Chapter 53
~At The Hotel The Next Morning~
"Did Kristen tell you what went on at her house after you left?" Kevin asked on the phone on the next day. When they got to the hotel the night before Kristen just crawled into bed and fell asleep not saying anything to AJ.
"No, she just cried. She practically cried herself to sleep. She woke up and got straight in the shower still not saying anything to me. What are we supposed to do Kevin? All of our stuff is at her house along with all my money and plane tickets back home."
"You're going to have to go get it."
"Whoa that is like a bad idea. Her dad definately will kill me."
"She already took the heat from her parents now it's your turn. Gotta go AJ, good luck," Kevin said hanging up the phone. AJ went to the bathroom door and still heard the shower water running so he wrote Kristen a note saying that he went to get their stuff and he would be back hopefully within the hour. He got to Kristen's house about ten minutes later and went and rang the door bell, his heart beating like crazy. He was thankful to see her mom answer the door instead of her dad. She just stood there staring at AJ.
"May I come in?" AJ asked after a couple of seconds. Her mom stood back and opened the door wider allowing AJ to enter. She shut the door behind him and looked at him making him feel really uncomfortable.
"You broke the one rule I gave you and my daughter while you were here," she said after about a minute of silence.
"I know, I'm sorry. It was completely wrong and irresponsible of us."
"It was irresponsible of you, not my daughter. You are a male and pressured her into having sex with you."
"I didn't pressure her into doing any...."
"You did," her mom said cutting him off. "I want you to get your stuff and get out of my house."
"That's why I'm here. To get our stuff."
"No, you will get your stuff only. I will give you Kristen's make-up bag and a change of clothes for the day and I expect you to bring her back here when she's ready. She's not going back with you."
"I don't mean to sound rude here but isn't it your daughter's decision whether or not she stays or goes?"
"No, it's not. Now get your stuff." AJ went downstairs and got all of his stuff together and brought it out to the car. He went to go back inside to get Kristen's stuff when her mom came out with a small bag filled with make-up and a change of clothes in her arms. "I want her back here within two hours."
"Yes, ma'am and I'm sorry."
"I don't want your apologies." AJ didn't say anything else just got in the car and drove back to the hotel. He opened the hotel room door and didn't see Kristen. He didn't hear water running so he knocked on the bathroom door.
"Come in," Kristen said. AJ opened the door to see Kristen wrapped in a towel sitting on the ground leaning against the wall. AJ went and sat down in front of her.
"I went to your house to get our stuff. Your mom would only let me bring you your make-up and a change of clothes for the day. She wants you back there in two hours and won't let you go back to Florida."
"I know," was all Kristen said as she looked down.
"Kristen, what happened last night? You haven't said a word to me about what went on." Kristen looked up at AJ as tears welled up in her eyes.
"They blamed me."
"It's not your fault, you even said so last night that we were in it together."
"You didn't let me finish."
"Finish then."
"They blamed me for what happened with Nate. My mom said that she knows how I am. She made it sound like it was all my fault with Nate and Nick. That ever since I left home I've been nothing but trouble. They took my plane ticket and tore it up and forbid me to see you again and from going back home." AJ went and picked Kristen up so she was standing on her feet and wrapped his arms around her as she cried into his shoulder.
"Don't listen to her Kristen. None of it was your fault and none of it could have been prevented no matter what you did. And you're old enough to make your own decisions about who you want to be with and where you want to live. What do you want Kristen?" AJ asked her lifting up her head so she was looking straight in his eyes.
"I want you AJ. You're the best thing that has ever happened to me. Before you came along I would almost always bottle up my feelings inside afraid to let them out. You made me bring my feelings out. You helped me through so much. I can't live without you AJ. I love you," she said with tears coming out of her eyes.
"I love you too and that is why you are going back to Florida with me."
"AJ, my parents tore up my ticket and they have all my clothes."
"Don't worry about it. I'll get you a new ticket. Let's get ready and then I'll take you out shopping and I'll get you some new clothes. I put your outfit on the bed so get dressed while I hop in the shower." AJ got in the shower while Kristen went and got dressed. She went back in the bathroom while AJ was still in the shower so she could put her make-up on. AJ got out of the shower wrapping and towel around his waist and went up behind Kristen putting his arms around her and giving her a kiss on the neck.
"AJ, you're all wet."
"I know. Promise me that you won't let this whole thing about your parents get to you. And you'll talk to me if something's bothering you about it all. Will you promise me that?"
"I promise as long as you don't leave me for whatever my parents may do for revenge."
"It's a deal." They both finished getting ready and then AJ took her to the mall and bought her about ten outfits and four pairs of shoes. When they were about to leave the mall Kristen saw one of her best friend's that she had before she left for Florida.
"Theresa?" Kristen asked her.
"Kristen! What are you doing here?" Theresa asked giving her friend a hug. She saw Kristen was with a guy and she looked at the guy and let go of Kristen immediately jumping back a little.
"Oh my God it's AJ! Kristen you're standing next to AJ Mclean!" she screamed.
"Um, yeah I sort of noticed that one," Kristen said as AJ started laughing.
"Well where the hell is my Kevin at! Oh my God! If you're here with AJ you must have met Howie! Are you and Howie together? You promised everyone you would marry Howie."
"Theresa shut up," Kristen said as AJ started laughing even harder.
