**Kevin’s House**
"God, there’s nothing on TV now a days. Well it probably because it’s about 2:15 in the freaking morning. Why didn’t you just go to the club with the guys? You know why you didn’t, it’s because Stephanie knows you guys are back from tour, and you were hoping she’d call. God, why am I talking to myself? ‘Cause I’m going insane!" Kevin mumbled to himself. Finally switching off the TV he stretched his arms above his head and stared at the phone again.
"She’s not gonna call. She probably still hates me. God why was I so fucking stupid. I could have her right here with me, right now. Or me could be in some hotel bath tub. God that was the best." Kevin shivered at the thought of their escapades in the hotel bathtub. There had been pink rose petals, candles, soft music, and best of all, Stephanie covered in bubbles in a bathtub, ready to take all his frustration away. He closed his eyes and blocked out that memory.
"You’re gonna make yourself go insane!" He yelled at himself, getting up to sit in the recliner across from the couch. He could almost see Stephanie sitting there, partically in tears from him yelling at her. He even remembered his fatal mistake that had sent her right out the door.
**Flashback**
"… Maybe you’ll do better alone. Goodbye Kevin." With that Stephanie got up from the couch and walked past him and out to the front hall, without once looking back at him. She quickly grabbed her keys and left.
‘Shit, why the hell did you say that! You stupid fuck, you just sent her straight to Brian! You’ve lost her for good now. You’re so fucking stupid!’ Kevin screamed in his mind, sinking down to his knees. He listened to her car pull out of the driveway and tear down the street. Only when he realized she wasn’t going to come back did he let the tears that had been threatening to escape throughout their entire argument loose. He fell forward onto the soft carpet, sobbing and sniffling loudly.
"Why the hell did I let her go!" He shouted, continuing to grieve.
**End of Flashback**
Kevin nearly started crying again at the thought. He never realized how much he needed her until she was gone. He always figured she had run back to Brian that night, although Brian nor any of the other guys had said anything about the fight. They just continually asked why Stephanie wasn’t coming on tour. Everyone except Nick. Suddenly lightening struck his brain. ‘No, she wouldn’t, he wouldn’t. Not after a fight like that. But Nick does have feelings for her, that’s obvious.’ Kevin thought, wondering if Stephanie had gone to Nick for comfort, or even something more. ‘Damn it, stop thinking like that. She would not do anything like that.’ He yelled at himself and laid back on the couch and massaged his temples in thought.
**Club**
"Please, Stephanie, all he needs is to hear your voice. He misses you so much, he wouldn’t shut up about you all during tour. He swore as soon as he got back home he would find a way to make it up to you and find a way to get you back. Kevin has never been one to watch soap operas but all through the tour, we all caught him watching you during your show." Aj explained. Stephanie blushed and finally nodded.
"Fine I’ll call him. But he won’t be awake and he’s a very sound sleeper. Or he might have even gotten over me and is busy with some other girl…" Aj immediately cut her off.
"Woman, how dare you think that! He’s in love with you, just give the boy a chance!"
"I was joking. I’ll call him as soon as I get home I promise." Stephanie swore, laughing when Aj stuck out his pinkie. "What are you doing?"
"Pinkie swear, you’ll call him. No chickening out, and no excuses!" Aj chuckled and grabbed her pinkie.
"Alright, well if I’m gonna call him I best get home!" She smiled, giving Aj one more hug and climbing into her midnight blue Eclipse convertible. She quickly pulled away from the club and drove back home.
**Stephanie’s Apartment**
Stephanie stared at the French-style phone and picked it up from it’s cradle again. She quickly slammed it back down and sighed.
"I can’t do it. I don’t know what to say to him." She muttered to herself. "God, quit talking to yourself. Well I don’t have anyone else around to talk to."
She took in a deep breath and speedily picked up the phone and dialed in Kevin’s home number. She listened to it ring once, twice, and finally three times. ‘He must not be home.’ She thought, downheartedly and was about to slam down the phone, until a groggy voice answered.
"Hello?" Stephanie’s stomach did summersaults hearing his voice again.
"Um, hi, Kevin?" She asked, hitting her forehead. ‘Of course it’s him you dumb ass. Why the hell did you ask?’
"Stephanie?" Kevin’s voice became clearer and slightly happier.
"Um, yeah, it’s me. Were you sleeping?"
"Nah, just dozed off on the couch."
"Oh, I can let you go if you’re sleeping…" Stephanie started, only to be cut off by Kevin.
"No, that’s alright. I was kinda hoping we would get a chance to talk." Kevin smiled, concentrating on her slow breathing. ‘God, I missed the sound of your voice.’
"Okay, so how was tour, I hear you just got back?" Her voice shook slightly, feeling tingles shoot through her body just hearing his deep, baritone voice.
"Oh it was fun, lonely since the guys use to go out about every night. But it was quite exciting most of the time. How has everything been with you?" He asked, wondering if she could hear how loud his heart was pounding.
"Oh, I’ve been keeping busy. My soap opera has become very popular in the United States now so, I’m doing good…"
"Oh yeah your soap opera, what was it called again?" Kevin frowned when he said that. ‘Why did I say that? God, you fucking moron!’
"Um, the same one I was working on the last time we were together. You Wouldn’t Know Love." He could tell she was slightly irritated with his question but he decided to try and soften her up a bit.
"I knew what soap opera it was. I’d really like to see you again Stephanie." His voice was the most serious and yet sweetest Stephanie had ever heard from him.
"How about we get together Sunday or something, we can get all the guys together and reminisce about all the good old times." Stephanie smiled, even though she felt the tears building behind her eyes. ‘God I love the sound of your voice. It kills me to hear your voice again.’ she cried in her mind at him.
"Yeah, sounds like a party. But I kinda was hoping to get a chance to talk to just you…" Kevin hinted, pulling at the tassel of a near by pillow.
"Well, come over sometime, I’m free tomorrow and I have a two week break from the show this month. Feel free to stop by anytime."
"Okay, I’ll try to stop by tomorrow, if I can. I can’t wait to see you again." He muttered, knowing they had to get off the phone soon, but not really wanting to.
"Sounds cool. Well, I know how much you need your beauty sleep, as much as I need mine, so I’ll let ya go. I guess I’ll see you later. Bye." Stephanie sighed, not really wanting to say good bye, but figuring they both needed rest.
"Yeah, well, sweet dreams, maybe I’ll see ya later." Kevin whimpered, closing his eyes tightly. ‘ God I miss you so much, Babydoll. I need you so bad.’ his heart wanted his mouth to say but couldn’t make the words come out.
"Okay, sweet dreams to you too Kev. I’ll see ya later." She whispered back, carefully placing the phone back in its cradle. Only after a few seconds of shaking did she finally break into tears. She collapsed onto the floor, sobbing quietly, only this time her tears were not in sadness over Kevin, it was happiness.
