Chapter 60
~Thanksgiving Day~
"Mom, I'll have to talk to you later. I need to go and get ready. So Happy Thanksgiving and I love you, bye," Kristen heard Toni say on the phone when she walked out of her room with AJ behind her.
"Talking to your parents?" Kristen asked.
"Yes. It is Thanksgiving you know. Don't forget to call your parents too." Kristen just looked at Toni for a second then turned and went back to her room shutting the door softly behind her. Toni looked at AJ confused. "Did I say something wrong or am I just plain missing something here? And why are you still here? Not meaning to sound rude or anything."
"Kristen asked me to stay the night," AJ said as Toni gave him a weird look. "Nothing happened. Get your mind out of the gutter or go and find Nick."
"Hey I wouldn't mind that one bit," Toni said with a smile. "So what is wrong with Kristen?"
"Just you mentioning her parents probably got her upset. Plus I think she has a lot on her mind."
"Okay, what the hell happened when you two were in Wyoming?"
"If Kristen wants to tell you I'm sure she will," AJ said leaving to Kristen's room. He entered finding Kristen sitting on the floor leaning against her bed staring at the wall. AJ sat down next to her and looked at her then looked at the bare wall. "Either something is very interesting about that wall or you're upset."
"Don't make fun of me."
"I'm not I'm sorry so what's wrong?"
"Just the fact that my father has probably disowned me and him along with my mother probably don't want anything to do with me."
"They don't want anything to do with you or you don't want anything to do with them?"
"What is that supposed to mean?" Kristen asked looking at AJ.
"I mean your parents still love you it's me they don't want you to have anything to do with. I think you should call them."
"I don't. If they want to talk to me they can call me."
"And you yelled at Toni for being stubborn?" AJ asked joking around when Kristen glared at him. "Sorry I didn't mean it that way. But you know Christmas isn't too far down the road and you'll feel all depressed then too and won't be able to enjoy yourself."
"AJ I just have a lot of stuff on my brain and I don't want to add more to it. I get a headache if I think too much," Kristen said as AJ laughed at her.
"Just consider it. I better get home and get ready so I'll pick you up at five and be ready," AJ said giving Kristen a kiss on the cheek. "Bye," he said leaving Kristen's room. Kristen got up and started looking through her closet for something to wear. After about ten minutes she gave up and went into Toni's room to find something of her's to wear since she was in the shower.
"What are you doing in my closet?" Kristen turned around to see Toni standing in the door way with a towel wrapped around her body and her hair wrapped up in a towel.
"I couldn't find anything to wear in my closet and I'm not succeeding in yours either."
'I'll find ya something," Toni said grabbing Kristen's arm and dragging her into her own room. Toni looked through her closet and pulled an outfit out of her closet and threw it on her bed. "What time is AJ picking you up since I'm guessing you're going to be with him tonight."
"Five, what about you?"
"Nick will be here at four so that gives me two hours. You better get in the shower because three hours is never enough time for you to get ready," Toni said sarcastically.
"That's not true."
"Okay sure," Toni said leaving the room. She put on a white tank top with a baby blue jacket open over it. She then put on a long black skirt that had slits up to her knees on both sides with black matching platforms. She finished putting her make-up on then brushed out her long dark hair and wore it down letting it go curly as it dried. Kristen came in Toni's room and started going through all of her hair clips. "What are you looking for?"
"Do you have any light blue little butterfly clips I can borrow?"
"Yeah they are in there somewhere." Kristen found them then sat down in front of Toni's mirror and finished doing her hair.
"So how do I look?" Kristen asked standing up in front of Toni. She was wearing a long black silk skirt that had big light blue roses all over it with a long sleeved white cotton shirt with a blue rose on it. She had on black platform sandals to go with it.
"You look nice."
"I don't look really formal do I?"
"No, you look like you are trying to look nice which you do."
"Good," Kristen said as there was a knock on the door.
