Chapter 6: The Sixth Sense

Kevin was lying on his midnight blue bed listening to ‘Back at one’ by Brian McKnight. Picking up the phone he started to dial Stephanie’s number.

“Hello.” A voice answered after three rings.

“Stephanie?” Kevin asked.

“Yep. Is this Kevin?”

“Yeah. So are we going out tonight?”

“Yeah, but I’ll have to find a new dress.” Stephanie snickered.

“Oh your dress. I’m still sorry about that.”

“Kevin, its ok you need to stop saying ‘I’m sorry’ ok, I can always buy a new one plus I’m pretty sure there’s like a million other dresses willing to wear.”

“Your right. I’m still sorry.” Kevin chuckled a bit.

-At McDonalds-

A.J and Theresa sat across from one another in the nearly empty McDonalds. She had just finished explaining her and Justin’s fight.

“I can’t believe he did that and then denied it.” A.J grinned to himself half-liking the idea of her being with him instead of Justin.

“I know. I’m like hello that was Silicone Spears.” Theresa laughed at her nickname for Brittany. They were splitting a large thing of fries and there was only one left. They both reached for the fry at the same time, but A.J got to it first. “Hey buster that’s my fry.” Theresa protested. A.J grinned again and stuck it half way in his mouth.

“Come and get it if you want it.” Theresa frowned but stood up and walked up next to him. She bent her head down and carefully bit down on the fry, avoiding contact with his lips. A.J noticed she was avoiding his lips and couldn’t help but lean forward, barely touching her soft pink mouth. She jumped a little but didn’t pull away she pushed a little closer to his mouth. Suddenly she pulled back and blushed. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done that when I know that you and Justin had just broken up.” A.J little embarrassed by what they had done, apologized.

“It’s my fault.” Theresa hurried back to her seat. “ The bad thing is that I liked your kiss better than Justin’s.” She laid her head on the table as tears started pouring down her cheeks. A.J felt terrible for making her cry. He walked over to her and hugged her tightly.

“I won’t tell a soul I swear.” He whispered in her ear. She looked up at him with large wet eyes and leaned in towards his lips again. He wanted her to kiss him but he stopped her from coming any closer.

“Maybe we should head home.” Theresa blushed and nodded, hugging him one last time before getting up.

-At the movies-

Kevin took Stephanie out to the movies to see the ‘The Sixth Sense’. While sitting in the dark room full of people, Kevin looked over and saw Stephanie flinch whenever something moved or jumped. Still staring he let his eyes wonder all over her body, she was wearing a short pink sundress with an empire waistline and embroidered butterflies everywhere, her hair was pulled back in a small pink headband with a metal butterfly on it. Feeling like someone was staring at her she turned her head and noticed that it was Kevin.

“Thanks for bringing me out.” Stephanie whispered in Kevin’s ear as she placed a small piece of buttery popcorn in her mouth.

“Anything for you.” Kevin smiled and slyly wrapped his arm around her neck resting his hand on her shoulder. When the movie finished the two exited the room and walked towards their cars. Kevin was stopped to take a few pictures and sign autographs with fans, but after that he went back to Stephanie. Kevin walked Stephanie to her car holding her hand. As Stephanie went to open the door to her car, she felt Kevin grab her arm and turn her around making them face to face. “Can I kiss you?” Kevin asked staring into her deep brown eyes. Stephanie nodded as Kevin placed his hand on her chin and leaned in kissing her lips softly. Stephanie felt chills run through her body from his lips. She pulled away and climbed in her car then drove away.

“Call me!” Stephanie yelled out the window as she drove into the dark.
