"I appreciate you guys helping me with all this stuff," Nick said. Him, Howie, Kevin, and Brian were all in the apartment complex parking lot setting up speakers. "But why didn't AJ want to come and help out?"
"Because he's dating Kristen," Brian said simply.
"What does that have to do with it?" Nick asked confused.
"AJ is afraid Kristen would get mad at him if he helped you get back with Toni," Howie said.
"Why would she get mad?"
"Do you know nothing about girls?" Brian asked and received a glare from Nick.
"She's female. You don't know what's going through their heads. You don't know whether they will get mad at you or not over stupid things. AJ is being smart and preventing it anyways," Kevin explained.
"So you're saying that us guys need to prevent fights before they happen even if we don't know they are going to happen?" Nick asked confused.
"Yes," Brian, Kevin, and Howie said in unison.
"How the hell are you supposed to know when you are going to get in a fight!"
"You don't. Just prevent it anyways," Kevin said as Nick just looked at him confused.
"You really don't know anything about girls do you?" Brian asked. Nick just ignored him. A few minutes before ten o'clock they finished setting stuff up and Brian, Kevin, and Howie left. Nick went and turned the speakers to make sure that Toni would be able to hear him inside. He pressed play on a tape that had the background music to the song and he began singing into the microphone praying that Toni would come outside and forgive him.
(Chorus)
Oh baby I'm missing you
We used to love so strong,
Tell me where did we go wrong?
Oh baby I'm missing you
They say I'll learn to forget
But it sure ain't happened yet
"What the hell is that?" Kristen asked herself as she heard music and singing coming from outside. She went into Toni's room where she could get a view of the parking lot from her window. She saw Toni already standing at the window. Kristen looked out the window and saw Nick with a bunch of music equipment around him singing his heart out. She opened the window so that they could hear him better.
Been checkin' out the places where we used to go
Been lookin' for your face inside the crowd
I've been talkin' to the people that we used to know
But nobody wants to say where you hang out
And when I call your phone
Seems like you're never, ever home
And you don't return my calls
It tears me apart
It's breakin' up my heart
(Chorus)
I still have your pictures hung around my room
They're the only thing that's left of you and me, oh
Girl what can I do to make you come back soon?
And make it just the way it used to be
Oh is there someone new?
Can never go on without you
Girl I don't wanna think about
I can't sleep at night
No this can't be right
Come back into my life
Come back baby, come back
(Chorus)
I know there's a chance for you and I
and I believe there's no way our love could die
So no matter how long it takes, I'll wait for you
And whatever it takes, I'll be there for you
I'll be there, I'll be there
(Chorus)
Oh baby I'm missing you
We used to love so strong,
tell me where did we go wrong?
Oh baby I'm missing you
They say I'll learn to forget
But it sure ain't happened yet
But it sure ain't happened yet,
But it Sure ain't happened yet
When Nick finished singing the last line he looked up at Toni and mouthed "I love you" to her. Toni pulled the curtains shut and went and laid back down on her bed. "Aren't you going to go down there and talk to him?" Kristen asked.
"No, I'm not."
"I can't believe you!" Kristen yelled as she started walking towards Toni. She passed by the waste basket and stepped on something that was laying next to it. She stopped and picked it up and was shocked to see it was a diamond bracelet. "Where did this come from?" she asked as she heard police sirens coming from outside. She went to the window and saw a cop car pull up next to Nick. "Oh this is just great!" she yelled leaving Toni's room. She went outside just in time to see the police officer hand cuffing Nick. "What are you doing?"
"Arresting this young man," the police officer responded.
"For what?"
"Someone in these apartments called us about loud music playing. I'm arresting him for disrupting the peace."
"You have got to be kidding me! He was singing a song that lasted probably only four minutes! You can't arrest him for that! He has a girlfriend that he needs to get back together with! He doesn't have time to go to jail!"
"Kristen, don't worry about it," Nick said. "Call up Howie and tell him to get me our or something. Don't call Kevin because he'll yell at me. Don't call Brian because he'll never let me live this down. Just please do that for me?"
"This is ridiculus!" Kristen screamed as the cop car drove away with Nick in the back. She ran back upstairs and barged into Toni's room throwing her shoes at her.
"What is your problem?" Toni asked rudely.
"Put you're damn shoes on now. You are going to go get your boyfriend out of jail."
"He's not my boyfriend."
"I am so sick and tired of this shit Toni! I love you okay. You are my friend, twin, home slice and what other terms you have come up with. You are acting like a complete bitch about a stupid fight! I know what the hell you are thinking and let me tell you that you are wrong!"
"How do you know?"
"I have known you for like ever girl. We've been there for each other through everything including many boyfriends who decided to crap on you. You think that Nick is just another guy who is trying to crap on you. Well news flash Toni! You are wrong! Nick loves and would never hurt you! You let a couple of pointless pranks at his parent's house blow completely out of proportion! I know he got you this bracelet," Kristen said holding up the diamond bracelet she found on the floor. "Name one other guy that would buy you a diamond bracelet and get himself arrested for you over a stupid little argument! Boy I sure would like to see what he would do for you when a real fight broke out between you two."
"There won't be any more fights because it's over. Get that through your head."
"No, Toni. Nick loves you and would never hurt you. Now you get that through your damn stubborn head of yours. You love Nick and I know it. So why are you denying it to yourself?"
"I hate you."
"Huh?" Kristen asked confused.
"I hate you. Why the hell do you always have to be right?" Toni asked as tears fell down her cheeks. "What the fuck am I doing? I love Nick. I want Nick. Shit, Kristen. Nick's not going to want me back," she said through more tears.
"Toni, I can guarentee you that if you stop being such a bitch and be your normal too happy go lucky self and go to the police station and get your boy back, he will want you," Kristen said giving her a hug.
"You're right," Toni said grabbing her shoes and car keys and leaving.
~2 hours later~
"You're free to go home," a cop said unlocking the door to the jail cell Nick was in. Nick grabbed his stuff and headed out of the police station expecting to see Howie waiting for him outside. He was shocked when he saw Toni approaching him.
"You came and got me out?" Nick asked as Toni nodded her head. "How'd you manage it? You don't have the money to get me out on bail."
"I talked to my nieghbor who called the police. No charges are being pressed or anything so they let you go."
"I'm confused though. Why would you get me out?" Nick said walking away.
"Because I was wrong Nick," Toni said walking with him. "I was wrong about everything. I was being stupid and stubborn about it and I'm sorry," Toni said grabbing Nick's arm and making him stop walking so she could face him. Nick wrapped his arms around her.
"I'm sorry that I was rude to you at my parent's house. It was wrong of me and my parent's sure let me know that," Nick said.
"I'm sorry for giving your clothes to the fishy's," Toni said with a smile which cause Nick to laugh. "I'll buy you some new ones but I just want you to know that I love you and I'm sorry."
"I love you too," Nick said as he pulled Toni tighter and gave her a long passionate kiss.
