Chapter 1~ Four Months To Go!
"Ugghh, I just want to take a hot shower and go to bed," Lorie moaned to herself as she unlocked the door to her apartment. She expected Michelle to be sleeping (it WAS twelve-thirty!), and quitely crept into their bathroom to take a shower. She left the front door unlocked because she knew Caitlyn would be right behind her. Lorie turned on the water and watched the steam rise from the bath tile. She stripped herself of her black spandex shorts, green and navy jersey and green sports bra and slowly stepped into the shower. As she let the hot water cascade down her body, she thought of how bad they had lost that night. Penn State had taken the match in three games, winning each one 15-3. Three! Notre Dame had NEVER done so poorly.
Lorie decided to switch on her shower radio to take her mind off things. As she turned the dial to 99.7 DJX, she recognized the sweet harmonies of those luscious Backstreet Boys. She silently sang to herself and realized that if she didn't get out of the shower soon there would not be enough hot water left for Caitlyn. She quickly soaped up and washed her hair, turned off the radio (the last note of "I Want It That Way" lingering in her head), and got out of the shower. Lorie wrapped a fluffy yellow (her favorite color) towel around her body and stepped out into the hallway. With all the lights off she didn't notice Caitlyn in front of her and accidentally bumped into her.
"Shit, Caitlyn! You scared me to death!" Lorie hissed.
"My bad, girl. I'm gonna get in the shower," Caitlyn whispered as she disappeared into the bathroom. Lorie wandered into the kitchen and flipped on a light. She noticed a bright green piece of paper on the bar counter. She picked it up and realized it was Michelle's writing.
"Hey girls! I knew you would get home after I went to bed, but I just had to tell you! You remember my uncle Rob? Well, he owns Freedom Hall, a huge convention center-like place in Louisville, Kentucky, and he found out today that the Backstreet Boys are doing a concert there in four months! He called me and asked if I wanted tickets and I told him hell yeah! He's going to be able to get four front row tickets and possibly backstage passes! Keep your fingers crossed! I have a six o'clock class tomorrow morning, so when you all read this I better not wake up to your screams of joy! Haha. Love you both, Michelle"
"Holy shit! I am going to be in the front row at a BSB concert! AAHH!! I have to tell Caitlyn! No, I'll just leave the note on her pillow. She will be so excited!" Lorie thought to herself. She went into Caitlyn's room, placed Michelle's note on her pillow and went into her own room. As she crawled under the covers she thought to herself, "Four months to go!"
