Chapter 12~ Get A Room

Lorie lifted her hea off of her pillow and immediately reached for a tissue on her bedside table. She sneezed a few times and sat up. Her eyes about popped out of her head. It seemed like every inch of her room had to be covered in yellow roses! She looked up to see Michelle and Caitlyn standing in the doorway, smiling like it was Christmas morning. "You guys! What is all this?" Lorie asked. Michelle pointed to a card sitting on Lorie's clock. Lorie reached over and opened the envelope. "To Lorie. Roses are red, Violets are blue, these flowers are meant for a special girl who made my dreams come true. I love you. Love, Nicky." "AHHH!" Lorie screamed, jumping up and down on her bed. "You guys! They are from Nick!" she yelled. Caitlyn and Michelle looked at each other and smiled. "Too bad they make your allergies worse, babe," Caitlyn commented. As if on cue, Lorie sneezed so hard it knocked her off balance and she fell on to the bed. They all started laughing. "I don't care! We might own Kleenex by the time these die, though!" she said, wiping her eyes. Michelle nodded and Lorie threw a pillow at her. _________________________________________________________________________ "Hello?" Nick answered his cell phone. "Nicky?" a voice said. "Lorie! Baby I miss you so much," Nick answered. "I got your flowers! They are absolutely beautiful," Lorie gushed out. Nick smiled and said, "well, I know you love yellow and you love roses, so I thought what better way to wake you up on our six month anniversary than with a combination of both!" he said. There was a pause. "Lorie?" "Oh my gosh, Nick! I completely forgot!" Lorie said. She thought she was about to cry. "I am so sorry, baby," she whispered. "Lorie, it's okay! I almost forgot, too, until I heard Brian talking to Michelle on the phone last night during the concert," Nick said, but Lorie could tell he was a little disappointed. "Nicky, I swear I'll make it up when you get here in a couple of weeks," Lorie told him. "Oh really? And how do you plan on doing that?" Nick asked slyly. Lorie laughed and shrugged her shoulders, although she knew EXACTLY how to make it up to him. _____________________________________________________________________________ "Michelle, phone!" Lorie yelled. About three hours had passed since she had talked to Nick, and she still felt horrible for forgetting their anniversary. "Thanks. I got it," Michelled yelled from her room. She was studying for finals and she really didn't want to be bothered. "Hello?" she said. "I'd go anywhere for you, anywhere you asked me to, I'd do anything for you, anything you want me to," a sweet voice sung to her. Her heart melted. "Hi, Brian," she said. She glanced up at the picture of him sitting on her desk. He was wearing his University of Kentucky hat (backwards), a white wife beater, blue UK basketball shorts and he had a basketball tucked under his arm. He was making the goofiest face at the camera. She loved that picture. "What are you doing?" he asked. "Ugghh, studying for finals. They're in three weeks," she said. "And of course, dreaming about you, staring at your picture..." He laughed. "The one when I'm on the basketball court?" he asked. "Uh huh," she answered. "Good," he said. "Why?" she asked. "Oh, umm, no reason!" he said quickly. "Hey, what are you doing tonight?" he asked. "Why is he being so weird?" she thought to herself. "Absolutely nothing. I stayed up late last night watching you!" she laughed. Just then the doorbell rang. "Hold on, Brian. Someone's at the door," Michelle said. "Okay," he answered. Michelle set down the phone and walked into the living room. Lorie was sitting on the couch reading in her chemistry book. "Lorie, I mean are you going to get the door?" Michelle asked. "Girl! I am trying to study!" Lorie said. Michelle sighed and opened the door. "BRIAN!" she screamed. He had his cell phone up to his ear and was wearing, you guessed it, a white beater, his UK basketball shorts and his UK basketball hat turned backwards. She ran out into the hallway and flung her arms around his neck. He lifted her off the ground and twirled her around a few times. "Brian I missed you so much!" she said, but her words were muffled by his mouth on hers. "Get a room!" Lorie yelled through the open door. Brian separated from Michelle and looked at Lorie. "Lorie, come here!" he said. Lorie got up off the couch and walked to the door. Brian opened his arms to give her a hug. Lorie took a couple of steps forward and was tackled from behind. She screamed as she fell to the ground (AN- grass, people! We won't have any injuries here!) She lay face down in the grass, completely stunned. A body was laying on top of her. "Michelle! Help me!" Lorie yelled. Her friend clung to her boyfriend for dear life, laughing so hard she was crying. "Michelle!" Lorie yelled again, but she was flipped over onto her back as someone forcefully pressed their lips against hers. She knew that mouth. She pushed the body off of her. She sat up, lookin at the blonde boy sitting next to her. "NICKY!" she screamed, throwing her arms around him. She kissed him like she has never kissed anybody, and they fell back against the grass. "Now who should be getting a room?" Michelle laughed. Nick waved his hand at Michelle and Brian, as if to dismiss them. Michelle took Brian's hand and led him into the apartment. "Wow, Michelle, this is a nice place," Brian said, looking around. "Thanks. The best place is in here," she said, taking him into her room. (AN- Oh no! not the bedroom!) "Uh huh," he said, wrapping his arms around her waist. They kissed passionately for a few minutes and were rudely interrupted when Michelle's phone started beeping because it hadn't been hung up. Brian walked over to it and hung it up. He glanced out the window and saw that his and Nick's rental car was gone. "Oh I hope he doesn't do anything dumb," Brian thought, but his attention quickly changed when he felt Michelle's mouth on his,