"That's probably Nick. Have fun with AJ tonight. Not too much fun though," Toni said leaving the room. "Hey Nick," Toni said opening the door and closing it behind her as she went.
"Why do you look so nervous?" Nick asked when they got in his car and began to drive away.
"Because I don't know what your parents are going to say after what happened the last time when we were at their house."
"My parents won't say anything about it. I promise you that. Besides, it's Thanksgiving and there won't be any fighting among anyone in their house."
"Good. Oh shit, turn back around."
"What? Why?" Nick asked confused.
"Because I left the pies in the fridge." Nick did a U-turn in the middle of street and headed back to her apartment where she ran in to get the pies.
~Thanksgiving at the Carter's Household~
Not too long later Nick pulled up into his parent's driveway. He went over to the passenger side and opened the door for Toni. He took the pies from her as she got out and walked with him into his parent's house.
"Nick let me take those from you. You can be clumsy at times and there's no point in ruining pies Toni worked hard on making," Jane said greeting them at the door and taking the two pies from Nick.
"Hey, I did most of the hard work."
"Which involved cleaning the kitchen of the mess you splattered every where," Toni said with a smile.
"Oh I should have warned you not to let Nick help you. No matter what he always makes a mess. Toni how about helping me in the kitchen and Nick go help your grandma and BJ set the table please." Nick did as he was told and went and greeted both of his grandparents then helped set the table. Toni, Jane, Leslie, and Angel were all in the kitchen finishing up with the dinner as they talked about various things. About an hour later all the food was on the table and everyone sat down to eat after Nick's dad said grace. It was silence for a couple of minutes before Nick's grandma broke the silence.
"So, Toni how long have you been going out with my grandson here?" she asked.
"About six months I think."
"Has he boinked you yet?" his grandpa asked. Nick took a drink of his wine and started choking on it when his grandpa said that. Toni's mouth just dropped not knowing what to say.
"Dad!" Jane yelled at her father.
"I'm just asking a question! So has he?"
"I...I'm sorry I think I misunderstood you," Toni said politely as she looked at Nick who's face was beat red.
"I asked if he's boinked you yet. Those are the terms they use nowadays aren't they?"
"No, they're not," BJ said who received weird looks from her parents.
"It's rude to not answer a question that someone has asked you, you know," his grandfather said.
"I'm sorry but that's just sort of a little personal," Toni said as nicely as she could.
"That's right and I don't want to know the answer to it anyways," Jane said.
"No, don't worry they haven't," his grandfather continued. "Nick is still too young to know how to work it properly."
"Grandpa!" Nick yelled.
"Oh Nicky do you think your grandfather and I don't know about this kind of stuff?" Nick's grandma asked. "The older you are the more experienced you are," she finished saying as BJ and Leslie started laughing. Bob and Jane sat there trying to cover Aaron's and Angel's ears since they figured they were still too young to hear a conversation like that.
"Don't they have some kind of drug out there that knocks you out cold and guys give it to girls and rape them?" his grandpa asked. "I think they do. You're not giving that to Nick to get him to have sex with you are you? You look like a sexually active young lady who has had sex long before Nick came into your life." Toni's face turned just about as red as Nick's and she wanted to crawl under the table and die of embarrassment.
"Dad, will you stop it. This conversation is completely inappropriate and you are embarrassing Nick and Toni."
"Oh relax you can tell your baby boy is still a virgin. Just look at him."
"Um...I think that one's debatable," BJ said joining in on the conversation. Nick had moved his plate and was slighting banging his forehead on the table.
"BJ! We don't need your comments!" Bob yelled at her.
"Oh come on! Toni has already stripped him naked and lost his clothes. You know they've had to have had sex before!" Toni was now sliding down in her chair covering her face with her hands. She really wanted to get out of there and she could tell Nick wanted to too.
"Bobbie Jean Carter!" Jane yelled at her.
