Chapter 5

"I’m sorry, Miss." A deep voice said, as Stephanie backed up.

"Me too. I’m really sorry. I wasn’t watching where I was going." She muttered, looking up to meet two perfect gray-green eyes.

Kevin stared at her intriguingly. No wonder Brian wanted her, she was gorgeous. His eyes roved up and down over her body. Her black jacket covered the green tank top that showed off her figure perfectly.

Stephanie noticed his roaming emerald eyes and coughed nervously.

"Well I’m really sorry I bumped into you, but I have someone to meet, so bye." She stuttered, pulling her jacket towards her body and started to walk around him.

"Is your name Stephanie, by any chance?" Kevin grinned, slightly, watching her wring her hands with great amusement.

"Yes, how do you know me?" she asked, swallowing the dry lump in her throat. "Are you a friend of Brian’s or something?"

"Yeah, I’m his cousin. You meeting him tonight?" he smirked at her obvious discomfort.

"Yes. Umm, would you happen to know where he is?" she whispered hoarsely, pulling her jacket even closer to her petite body.

"Yup, he’s down that way, on the bench by the split oak tree." Kevin’s eyes glittered like emeralds, watching her walk around him. ‘Umm, I’m gonna enjoy that one.’ He smirked silently.

Stephanie started to jog, then stopped and turned around to thank him.

"Thank you-" she started, as she spun around, but there was no one on the path. "Where did he go?" she muttered, and continued on her way to Brian, trying to ignore the eerie feelings of someone stalking behind her.

**At the Bar**

"Aj, I don’t think I can walk home." Theresa stuttered, leaning against him in the dimly lit corner booth. The alcohol had taken it’s effect on her, yet had not effected him in the least. That was the one thing he found boring about vampirism, you could never drink to get drunk and escape from everything. But at least he never woke with a hangover, though.

"Hey, Babe, I’ll take ya home." Aj suggested, his breath tickling her earlobe.

"Okay that works for me, Baby. But I don’t think I can walk period." Her words were slurred together, and almost completely drowned out by the pulsating music. Aj stood and held out his hand for her. She gladly excepted, but tripped over her own feet getting out of the booth and landed right into Aj’s arms. He picked her up and walked out of the near empty club, letting a satisfied smile play onto his lips as she fell asleep against his shoulder. "Let the games begin, my little pet." He whispered, evilly.

**At the Park**

Stephanie slowed her pace as she neared the split oak tree Kevin had mentioned. A lone figure sat on the bench, his head in his hands, almost as if he were grieving.

"Brian? Is that you?" she whispered, walking towards the weather-worn wooden bench, slowly.

The figure’s head jerked up to meet her dark chestnut eyes. It was indeed Brian, his beautiful azure eyes sparkling with tears.

"Brian, what’s the matter?" she asked, sitting down next to him, her gentle, warm hand wiping the tears off his cold, tanned cheek. He felt her finger run over his dry, yet soft lips and softly began to kiss it each time it passed. He slowly turned his face to hers and stared at her with those beautiful sapphire eyes. Their eyes locked, until both leaned in, their lips were inches apart. Suddenly, Brian stopped, his bottom lip trembling like a child who just scraped their knee.

"Wait, we have to talk."

Stephanie nodded and took a deep breath, waiting to find out what he wanted to say, fearing what he might say.

**With Theresa**

Theresa’s long black lashes fluttered and opened. She shook her head, hoping to clear the effects of the alcohol, blinking her eyes a couple times to focus them in the darkness that surrounded her. She felt a tense pain in her temple and went to rub it, but found her wrist were both chained above her head. Theresa started to get scared, feeling the cold metal cuffs bite into her skin.

Theresa felt soft satin around her, then a cool breeze swept over her, shifting the smooth material. She was laying on a bed of black satin, spread eagle, handcuffed at her wrist and ankles, and to top it all off, she was naked.

Her cerulean eyes searched the black room for any signs of movement in the room. Her eyes finally rested on a dark figure sitting in a chair, just out of the glow of the moon.

"Hello?" Theresa struggled to see, just barely letting out a whimper.

"Silence, pet. You will speak only when I say you will." A familiar raspy voice whispered, as the unknown person rose from his seat and walked toward the bed. The mysterious man stepped into the full moon’s silvery light, revealing a familiar face.
