Chapter 44
The longer Kristen and AJ stood there kissing the deeper their kiss became. Kristen knew then that she could trust AJ and he wouldn't hurt her.
"Will you check that out!" Toni yelled smacking Nick as she saw Kristen and AJ kissing from back stage.
"Damn, you sure are abusive," Nick whined rubbing his arm.
"Oh stop being a baby and look at them!"
"I'm sorry but I'm not in the mood to spy on my best friend and you shouldn't either. Now let's go."
"No, I want to see what happens. You can go ahead without me."
"I don't think so," Nick said picking Toni up and carrying her over his shoulder on the way out. After a couple of minutes of kissing AJ and Kristen finally separated from each other and looked into each others eyes.
"I love you too AJ," Kristen finally said. AJ smiled back at her.
"Come on, I want to take you somewhere else now," AJ said wrapping his arm around Kristen and leading her to his car. AJ drove out into the middle of nowhere where there was only grass and plains and parked the car.
"What are we doing here?" Kristen asked.
"It's a clear night out to just look at the stars, come on," AJ said popping in a CD full of love songs in his CD player then getting out of the car followed by Kristen. AJ sat on the hood of his car and motioned for Kristen to sit in front of him. Kristen sat in between AJ's legs and he just held her close.
"I think we're putting a dent in your car," Kristen said after a couple of minutes.
"I don't care, if we do I'll get it fixed," AJ said then paused. "I'll never hurt you," he whispered into Kristen's ear and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"I know. I trust you." They stayed out there for almost two hours. Most of the time they didn't say anything just enjoyed one another's company. "I think I need to go back home now, it's getting late," Kristen said.
"Alright come on," AJ said as he got of the car then helped Kristen off. When they got to Kristen's apartment AJ kissed her goodnight and said he would call her the next day. Kristen went into her apartment and went straight to Toni's room, turned on the light and jumped on her bed waking her up.
"What the hell are you doing?" Toni asked tiredly.
"How can you sleep?" Kristen asked excitedly. Toni sat up in bed and looked at Kristen seriously.
"Did you and AJ have sex?"
"What? No! Come on give me some credit here. I don't screw guys on the first date!"
"Then why are you so happy? I haven't seen you this happy in like forever."
"Don't you get it! I LOVE AJ! I've been hiding it from myself all this time and now that I realize it I couldn't be happier!"
"Okay, whatever drugs you are on I want some."
"Oh shut up," Kristen said throwing a pillow at her and leaving Toni's room. She went into the kitchen to get a vase to put the roses in and went back to her room. She set the vase on her dresser and began putting the roses in it when a tape fell out of the bouquet. She looked at the tape for a second then went and put it in her stereo. She pressed the play button to hear AJ's voice:
"Hey Kristen, it's me, AJ, if you hadn't figured that out yet. Anyways I'm sitting here on my bed about an hour before our date tonight. By the time you listen to this tape either we will be together or we won't. But it doesn't matter because I want you to know this either way. From the day that Angela introduced us I have fallen more and more in love with you every time I see you or hear your voice. I can't help but love you. Your past two relationships practically killed you inside. I would never do that to you. If we are a couple while your listening to this I want you to know that I will never hurt you and our relationship won't be over until you say so because I could never stop loving you. If we're not a couple this still holds true for the future if something does happen between the two of us. I love you more than anything and I won't hide that from you. Also on this tape is a copy of the song "If You Knew What I Knew" that we sang for you tonight. I hope you liked it because I meant every word of it. I was just putting the words in my heart down on paper while writing for you. Enjoy.

The song began playing as soon as AJ stopped talking. Kristen had tears in her eyes as she listened to him talk. She turned her stereo up really loud as the song played.
"What the hell is she doing?" Toni asked herself getting out of her bed as she heard the music coming from Kristen's room. "What are you doing now?" Toni asked barging in her room.
"It's so damn sweet! He's so damn sweet!" Kristen said crying. Toni just looked at her weird then left shutting the door behind her going back to her room.
"I have to make a mental note to kill AJ if I don't get any sleep tonight," Toni said crawling back into bed.