"See, the women always have to be the aggressive ones in the relationship. Always remember that girls," Nick's grandma said to BJ and Leslie.
"Mother! Don't be telling my daughters that! You two young ladies will not have sex until you are married do you understand?" Jane asked her daughters as they nodded their heads in agreement. "Now we are going to finish this dinner without another word about sex," Jane said sternly. For the rest of the dinner not another word was spoken. After dinner Nick and Toni hung out for a little while longer to help Jane with the dishes. Before the two of them left Jane gave them some left over food to take with them and apologized for the embarrassment at the dinner table.
~Thanksgiving at the Dorough's House~
Right at five o'clock AJ came to pick up Kristen and they drove over to Howie's parent's house. They were the last ones to arrive and were greeted by Howie's dad. "Do you know where my mom's at? I want to introduce her to Kristen," AJ said.
"I think she's in the kitchen with Paula."
"Thanks," AJ said leading Kristen into the kitchen where Howie's mom, Paula, and AJ's mom, Denise, were setting the food on the table. "Hi Mom," AJ said giving his mom a kiss on the cheek.
"It's about time you showed up. We were about to start without you. Is this Kristen?"
"Yes, it is," Kristen said shaking Denise's hand.
"It's about time I meet you. You're the first girl AJ's ever dated that puts his head in the clouds."
"Hey, I can't help it if I love her," AJ said wrapping his arm around Kristen.
"That's good. Just don't let her go when you're on tour because you don't want the responsibility."
"I won't."
"Will you two do me a favor and tell everyone it's time to eat?" Paula asked. AJ agreed and he went around introducing Kristen to everyone and telling them it was time to eat. All through out dinner AJ noticed that Kristen wasn't saying much and she didn't seem like her normal self. After dinner Polly Anna invited Kristen down into the basement to mess around with singing in the studio.
"Can I talk to you for a minute privately?" AJ asked pulling Kristen to the side.
"Yeah, sure. I'll be right back," she said to Polly Anna. AJ brought Kristen into an empty bedroom and stood closely next to her so they were only about an inch away. "What did you want?"
"It being Thanksgiving and all and with you leaving tomorrow I wanted to tell you what I was thankful for."
"Okay," Kristen said softly not looking at AJ.
"I'm thankful for you more than anything, Kristen," AJ said as he placed his hand under her chin turning her head so she was looking at him. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a gold ring that had little rubys all the way around it and he slid it onto Kristen's finger. "It's a promise ring," he said before Kristen could speak. "It means that whenever your away or I'm away you'll still belong to me and I'll belong to you for always. Rubys are your birth stone right?" AJ asked when Kristen didn't say anything.
"Yes. Thank you," Kristen said as her eyes began to water. She gave AJ a hug then left the room to go find Polly Anna. AJ stood there confused before he left the room as Howie approached him.
"Did you give it to her?" Howie asked.
"Yeah."
"Then what's wrong?"
"I didn't exactly get the reaction I was hoping for."
"She didn't break up with you did she?"
"No. She just hugged me and said thank you. I thought she would kiss me or something but she didn't. She didn't even seem to happy about it," AJ said sadly.
"I wouldn't worry too much about it Bone. She didn't seem to happy at dinner either."
"You noticed that too?" AJ asked.
"Yeah. She was too quiet. But she's probably just upset about having to leave tomorrow to go on tour."
"You're probably right but I think it also has to do with her parents."
"What do you mean?" Howie asked confused.
"Nevermind, I'll just try and make her feel better tonight," AJ said with a smile.
"Don't keep her up all night she does have to get up early in the morning you know."
"We're also not going to be able to see each other for a month."
"Have you even slept with her yet?"
"Yeah once. It was a very bad experience."
"That's pretty cold to say about your girlfriend. You shouldn't be complaining. You usually can barely go a couple weeks without having sex and you managed to go a couple of months."
"No, I don't mean she was a bad experience. She was great just the whole thing was a bad experience. After what happened she probably won't ever want to do it again."
