hands.
“What does it say?” Lisa asked.
“It says…” Stephanie began to read it out loud.
Lisa and Stephanie,
I’m probably on my way to Kentucky by now so I just want to say if there’s anything wrong you can call me at my cell phone or at Jennifer’s house number which is: 1(270) 366-5522. But I’m gonna go now ok. And I’ll see you guys in two weeks ok.
Love ya,
Theresa
“Oh ok.” Lisa replied turning on the TV and the channel was on Comedy Central. “Hey look it’s the Backstreet Boys.” Lisa pointed to the group of men in black leather dancing across the floor.
“Mmm, look at Kevin.” Stephanie smiled to herself.
“Yeah, he always did look good in leather.” Lisa mocked.
“Hey.” Stephanie frowned hitting Lisa in the head with a pillow as she sat down beside her.
“Yeah but Nick looks better.” Lisa smirked hitting her back.
“Look at A.J’s hair.” Stephanie laughed referring to the braids in his hair.
“That does look funny.” Lisa sighed catching her breath.
-At A.J’s house-
A.J had dozed off to sleep due to the lack of sleep he’s been getting. As he was having a dream of him and Theresa but it was interrupted by the rings of the telephone.
RING, RING
“Hello.” A.J mumbled hoping that it was Theresa.
“You never came back last night.” A voice sighed.
“Is this Amanda?” He asked sitting up taking a drink of his mountain dew he left on the coffee table.
“Yep. Hey I was wondering if you’d want to do something tonight.” Amanda suggested.
“Well sure I guess, I don’t have nothing better to do.”
“Ok then I’ll be over at your house at 4:00.”
“Ok bye.” A.J said hanging up the phone before Amanda could answer and laid back on the couch and fell back to sleep.
-1 hour later-
The plane to Kentucky finally landed and Theresa and Jennifer hurried off the plane and as soon as they walked into the lobby Theresa seen her mom.
“Mom.” Theresa yelled running towards her giving her a hug.
“Theresa. Look at you.” Her mom smiled kissing her cheek.
“I missed you so much.” Theresa pulled away and looked at her.
“Me too. Hi Jennifer.” Her mom waved.
“Hi Robin.” Jennifer waved back walking towards the luggage bin to grab her and Theresa’s bags.
“So are you still dating that Justin guy?” Robin asked following Theresa to where Jennifer was looking for their bags.
“Um…no, mom we broke up a while ago.” Theresa frowned grabbing her bags off the converter belt.
“Anybody new?” She wondered.
“Remember A.J?” Theresa smiled helping Jennifer find her bags.
“For real. That’s neat.” Robin replied.
“They’re really cute together.” Jennifer inputted following Theresa’s mom to her gray BMW convertible. “Except for the height difference.”
“That’s good.” Robin said opening the trunk to her car and helping the girls with their bags. As they got in the car they drove to Jennifer’s apartment Theresa and her mom talked each other’s heads off about what’s happened since Christmas.
“There it is.” Jennifer stated pointing to a two-story apartment with a purple dodge neon in the driveway. Theresa and Jennifer climbed out of the car and got their bags and headed to her apartment. Theresa waved to her mom as she drove off. As Theresa walked into the apartment she seen a light purple living room with many white shelves that had pictures and sculptures on them. She had a TV placed against the wall and the bright purple couch was placed at least a foot or two away from a glass-sliding window.
“Jennifer! Where’s my room?” Theresa yelled as she ran up the stairs that lead into a short hallway with two doors on the side and another door that was the bathroom at the end of the hallway.
“Right here.” Jennifer smiled walking out of one of the rooms and across the hall to another room. As she opened the door Theresa walked into a light green room with a twin size bed that had a blue, yellow, orange, and green blankets over it. It had a wooden nightstand beside it and a plant in the corner.
“Different.” Theresa smiled lying her bags on the bed.
“I thought I could try something different.” Jennifer replied. “Hey, you want something to drink?”
“Sure, do you have coke?” Theresa asked.
“Yeah. I’ll be back.” Jennifer answered as she headed downstairs. As Theresa walked to the window she reached the multi-colored curtains and stared out into the grassy backyard. As the thought of A.J ran threw her mind she just remembered what she needed to do. Running out the room and down the stairs, she walked into the kitchen were Jennifer was talking on the phone.
“Jennifer, tell me when you get off cause I need to call A.J.” Theresa pleaded taking her hair out of the ponytail that it was in and running her fingers threw it.
“Ok.” Jennifer nodded sliding the can of coke to Theresa.