"Oh my God AJ you should see how much she's loves Howie! First concert we went to together Howie took off his shirt and she was standing on a chair and fell off backwards kicking me in the butt and I pulled her back over the chair and she almost fell on the ground and I had to hold her up and try and tell her to calm down cause I thought she was going to faint!" Theresa said talking really fast.
"Okay Theresa, I think you need to calm down cause you're going to hypervenilate," Kristen said as she looked over at AJ who was holding his stomach laughing his ass off. She elbowed him in the ribs to make him stop.
"Okay, I'm calm," Theresa said breathing in and out heavily.
"How about I take you two out to lunch and you can catch up on each other's lives," AJ suggested.
"Yes! That's great!" Theresa screamed. AJ drove them to the Olive Garden where they were seated immediately. AJ sat down next to Kristen and grabbed her hand and held it while Theresa sat down across from them confused. "Are you two dating?" she asked. Kristen nodded her head yes. "Okay, whoa, I need some catching up then. What happened after you left for Florida to go to college?"
"Well, I majored in music and met this girl, Angela who was dating Brian and that's how I met AJ and the other guys."
"So you've met Kevin. Is he single? Please God say yes."
"Yes Theresa he's single."
"Are you sure?"
"He's definately single," AJ said.
"You want to give him my number?" Theresa asked pulling out a pen and paper writing her number down and giving it to AJ.
"Okay, sure," AJ said taking the paper and putting it in his pocket.
"Cassie must have flipped out when she found out Brian had a girlfriend. How is she doing?"
"Um, I would exactly know," Kristen said softly.
"Why? Aren't you still friends?"
"No, we haven't spoken to each other for a couple of months now."
"What happened?"
"Let's just say I was dating Nick and found them together in bed."
"Are you serious?" Kristen nodded her head. "That bitch." AJ looked at Theresa weird. "Sorry, she's done that to Kristen one too many times."
"So I've heard." AJ's cell phone rang so he answered it to her Toni on the other end.
"AJ! Put Kristen on the phone it's an emergencry!" Toni screamed.
"What's wrong? Nick didn't screw things up with you did he?"
"Oh God no put her on the phone!" AJ handed the phone to Kristen.
"It's Toni she's freaking out about something."
"Toni knows you guys too?" Theresa asked confused.
"Yeah, she's dating Nick ," AJ responded.
"Man, I have a lot to catch up on."
"Toni, what's wrong?" Kristen asked worriedly.
"I have nothing to wear!" Kristen started laughing at her.
"That's why you called? Where are you going?"
"Okay, well me and Nick went over to his house yesterday and I met his mom and she invited us over for dinner tonight and I'm trying to make a good impression."
"If you've already met his mom why do you need to make a good impression?"
"Because I didn't know I was going to meet her yesterday and I looked like crap so I'm trying to make up for it! Plus I'm meeting his daddy today. Now what the hell am I supposed to wear?"
"Have you been through my closet yet?"
"Yes, can I borrow your black skorts and your blue spagetti strapped silk shirt with the little jacket thingy over it?"
"And you're flipping out over what to wear when you've already decided over my clothes? Toni, I'm not there I wouldn't even know if you borrowed it."
"Well I'm trying to be nice so can I please?"
"I don't care."
"Oh thank you! So, what ya doing?"
"Me and AJ are sitting here having lunch with Theresa."
"Theresia's there? Tell her I say hi!"
"Theresia, Toni says hi."
"Tell her I say hi and I hate that damn name."
"She says hi," Kristen said.
"So what did your parents say when you showed up at their house Friday night?"
"Let's just say it went so well that we're staying at a hotel."
"What happened?"
"I'm not about to tell you with me sitting in a restaurant."
"Okay, well tell me tomorrow cause I have to go get ready. Bye girlie!"
"Bye," Kristen said hanging up the phone and giving it back to AJ. "That girl is on some hyper active pills or something."
"So are you," Theresa said. "AJ, little piece of advice. Never give this girl more than one cappuchino at night when she's tired."
"Why?"
"She goes crazy like you would not believe."
"I do not."
"Oh no? I had a bunch of people staying the night at my house one night and she went crazy so we locked her out of my room. She was banging on everything and then it got quiet. We went downstairs to find her in the kitchen with a bottle of whipped topping and a bottle of hershey's syrup squirting them in her mouth. We took the bottles away from her and she ran out of the house in below zero weather in boxers and a spaghetti strapped shirt doing jumping jacks in the snow."
"I did not," Kristen said while AJ started to laugh. "It's not funny AJ."
"Maybe to you it's not but it is to me." Through out lunch Kristen and Theresa talked about everything to catch up on each other's lives through out the past year. They walked into the parking lot when they were done eating and Theresa went to go get in her car.
"You better have Kevin call me," Theresa said.
"I will," Kristen said.
"I mean it, Shorty. I have the chance to talk to my man here so don't blow it for me."
"I won't. I'll call you in a few days," Kristen said giving her best friend a hug good-bye. AJ wrapped his arm around Kristen as they walked to the rental car.
"Feeling better?" AJ asked her.
"On the outside I do but not on the inside. It still hurts about my parents, AJ."
"I know it does," AJ said giving her a hug when they reached the car. "Try not to think too much about it and if you need someone you've always got me."
"I know," Kristen said as she stood up on her toes and kissed AJ for about a minute.
"Everyone has seemed to crap on me sometime in my life. I never thought my parents would. Please don't ever treat me bad," Kristen said after they separated.
"I can guarentee that me treating you bad won't ever happen. Come on. Let's go catch a movie or something," AJ said getting in the car.