"What happened? Everyone knows something happened between you and Kristen when you were in Wyoming. I'm guessing that you sleeping with her has something to do with it."
"D, I'm not going to talk about. I'm going to go get Kristen. She can be cranky when she has to get up early so we better leave."
"You don't have much room to talk. So are you."
"Yeah yeah, later D." AJ went downstairs and told Kristen that he thought it was time to go and she agreed. They thanked Howie's mom for dinner before heading out the door. "How about you staying at my place tonight?" AJ asked as he pulled down the driveway.
"I'd like that," Kristen smiled at AJ as she placed her hand on his inner thigh as he drove to his place. When they got to AJ's place Kristen went to his room and sat on his bed with AJ sitting next to her.
"I'm going to miss you," AJ said as he wrapped his arms around Kristen.
"I know but this is the easy time. We'll only be apart for one month. After the Video Music Awards there will be two months."
"I know but I'm still going to miss being able to kiss you for one whole month," AJ said as he kissed Kristen passionately slowly laying her back on the bed. They both kicked their shoes off as AJ pulled Kristen's shirt off. AJ began sucking on Kristen's neck and chest as she unbuttoned his shirt and pulled it off of him. AJ got up and took his pants off then laid back down on top of Kristen and pulled her skirt off. He went to take her panties off when she grabbed his hands and looked him in the eyes as her eyes filled with tears.
"I'm sorry AJ. We can't do this."
"Don't be," AJ said as he pulled the blankets back on the bed and him and Kristen crawled underneath of them. "You don't need to be sorry for anything," AJ said as he held Kristen close and she cried. "I don't understand though. What is wrong?"
"It's just that if we had never had sex then my parents wouldn't hate both of us and they would still be talking to me. They probably would have flown me back to Wyoming to spend Thanksgiving with them."
"Are you regretting it?"
"AJ I love you and I love the experience we had together. I'm sorry though but I do regret it. I regret that we did in my parent's house and that's the cause of my family and I not speaking. I'm sorry."
"Like I said before. Don't be. You have every right to regret it. I know you love your family just like I love mine. I would hate it if my mother wouldn't speak to me. But I love you Kristen no matter what," AJ said as Kristen cuddled up closer to AJ and fell fast asleep.
~Nick's House~
"This isn't the way to my apartment," Toni said to Nick on their way back home after dinner.
"I know. I thought we would take a little detour to my place," Nick said with a smile.
"And what if I don't want to?" Toni asked joking around.
"You will," was all Nick said. They got to Nick's house and when they got inside Nick picked Toni up and carried her to his room. Nick carefully laid her down on the bed with him on top of her. Toni put her arms around Nick's neck and kissed him passionately. "I'm sorry about what happened at dinner," Nick said when they pulled apart. "But we can always prove them wrong without them having to know about it," Nick said as he kissed Toni again. They were in a heavy make out session when Nick ran his hand under Toni's shirt and cupped her right breast. She moaned in pleasure. He took off her shirt and bra and slowly allowed his eyes to roam her body. "You are so beautiful," Nick said as Toni smiled and started to undress him. She teasingly ran her hands down his chest and stoped at the top of his pants. Nick sucked in a breath as she began to unbutton them. She slid his pants down, along with his boxers and immediately noticeed his arousal.
"I have missed this so much when we were apart," Toni said as she played with his arousaed memeber. He ran his hands down her back and grab onto her ass. She looked up at him and started to kiss him again. She climbed up on his lap, as his long memeber enter her body. Slowly at first but sped up as soon as she got used to the feeling. Toni felt Nick about to climax as she grinded her hips into his. He let lose as they both screamed in pleasure. Nick pulled out while Toni laid on the bed. "I have definately missed that more than I thought," Toni said smiling as she wrapped her arms around Nick. She fell asleep thinking about how that was the weirdest Thanksgiving day she had ever experienced.
