Chapter 53: Interviews

“Welcome to New York!” Theresa smiled as the three girls, and their bodyguards exited the airplane.

“Oh hell yeah!” Lisa giggled. “To bad Kyle couldn’t come, he’d love it here.”

“So would A.J…he’d spend millions just shopping.” Theresa laughed as her and Lisa headed for the limousine driver waiting for them, and tagging along was a tired Stephanie.

“People, I just can’t wait to get to the hotel. It’s 5 o’clock in the morning and all I can think of is SLEEP.” Stephanie yawned.

“Not me, there’s so much I’ve gotta do!” Theresa stated.

-At the hotel-

“Ooh lookie, we get to share a room in the penthouse.” Theresa giggled as she shifted her messenger back on her hip and looked at the card key in her hand.

“Yah!” Stephanie yawned sarcastically a small smirk appeared on her lips then disappeared.

“Oh I love you too Steph.” Lisa smirked as the three and their bodyguards headed for the elevator. “What floor?”

“18th.” Theresa frowned as she held on to the railing of the elevator watching Lisa push in the number. “Oh I hate these things.”

“Shit, I would too if me and A.J got stuck in it together.” Stephanie said.

“He about drove me crazy.” Theresa sighed rolling her eyes just as the familiar ‘ding’ was heard signaling that they were at their requested floor.

“Bout damn time. I want to get into bed and sleep.” Stephanie yawned.

“Me too, that is after I check out this ‘phat’ room.” Lisa stated.

“HELL YEAH!” Theresa agreed loudly finally arriving at room 1809.

“Sleep.” Was all Stephanie said as the three headed into their suite and the body guards into their own suite across the hall. “Damn…” She muttered her eyes scanning around the modern styled room full of whites and silvers.

“Ooo…so pretty.” Theresa giggled. As they first entered the room they walked into the living room with two couches, a stereo system and a large wide screen TV. The kitchen looked like any modern kitchen, just more expensive and down a small hall were three doors branching off. “I found my room!” She hollered tossing her bag onto the white feather bed.

“I like.” Lisa nodded looking around Theresa’s room. Then turning her head she spotted hers, which was darker colored and had a waterbed in it that was covered in pillows. “Found mine.” She smirked collapsing onto the bed then bouncing up and down with the waves of the water.

“Oh great, I get the last room.” Stephanie whooped tiredly as she opened to the door to an extra large room that had a fire place and a king sized, four-posted bed. “Gee thanks guys, you left me with the big bedroom.”

“Huh?” Theresa and Lisa looked at each other then went to scope out Stephanie’s room.

“Damn.” Lisa shook her head along with Theresa.

“Oh well. I’m going to bed. Night.” With that Stephanie pushed them out of her room and shut the door.

-10:30 a.m.-

“Hey baby.” Theresa smiled into her hotel room cordless phone.

“Did you have a good flight?” A.J asked.

“Yep…I slept most of the way.” Theresa replied as she sat Indian style on the plush couch eating on her bowl of cereal and watching cartoons.

“Did y’all get a phat suite?”

“Hell yeah!” Theresa smiled. “This place is tight!”

“That’s good.”

“Oh I know. But you know what?”

“Huh baby?”

“I’m so gonna be busy today and tomorrow.” Theresa sighed.

“Well of course.” A.J smirked making chomping noises in the phone.

“What are you eating?” Theresa giggled sucking the milk out of her spoon.

“Left over pizza.” A.J stated.

“Hmm…delicious.” Theresa gagged. “Actually I love eating left over pizza…that’s the best.”

“Ain’t it.” A.J chuckled. “Abby called me last night.”

“Really…what did she have to say?” She questioned.

“She said that she missed ya last night cause she tried to call and tell ya that her and Nick are officially dating.”

“Oh my God! That is good news. I’m so gonna have to call her later so she can tell me everything.” Theresa laughed. “Did she tell you how it happened?”

“She just told me that they were swimming and he just blurted out…hey lets become official.” A.J said.

“Oh wow…so romantic.” Theresa smirked sarcastically.

“Theresa! Come on get off the phone! I need to call Kev.” Stephanie’s tired voice yelled from the hall.

“I hear Steph, I guess she needs the phone?” A.J asked.

“Of course.” Theresa shook her head. “Well I’ll talk with ya later.”

“Ok babe, bye…I love you.”

“I love you too, bye.” With that and a couple of kissy noises, Theresa hung up and tossed the phone at Stephanie. “All yours.”

“Thanks.” Stephanie rolled her eyes watching Theresa jump off the couch and toss her bowl into the sink. “I swear I live with a 5 year-old.”

“Hey I heard that!” Theresa yelled from the bathroom.

“Anyway…” Stephanie trailed off dialing in Kevin’s digits.

-Later that day-

After the girls went to four interviews and photo shoots for different magazines, they finally made their last interview for the people at MTV.

“Hello girls.” A short blond smiled at the three as they entered the small design-covered room.

“Hi…” They each smiled.

“Ok well…each of you may take a seat in the three chairs and the camera crew and John Norris will be with you.”

“Ok thanks.” Stephanie said politely watching the women walk out.

“Oh my gosh guys, were going to be doing an interview on MTV.” Theresa screeched quietly fixing her one strapped tank top.

“I know. To bad Carson ain’t giving the interview.” Lisa smirked. Finally after what seemed forever, John Norris and the camera crew stepped into the room.

“Good afternoon ladies.” He smiled shaking each of their hands.

“Hello.” They all smiled as each was handed a microphone.

“Ok…shall we start the interview.” He chuckled as the girls quickly nodded their heads.

“Ok first question…tell me a little about your debut CD, ‘eNVY’.”

“Well our CD is more of a sample of everything we like to sing.” Lisa replied.

“Yeah, if you listen more to the music and not the lyrics you can hear some alternative beats, some pop, even country and even some have a more R&B feel.” Stephanie said.

“While working on this album did you have any inspired writers and/or producers?”

“Of course, we’ve got a song on the album called ‘If you leave’ that was written by Shania Twain and her husband Mutt Lang.” Theresa smiled.

“And even N’SYNC’s JC Charez produced one of our songs which is called ‘Love isn’t perfect’ which that song is more of an upbeat tempo.” Lisa inquired.

“Cool. Now how did you three lovely ladies get started?”

“Well…it all started back then we were 14 and in the 9th grade…” Stephanie giggled lightly.

“And before now their were actually four members back when we first started and her father was our manager…but we had to leave them because they were starting to change our group and making it something we didn’t want….” Theresa finished, “So we went and started new just the three of us and started making demo’s sending them here and there.”

“Yep, and Epic records liked the way we sounded and gave us a call about what…” Lisa trailed off looking at her friends, “four weeks later they called us back wanting to hear us in person.”

“We went up there and bam…we got the deal.” Theresa smiled widely.

“Did y’all have fun touring with the Backstreet Boys?”

“Yeah, it was a great experience.” Lisa nodded.

“Are y’all gonna be opening for any other groups?”

“Yeah…starting in February we’ll be touring with N’SYNC and hopefully after that we’ll be doing a small tour.” Theresa answered.

“Sounds good. Now on to some personal questions.” John smirked more directing the question to Theresa. “How many of you have boyfriends?”

“Single.” Lisa and Stephanie both lied.

“Taken.” Theresa blushed.

“Theresa is it hard keeping a relationship in the music business?”

“Well…” Theresa trailed off, “I haven’t really experienced having this relationship…but the one that I had, had before was kinda hard to work with cause we never seen each other…but this one, I hope really works out even though its only been about a month and we haven’t fully went through being away from each other and doing other things.”
